Does that particular car have the 3.73 rear axle? My 3.73 equipped 2010 runs at about 2200 rpms at 75mph and 1800 rpms at 65 mph. You said you were under 2000 rpms at 75 mph. I was just wondering about the discrepancy if that Mustang has the same rear axle as mine.

If you drive it like a family passenger car it'll reward you with mid 22-24 miles per gallon, though when I first picked mine up I was filling it up twice per week and my commute to the place where I work is max an 15 min. drive notice I say the time it takes instead of the actual distance ;) since the actual distance is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned ;) 2k rpm's at 75mph in 5th gear = fairly decent...then again my old 94 5.0 had 2.73's and could cruise at 81-83 mph in 5th without going 2k+

i expect a slightly slower time than the camaro with the new mustang. I mean there 5.4 liter S/C gets a 4.0-4.3 so im expecting a 4.7-4.9 5.0 N/A. Also, I expect a 1-2k difference in price between the 010/011 stangs.

I think ford should have gave the 2010 mustang 350 horsepower stock instead of 315.. Then 2010 V6 camaro has the Cadillac power plant in it that produces 304hp stock... I guess fords marketing strategy was to see how sales would go on the 2010 first, then next yr bring out the 2011, 5.0 liter-400hp which will have most mustang enthusiasts going wild...

There is no documentation yet but i am sure Ford will produce the 5.0 its prudent to do so. If the mustang pulls 400+ hp then it will compete with the vipers cause if at 315hp it hauls ass just imagine what 400+hp can do

315+ will hang with a camaro. I have a 2007 Mustang that i got for 19K back in 2007 i might be getting a corvette or just another newer mustang either the potential new 5.0 or a roush. In either case all these cars are wonderful. Camaro is great the Mustang is great they both overcome most cars in the street today.
u have to relize mustangs our made to be affordable and enjoyable. so ford trys to put quality and keep it under $30k, the camaroes are built mainly on performance, u have to pay almost $35,000 for a v8 camaro, and $28,000 for a v8 mustang, thts why u c more mustangs, i dont c any camaroes driving around because they were 2 expensive, mustangs only trail the camaro by a little. with the $7k price differnce ford culd spend more time and get a bigger powertrain mustangs culd easily beat the camaro
And about the poor quality cheap interior...thats ALL american made cars! Thats why unless its a muscle car...I only buy foriegn...they are simply better cars all around.

They aren't cheaper... A Camaro, with much better components than the Stang is 31k. For 31k you get better, brakes (Brembo's), over 100 more horses, IRS, and 6 gears. It's a better car. Noway a Stang will out handle a Camaro, it has IRS bro.

U might think its cuase u drove in a 2009 stang but the 2010 has 15 more hp, better gears and is up to 6500 from 6000 rpm. btw i drive and 05 stang with only a wms intake no tune and bbk throttle body, OH and 170000 miles. I work at chevrolet and my boss raced me in a ss! Didnt work out for him. I beat him of the start with launch control on and he couldnt take me on the highway. Plus u cant see shit while in the camaro! Looks funny too

If you drive it like a family passenger car it'll reward you with mid 22-24 miles per gallon, though when I first picked mine up I was filling it up twice per week and my commute to the place where I work is max an 15 min. drive notice I say the time it takes instead of the actual distance ;) since the actual distance is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned ;) 2k rpm's at 75mph in 5th gear = fairly decent...then again my old 94 5.0 had 2.73's and could cruise at 81-83 mph in 5th without going 2k+

the 5.0 is coming back for 2011 and it'll be faster then the camaro..... hell the GT is only 1.5sec slower then the top of the line camaro so why you complaining lol

i expect a slightly slower time than the camaro with the new mustang. I mean there 5.4 liter S/C gets a 4.0-4.3 so im expecting a 4.7-4.9 5.0 N/A. Also, I expect a 1-2k difference in price between the 010/011 stangs.

I think ford should have gave the 2010 mustang 350 horsepower stock instead of 315.. Then 2010 V6 camaro has the Cadillac power plant in it that produces 304hp stock... I guess fords marketing strategy was to see how sales would go on the 2010 first, then next yr bring out the 2011, 5.0 liter-400hp which will have most mustang enthusiasts going wild...

It will be getting Ford's 3.7L V6 that powers the MKS, but it will be revamped to get over 315 hp, just as much as the current GT and more than the Camaro's V6.

It's going to be great next year when the 400hp 5.0 is in the stang. The Challenger weighs 4100lbs, Camaro around 3900lbs and the mustang is 3500lbs.

There is no documentation yet but i am sure Ford will produce the 5.0 its prudent to do so. If the mustang pulls 400+ hp then it will compete with the vipers cause if at 315hp it hauls ass just imagine what 400+hp can do

315+ will hang with a camaro. I have a 2007 Mustang that i got for 19K back in 2007 i might be getting a corvette or just another newer mustang either the potential new 5.0 or a roush. In either case all these cars are wonderful. Camaro is great the Mustang is great they both overcome most cars in the street today.

u have to relize mustangs our made to be affordable and enjoyable. so ford trys to put quality and keep it under $30k, the camaroes are built mainly on performance, u have to pay almost $35,000 for a v8 camaro, and $28,000 for a v8 mustang, thts why u c more mustangs, i dont c any camaroes driving around because they were 2 expensive, mustangs only trail the camaro by a little. with the $7k price differnce ford culd spend more time and get a bigger powertrain mustangs culd easily beat the camaro

00fan00...I do agree...the new Camaro's are ugly inside and out..93-02 were the best years...but the performace on the new ones is stronger then previous years. And Camaro's always come standard with more horsepower then Mustang...unless its one of the supercharged models...which is a little sissyish...build an all motor car...you can s/c an Intrepid and it will outrun a v8...thats the only thing I hate about the Mustang..but the new 2010 Roush 427R is the best looking Mustang I have EVER seen!

Its 2010 and the GT is just now hitting 315hp??? Wow...The Z28... which is the MID power Camaro had 315 stock back in 1998...and I would DEF chose a 290hp Nissan Maxima over a GT Mustang or any Mustang ANYDAY!!! The GT only has 25 more HP then the Maxima..and the Maxima is a better looking/sounding/all around better car then the piece of shit Ford Mustang...The Mustang GT is only capable of dragging its sorry hunk of sheet metal ass to the mall with its 17 year old chick behind the wheel.

They aren't cheaper... A Camaro, with much better components than the Stang is 31k. For 31k you get better, brakes (Brembo's), over 100 more horses, IRS, and 6 gears. It's a better car. Noway a Stang will out handle a Camaro, it has IRS bro.

Actually I bought my 2010 Mustang GT for 26K....
I tried buying a Camaro but they're so new and there's so much demand for them that they're impossible to get a deal on.
Most places wanted over 35k for an SS.
And a Mustang is 300LBs lighter so with a little after market power it can easily run with the Camaro.

U might think its cuase u drove in a 2009 stang but the 2010 has 15 more hp, better gears and is up to 6500 from 6000 rpm. btw i drive and 05 stang with only a wms intake no tune and bbk throttle body, OH and 170000 miles. I work at chevrolet and my boss raced me in a ss! Didnt work out for him. I beat him of the start with launch control on and he couldnt take me on the highway. Plus u cant see shit while in the camaro! Looks funny too
