I have a question for you..How did you get copyrighted music posted here? I see a lot and would like to do same. You guys really know how to have fun!! My quarter horse and I do lots of stuff here in the mud of western Washington but it takes a mule to do what you do. Please post some more adventures.
Welp.... I'm all in, Where do I trade in my quarter horse? lol, I actually own a mini mule that is very sporty and cool, Been thinking I need a larger luxury model.
Your Mules are amazing. I always thought mules were not capable of such things! You definitely proved me wrong...and now I wanna go out west where you are and ride your mules! Haha. They're beautiful and extremely talented!
There's an extreme lack of cowboys saying " mulepiss " instead of " bullshit" in the westerns. In fact I've only seen it in a seventies western. I've been losing sleep for the past 15 years trying to remember the name of it. Can anyone help?
I used to do this stuff back the '80s. Mules are BY FAR the most versatile animals for riding. I used to ride them up and down bluffs to show people what they are capable of. (For newbies: Don't forget the crupper!)
I am a total MULE fan!! You guys have a total trust factor with your mounts and its AWESOME, because we all know that if a mule doesn't like where he is going, he WON'T go!!
Extremely liked your video. I saw jumping mules in Virginia a few years back (for hunting coons, they said). Amazed about their jumping abilities. Well done video, music and shots, and extreme riding. Congratulations!
Okay...weeklykimberly can say whatever she wants. And you mule fans can say whatever you want either. No one going to win, so just cut it out! Everyone can have there own opinion!
Well there was nothing in the photos that I haven’t managed to get a horse to do. But having said that I now live where people use donkeys and mules in their daily lives, and I don know about mules, but I have seen donkeys go places that goats would think twice about trying, I guess its the donkey in the mule that makes them extreme.
i love mules...when i ride like that i wont even think of riding a horse! i ride in southern kansas in the gyp hills and i would never ride horse there ever!v and @ kkpanda thats correct....the stigma about mules being stubborn is false they are just very smart!
I've always wanted a mule. They're amazing animals and unlike horses, they'll stop and refuse something if they think they'll get hurt. They don't let their owners drive them off a cliff or something dangerous some people do to to their horses
thats awsome I tried to do some tricks like that yesterday and we fell and rolled a ways down the side of a mountain. so Im in a body cast for at least 4 months.
Lol at weeklykimberly, There's always someone comparing one thing to another and calling whichever they prefer better. Twilight is better than Harry Potter, Apples are better than pears, really, whats the point? Love the pictures. Never came across mules but I'd sure like to give them a try.

@weeklykimberly mules are stronger than horses..that's why they were used for the hard labor jobs back in the day. but i agree too, horses and mules are different in their own ways
@weeklykimberly Yeah..I cant really see a horse jumping off something like that. My horse is tough, but she would kink something in her leg :/ Mules are BEASTLY lol

@jensonmma most mules can do more than horses in most cases, Mules have shown they can keep going long after a horse has worn out, they are also extremely loyal creatures.
awesome! I love mules, would be great to have something with ears like that. My friesian has tiiiny ears, which is also cute, but I must admit, big ears are the love
Thanks! I checked out the website, I am thinking that gaited Jack would cross my big palamino mare.. raise my own mule! I didn't see any mules for sale at this time?
@susanspice - Hey, Susan, did you contact the folks at the Diamond D Mule Farm on SR 73 in Hillsboro, Ohio? We have bought 3 from them over the past 5 years. Awesome mules! And they are all gaited. And you get what you pay for. They have a website - if you google them, you would find it. Good luck!

And people say mules and donkeys are lazy and slow! Well forget that crap! Thumbs up if you love Horses, donkeys, muoles and anything you can ride related to a horse!
Mules often jump froma standstillright unlike horses who have to get the momentum going. With a horse you lean foward with a mule do you lean back before and during the jump?
@MariaLovesTheJoBros No the principles are the same. you're still trying to help create balance between you and them and make it easier for them to jump. If you leaned back while they were jumping up that would make it harder for them because you'd be pulling back and throwing them more off balance. When they're going up you lean forward. When they're going down lean back.
@MariaLovesTheJoBros you dont really lean back, its the same as horses, with these guys there back so far cuz some of that terrain is rough haha :] but mules and donkeys are the same as horses, except for the whole, standing still and running up to a jump part :] its called coon jumping by the way :D its a blast!
Do y'all use inserts, or drilltech on their shoes? We've got some pretty rough trails here in southwest Va, and different folks have different oppinions as to what works best. I use either drilltech or borium, whichever they have at the feed store when I run out. BTW that's awesome riding y'all are doing there.
yeah those mules are pretty awesome and i would love to get a mule colt and train him but my 3yr old stud horse would do just about all of that i would trade hime for nothing but i would like to have a mule baby
Mules will do ANYTHING for someone they trust! I've had three and hope to have another someday (have an Appy now; if he were a she, I'd be breeding for a mule baby!).
@TwilightOblivionn Quite the opposite. My family has 3 dogs and everyone that rides with us has at least one! they're just like horses. Some are bothered and some aren't just depends on the animal.
My FIL was in the veterinary core in Italy in WWII and worked with the mules. As they had so little to do they were always setting up races and showjumping. The officers banned mules from SJ as they started out jumping the horses lol.
Serioulsy though a Mule saved his life by refusing to go through a well used track, he had to turn round and the officer behind him on his horse went through in front and was killed by a bomb!
@Rimfaxe96 yes but mules aren't normally willing to do this. Sometimes horses would be stubborn and refuse. But seeing a mule top what some experienced horses can do is pretty cool.
I love this, your actually showing people that mules can do a lot more than people think! Although they are still hard headed lol. But one of the girls in this video is kinda hard on the mule's mouth that she is riding, every picture with her jumping she has the reins pulled all the way back. That could cause him to fall down. At least it does with horses.
Where do you get your mules? Have you ever been to the Baumli Draft Horse and Mule auction in Maryville, MO. There are several people who come from out west to buy mules. Good Ol' Missouri Mule
i am wondering what you all (people and mules) would do, if using a cross saddle...probably would shut up the mouth of those pedigree expensive horses, hehehe!
Mules aren't a big thing in england and when you do see them they are really small. Very rare to get them over 13hh or so. The ones you do see are withdrawn and stubborn field ornaments, not eally used for anything.
How does their training differ from horses? when you want ridable animals...
A friend regulary put his little kids on his mule and sent it home. A long days ride across the Kalahari in Botswana. The mule delivered ITSELF home safely. A mule once stopped on the trail in the black of night. No way the rider could make it move so he camped for the night. Next light he figered out why his mule was so "stubborn"... a cliff. These are "extreme" for rider, not the mules. Mules have one downside.. deadly accurate big kick. If they want you gone, you're gone.
Really like your pics... not riding I would do.. but cool! Then, at 1:14 a carbon copy of my buddy Teton. Identical looking especially under tack. Hats off to you folks. Live big everyday! Search for vid Teton Loves Apples and you'll see what I mean.
@whycantipost no they really do this. Mules arent like horses though. I would be irate to see someone do this with horses especially with no boots, but thanks to donkeys who are more like a mountain goats than horses its in a mules blood to be able to handle rough terrain like this and thanks to the horse they are big enough to comfortably ride over such terrain.. one day i will have my own kick ass mule!!!!
Im just saying what you did with these mules I can do with my horse..

Mules will do ANYTHING for someone they trust! I've had three and hope to have another someday (have an Appy now; if he were a she, I'd be breeding for a mule baby!).

I'd love to have a mule, but I've heard they don't tolerate dogs very well, and I have five, lol.
TwilightOblivionn 1 year ago
@TwilightOblivionn Quite the opposite. My family has 3 dogs and everyone that rides with us has at least one! they're just like horses. Some are bothered and some aren't just depends on the animal.
ExtremeMules 11 months ago
@ExtremeMules Really? Huh, I'd figured the donkey in them wouldn't like dogs so much. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

What an amazing video, pretty rugged country and awesome action by the mules. Looks like a lot of fun.

@HandsInTheDirtAgain Wow that is really amazing. Thank you for sharing. They're quite the animals aren't they?

Any of those mules....gaited? :O)
IcePonyGoddess 1 year ago
@IcePonyGoddess yes several of them are gaited!
ExtremeMules 11 months ago
@Rimfaxe96 yes but mules aren't normally willing to do this. Sometimes horses would be stubborn and refuse. But seeing a mule top what some experienced horses can do is pretty cool.

This is nothing against the video (I love mules too^^), but a well trained horse is also able to do that ^^

Let's put it this way for all you doubters. I am selling my Friesian herd and getting totally into mules and training them. Mules Rule!

i am wondering what you all (people and mules) would do, if using a cross saddle...probably would shut up the mouth of those pedigree expensive horses, hehehe!

Mules aren't a big thing in england and when you do see them they are really small. Very rare to get them over 13hh or so. The ones you do see are withdrawn and stubborn field ornaments, not eally used for anything.
How does their training differ from horses? when you want ridable animals...
Sasca06 1 year ago
@Sasca06 The training is at a slower pace. They need time to think and process the information.

This is photoshop right?
whycantipost 1 year ago
@whycantipost no they really do this. Mules arent like horses though. I would be irate to see someone do this with horses especially with no boots, but thanks to donkeys who are more like a mountain goats than horses its in a mules blood to be able to handle rough terrain like this and thanks to the horse they are big enough to comfortably ride over such terrain.. one day i will have my own kick ass mule!!!!
sheedalaadie 1 year ago
@whycantipost there is not one bit of photoshop in any of this video... why do you ask?
