The Antikythera mechanism is no anomally, is quite well understood, and timely placed. Its existense is no mystery, and it is no computer. Its a mechanical astronomical calendar. It can not compute any new data apart from what the cogwheels loop can give. The battery is no big feat, and certainly does not require Aliens. The Piri Reis map is not clear if it shows Antartica without Ice. All the details on that are fuzzy.Same assholes, same channel, same show, reshot every 5-10 years for 30 years

@graphattic Well, some people just love mysteries ;) The Bagdad battery is no more advanced than say a compass and you don't need knowledge of electromagnetism to create either item. Archimedes wrote a whole treatise on Antikythera-like devices, which is now lost. Cicero and other Romans described several such Greek devices. The Antikythera device itself has a dial for keeping track of the Greek Olympics. All the inscriptions are in Greek and the maths behind it are from the Hellenistic period.

Piri Reis map was much older, he admitted the map was just a copy from much older maps, which originally probably came from Alexandrie and were brought to Constantinopel. There's a number of options, one more likely than the other. Let's speculate :) - Maybe they had a technique that could melt rocks and reshape them. Maybe they developed a substance that would harden after a period of time, similar to our concrete but different in appearance. This technique I am proposing isn't low-tech. On the contrary! It raises even more questions, but you have to admit it's real plausible and would solve some riddles as to how precise the 'cuttings' (read: imprints) are.
