America has to wake up a and start investing in factories in the US. Make things and export em, thats how the chinese have ended up owning everything. America might end up a puppet to a chinese puppet master if we don't get to grips with living according to our means. Debt is not cool and is now unfashionable, smart countries have always known that.

Make sure if you buy gold, buy old coins that are twice the face value, or buy jewelry. Otherwise they may be confiscated to pay the Chinese debt.

If the economy really breaks down to a basic level then even gold coins will be just pieces of metal. You cannot eat gold.

So let me get your theory correct, you belive that when the economy goes into freefall a oz of Au and a oz of Al will be the same worth....NO WAY!! Out of all the economic crisis that the world has seen, gold has never done what you predict it to do and it never will.
For food.....MREs. They nevergo bad and are compact to store with lots of food energy.
Diverisfy you metals. Silver, gold, and military grade .223 or 7.62 hardball are all solid investments.
