  • One of the best horror videos I have seen. Just the right atmosphere to make it feel like a real nightmare. Silence is underrated in cinema, like it would be the only way to make people scared by just throwing a bunch of loud noises and weird creatures together and call it a horror movie. This is gold.

  • i wonder how many people know this but the title was the tag line to Night of the Living Dead. awsome work on the vid james

  • im hella high just watching this wow lol im sielnt as the movie just starni

  • robert smith is that u ?

  • Wow, when you're not mucking about, you're a truly great filmmaker! Great stuff, this is kinda scary.

  • Who'd of thought something made so quickly and fairly cheaply can still be executed very effectively with the right sense of direction.

This is great proof of that and I must say it all just works beautifully. The cinematography is very atmospheric and the ambient music chosen is just perfect. Flawless.

  • coolness

  • This is amazing. I'm not sure why but this is just the coolest thing. Great job.

  • i don't know why

    but i fucking love this

  • james you are amazing

  • Great work James!

  • black & white + silence = genius horror

  • do a vid compareing the old monsters to the new slasher flicks ones

  • Even a short movie like this is brilliant

  • this reminds me of my birthday. which is Halloween

  • no one gives a fuck

  • the frankenstein monster mask was used in an AVGN episode.

that little skull goblet thing gets used alot in these films too.

Gotta love consistancy! Seriously, its nice to see these things used time and time again, like they are all a part of this same universe. :)

  • reminds me a little bit of the dream sequenze in glen or glenda

  • That was creepy! :-D

With the masked group slow-mo running towards the camera with only the wind as the only form of sound. Nice touch!

  • artsy but well made

  • Excellent.

  • with the restriction placed on you for the project it came out rather well good job

  • its too artsy for my liking but was still good

  • If you can pull this off on 16mm Black and White, I suggest you should put all your films on 16mm Black and White.

  • i dont get it

  • Interesting. I have no idea what's going on, but it is incredibly creepy.

  • cool video james, yeah the sound did remind me of lynch movies too! Also, the last shot reminded me of robert smith of the cure :)

  • Brilliant work, the cinematography on that 16mm looked excellent. I have to say that half this video was the incredibly atmospheric sound. Creppy stuff!

  • i admire you as a director and movie maker and not just for your AVGN videos

  • Very cool, very creepy! :)

  • The sound rules; almost like a Lynch film - ominous.

  • Hey James, you should do a review on the film "Let the right one in" fucking amazing

  • It was actually pretty cool =]

  • That was very interesting.

  • yeah

  • i really like those last two masks that fell. Their timing was so off. :)

  • cool shit

  • Nice, i really like the dark "touch" to it :)

  • o.o

  • Got to love irony :)

  • fucking cool

  • i love the lighting in this

  • vary.......random

  • For a movie with no dialogue that is only a little over a minute long, it was quite atmospheric and promising. I wonder if the title of the film is related to the original trailer for Night of the Living Dead, where the hilariously over-the-top narrator calls it "A night of total terror."

  • cool!

  • love it!

  • A bit short to give a full opinion, but it certainly shows strong potential. Keep up the experimenting James. Maybe you can be the man that raises the American horror genre out of the insufferable Japanese remake hell!

  • creepy, definitely gave off some weird feelings as i watched it, brilliance

  • love the imagery of this.

  • fuckin excelent !

  • Awesome!

  • cool!

  • That was damn good

  • reminds me of a dream I had- very surreal

  • This movie confused the hell out of me.

  • Short but awesome

  • Nice one James.

    -- God Bless.

  • awesome man, i'm in college right now and am doing a 16mm narrative homage piece to George A. Romero's Creepshow specifically "Fahter's Day". Anyone interested in reading the script I can figure out a way to shoot it to ye.

  • Wow, that was great James!

  • music is the key to this film.

  • i pooped a little....

  • Love this! All of your videos are epic (or just different) in some way or another. =P

Love your movies, reviews, other vids James!

  • sick XD

  • aweosme!

  • dat wuz preddy 1337 4 in-class ass-signment

  • interesting...

I'm about to do a similar project in my Cinematography class (16mm film and such)

  • So that's the origin of Robert Smith, great vid!

  • cool movie!

  • 0:30 Is that the same Frankenstein mask you used for Nerdenstein? (Or was it Franken-nerd?)

Very good, especially given the constraints you had.

  • LOL yes this must be it!

  • Very nice.

  • pretty erie

  • this is preti awesome for only being allowed to use one room etc, i reli like the lighting and the shadows

  • 16mm rules!

  • niiiice

  • Cool stuff James :D

  • nice edward scissorhands wig

  • the lack of voices and being shot on a 16mm B&W filmstock makes it look classic and geniune.

    Great.

  • That was awesome.

  • James! This was pretty damn impressive for 1999 actually its pretty impressive for today's standards.

  • that was cool, and the fact that you could actually get the plot out of only 1:18 seconds of footage is impressive

  • nice one dude

  • Brilliant James, this one is pretty freaky.

  • Drone fits a lot with terror films

  • Where'd you get the ambient sounds?

  • very nice some reat visuals and sound

  • This is great, the mood you created, and I love the plot. "Those who impersonate the dead, shall join their ranks!"

  • nice work. but what did the irate gamer have to do with this?

  • pretty damn well done James! :D

  • lol it's the frankenstein mask ^.^

  • There's something Lynchian about the way the video works with the audio. Good work, James.

  • cool film, i enjoyed the background audio and the way it was shot. Also being black and white made the shadows seem way more intense.

  • im guesing it had to b a silent film =D

  • Nice

    MVHH
