I have downloaded and installed custom ROM (Docs Froyo) from XDA-Developers and I don't get any delays now. Everything is snappy and quick

My Quadrant score is around 1550

Though you are using Froyo that is blatetly the HTC Desire firmware running on the Samsung with a Touchwiz interferface. There are so many tell tale signs from the way settings menu looks to the way the applications are presented.

@JustUsGamers Froyo for the Galaxy is being released accross the globe as we speak. It aint out in the UK yet but some places in Europe have it as does Australia. Samsungs Tweet expect everyone to be on froyo by the end of October but I have heard t-mobile users wont get the update until November

I9000XXJPH owns -JPC. Clocked with only system apps @ 1000 and with lagfix around 2100!! Runs like a train. You can download the beta, but feels like final build. Enjoy!

@vexedgeneration It's called Pure calendar widget you can download different skins on it like the HTC agenda and other cool looks. Also you can make it transparant belding with the background. Very usefull and cool app. :-)

@thecousin There is issue where the productcode gets reset to a testing one, so no future updates from KIES. It can be restored by restoring your nv_data.bak files, but it's a bit hairy using a root shell to move the files around.

detail on the breakage is on xda-developers.

If you're not a bleeding edge type, definitely wait for final release I think.

I still need to fix a problem with adding the lagfix, but other than that it's very nice
