  • @cr123555 It's a 3" exhaust from the turbo back w/ no catalytic converter.

  • @dalamaarthedark this is one of the few dsms that dont have that little rice sound to it. it has a nice low rumble to it. not a high pitched honda sound lol

  • @cr123555 my dsm doesnt sound like rice mine is 3" straight pipe from the cat back and it rumbles and has a deep sound to it.

  • @cr123555 most DSM's if tuned correctly with the right exhaust, don't sound rice. I had a 92 TSI AWD with some ghetto engineered 3" turboback and it had a rumble. No weed-whacker honda sound.

  • @merlinfromberlin37 I have a 93 DSM and when I was rebuilding my exhaust, I decided to piece all mine together, and I had just a glaspack and straight piping all the way back. But oh my god did it sound so shitty. I found a fart can at a junkyard, snuck it out and threw that on, and it sounds beautiful now. 4 1/2" tip, it's loud, but not loud enough to get pulled over.

  • @dalamaarthedark Really no cat ?? are you running the full Apexi N1? Its not as loud as people said it would be.

  • @4g63attack No cat at all.  The N1 came in 2 pieces with no place for a cat unless you cut a spot to put one. The only downside is you can't slap a cat on (I shouldn't anyways). The sound is great! My friend had a 3" on his 240SX and it was unbearably loud without the silencer! I never use my silencer, and it's fine, even at highway cruising speeds.

  • @dalamaarthedark Probably because the turbo gives enough resistance in the exhaust system to keep the noise down a little.

  • It's a stock 1G Mitsubishi BOV. They can hold pretty high psi no problem. Is supposed to be recirc, but I am running it open atmosphere.

  • @Indy360Boris there really is no better. if youre running the stock maf before the turbo recirc will keep it from stalling out do to lack of air. but everyone wants to hear there bov so they vta. your car just has to be set up, use a gm maf, or speed density... if youre talking dsm.

  • Yes, it's a rewired Walbro 255 w/ all lines replaced.  i'm also running 650cc injectors for now.

  • No, the block and head are stock. All mods are currently supporting mods, fuel injectors, pump, lines, all the brakes and lines, full exhaust, tires. In the garage getting it prepped for new turbo this year, probably a new clutch/flywheel. I may try a DIY paint job too, just for giggles!

  • I ordered it through ECM Tuning. They have a newer version now called ECM Link. It has a ton of new features on it.

  • You do know what launch control is, right? It's not "popping", it's bouncing of the rev limiter I have set for launches.

  • No, not a problem. I could see how you might think that it sounds like it may be backfiring a bit, but it's just the launch control trying to keep the revs at a specific setting while at full throttle.

  • Yeah, you can hold the pedal down and it will not rev above a set rpm. That way you can just dump the clutch for your launch. You can adjust the max rpm to whatever you need to eliminate wheel spin.

  • Thats the sound of a finely tuned DSM. Its a rev limiter though the ECU to control the RPM during an AWD Launch.

  • hey i have a question it may sound kinan dumb but i jus wanna no let say i buy a eclipse non awd abd i get the a jdm 4g63 eclipse motor with awd trans and i put it in does this make the awd or no? or is it just a waste of money buying a awd trans wen it wnt wrk for the car? sum 1 answer im jus curious

  • You can convert a FWD to an AWD. It's a little more complicated than just buying the AWD transmission. You can find sites online that will walk you through it.

  • u have to get the rear axles and stuff as well, your missing parts

  • ITs a waist. And The eclipse is not JDM. The 4g63 is, but the car itself is build in normal, illinois. The JDM 4G63 would be coming for the Evolution. And as far as converting a GS or GS-T to AWD, unless your a decent mechanic that has some cash and alot of free time, and LOVES doing indepth work like that, just buy a GSX. At the end of the day its just easier and it will cost about the same depending on if you have a 1g or 2g.

  • You could try something like APEXi GIZZMO system. Their shift light has an add on launch control. Would be much cheaper than ECM Link or AEM's computer control system.

  • Hmm...I don't believe launch control on a non-turbo would be worth the price you would have to pay for it. A non-turbo couldn't put out enough HP in order to make it necessary, i.e. tire spin or wheel hop. But I you could buy an after market ecu/conroller if you really want launch control.

  • I've been debating on installing a dump tube, they sound like a v12 at full throttle!

  • you mean open dump tube? or else the o2 sensor housing is the dump tube

  • The o2 housing would have an external dump. When the waste gate opens, instead of sending the exhaust gas back into the exhaust system, it vents directly out, via the dump tube.

  • Was a great investment! Good sound, not too loud on the highway. Performance is excellent!
