Again Orr doing what he did best. cheapshotting someone. There is so many videos on youtube of him doing cheapshot all-around and he was always doing this. Punching someone who is down. Yes he was great but one of the dirtiest player ever. THere is tons of vids from him, elbowing, slashing like hextall did. he sucker punch each time he could. People should not forget that, he was a hell of a player but such a disgrace when it comes to blindside hit, slash in the face.
@HiggsPat .....cant disagree completely but no..he wasnt one of the dirtiest players around and remember the crap he had to take just to skate down the ice..
no-one could stop him with his body so the sticks were flying at his ankles all game long..and when he got cornered..everyone took the pleasure of giving him the extra hit they usually couldnt in open ice...
but yeah..he did give out some cheap shots no doubt..
Mayblob, not that you could read a "big book", but as BoSox pointed out, Orr went to Chicago as a free agent after much chicanery (look it up) from Eagleson. Never traded. Would have finished his career as a Bruin.
@rcknbkr403Why didn't Boston then claim Robert Orr off waivers from Chicago? He was put out there repeatedly, every year. Even after his career was finished. That's what finished him, nobody wanted his big salary and, handicapped knees. You your being schooled here rcknbk4. But, you know more about Molly Ringwald then I do.
@mayblob Umm........, because he retired, moron! What's your point? We all know Orr had about 7 knee operations using now antiquated medical technology.
@rcknbkr403 Then you obviously don't realize that Chicago did put Robert Orr on waivers even after he had retired. For several years. The salary it seems, was guaranteed.
My point is, you know nothing but what you read in your big book of hockey., you were not there, little American child. You were still just a microscopic egg waiting for your mom's cervix to be splashed.
You just proved my point ! With your sarcastic retired remark. Your the moron.
@mayblob "You're the moron" not "Your the moron", genius. So what if Chicago put Orr on waivers after he retired because his knees were shot? Bobby Orr was the greatest hockey player who ever lived. Get over it. He was a Bruin. Get over it. Tom Thomas has three shutouts and 0.50 GAA. Get over it! The Vancouver Canucks are a joke, forever lamenting they weren't an Original Six franchise. GET OVER IT!
I was lucky enough to be in the stands at the Colloseum as a youngster on the night that M. Paiment put four pucks between the pipes. My all time favorite NHL moment. Thanks Rosie!
Paiement was extremely tough ..he would have destroyed little Bobby, but he was been held by the linesman and, the other linesman was too busy asking Orr for an autograph.... Orr tries to tackle him at first lol...
The greatest player in the history of the game fights your goon, and you go looking for excuses. Amazing. Orr backed down from no one. but never fought to the detriment of his team. Paiment, I think, owns a sports bar in Miami. Orr is a legend.
@mayblob No, Bobby got dealt to Chicago when Alan Eagleson neglected to tell Bobby that the Bruins offered him 10% ownership in the team to stay in Boston for a little less money. Eagleson wouldn't have gotten a percentage of the ownership, so he told Bobby that Boston was low balling him and to sign with the Blackhawks. You remember Alan Eagleson don't you? He's the guy who used pension funds to line his pockets and those of his friends through fraudulent business ventures.
That is Beautiful... Any idea what year this was. Must be from Boston TV. Oldest Canucks footage I may have ever seen. Even looked like Bobby might have been bloodied a little... Can't be sure with old color footage. Thank YOU Mike8219 and the Rosie Paiement story with Reveen by hockeybooks... Icing on the Cake
Bobby Orr fought Rosaire twice, and wound up with two black eyes. I remember those shiners like it was yesterday. The Paiement brothers were not to be messed with.
Rosaire Paiements' father used to eat a pound of butter a day with his meals ..... true stuff

I still say that Bobby Orr could not fight. The greatest player of all time yes. But fought like a woman.

@syxtynyne BUT, he DID fight, and throw punches, which is a lot more than what most contenders for 'best ever hockey player' attempted. ;)

great story about rosie:

he was hypnotized by "Reveen" , to try and break out
it didn't work...LOL
