@dyllman5 lol. No worries, but actually no one lives in the Midgar Slums anymore. The town in Advent Children (I'm assuming thats what you're talking about) is called, Edge. It is, like it's name suggests, a town made on the Edge of Midgar by the people that left Midgar before or after Meteor. Cloud however made the old church in Midgar his home after he found out he had Giostigma. Characters like Denzel, & possibly a few other homeless stragglers, may still live there, but no one "lives" there.

Advent Children is placed three years AFTER the events of FFVII while Dirge of Cerberus is placed two years after. the game even says "two years later"

Advent Children could not have happened before the final confrontation with Sephiroth because, as Marlene states at the beginning, the planet used the life stream to stop meteor and that didn't happen until after the final battle and left behind was the geostigma. Pay attention to the details and you will see the true path! o.O
