I read Massad Ayoob's articles in Combat Handguns all the time. He really knows his stuff. I am curious, as a minority myself has Ayoob been criticized and/or feared by the majority of Whites who are in this field.

It's the criminals with guns that are the bad guys and they're probably not going to carry their guns openly on their hip in walmart. they're going to keep them hidden until the last second and then if you're not armed you are at their mercy.
what's missed in the discussion of open carry is that for the most part in open carry states people do not react to open carry, in my part of the world in certain jurisdictions (he is permissible and I have done it a fair amount of times.
No one has ever reacted badly to this and I think the reason is that most of the time people assume that you're a police officer when you are open carrying, mainly because someone behaving normally doesn't draw attention even if they are carrying a gun
He's my hero. I've read this man's articles for years, and I have most of his books. You would all do very well to read and listen to this man. He is among the best, most knowlegable people in the business. I've never personally heard him speak until this very video, so thank you for posting this. It is a life goal of mine to be able to one day afford to attend a class of his at LFI. I hope I do it before he passes on. He's not OLD, but he started on this in the 70's. A great man indeed.
