I grew up in Santee, and it used to be a blast going to El Cajon....this was back in the 70's -time flies.....Midnight Movies at the Parkway Bowl and UA, Trip West, 50,000 books.
I even got my first Rolling Stones album at the Salvation Army used store....I know it's different now......but I can still see it all in my mind....I miss it.
El Cajon is NOT a trashy Placee ! Yess there Miqht Be A LOT of Ganqs & Druqs , But There are WORSE placess & A lot Of People know Eaach other Out here , & they havee alot Of Respect So you People Neeed to Stop talkinq So Much Shit!
ahah i live here in el cajon i think its funny how ppl talk all this shit about it.. i lived here 13 years and its not even that bad.. u ppl are all trippin..
People should live in North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Manitoba, or Ontario. Then they'd appreciate El Cajon, CA
At least the Unarius Academy of Science is there. Fargo, ND (where I live) the people just moved out of the cave into the mud hut. At least they discovered fire. I hope they invent the wheel soon.
El Cajon has ALOT less criminals/violence/riff raff/theives/zombies than North Park, Hilllcrest, East Village, Normal Heights, Downtown San Diego, Golden Hill, ect.
I have lived in both El Cajon and in Hillcrest/Downtown San Diego/ North Park, ect. and El Cajon is SQUEEKY CLEAN compared to what goes on in Central San Diego.
I was born & raised in El Cajon for 42 yrs. I was a cadet and reserve with El Cajon Police. I left San Diego because the entire county of San Diego is getting more crowded with traffic - just like LA, although not quite that bad. El Cajon IS A DUMP. It wasn't when I was young. El Cajon has more apt's per capita than any other city I know. I'm sure there might be a few good streets, but for the most part, El Cajon needs to be flattened and then rebuilt.
El Cajon is a trashy and nasty city. the weather there is hotter than anything. It also has a lot of crime and gangs. you're absolutely crazy if you think it's a nice place. People in San Diego city call El Cajon the (Eye Sore) of the entire county. Its majority low class and not safe. I lived there from 1999 to 2001 because my ex-girlfriend was from there. you seem like a cool person but im sorry, El Cajon is a ghetto town with a lot of bad stuff and creepy people.
ummmm....I am not creepy. My family is not trashy. What bad stuff? Theft? That is most of what happens out here. But wait a minute... that happens everywhere! And just to be clear... Gangs are everywhere!!!! People in El Cajon at least have some respect for each other. By the way my street is not trashy. And there happen to be a lot of great people that live in El Cajon. I have lived here for 20+ years. By the way where did you live in El Cajon?
I you think el cajon is ghetto than you dont know san diego because el cajon is nowhere near the ghetto. And as for low class people there everywhere you cant get away from them. And as for creepy people i guess you never went down to OB.LOL.And bad stuff happens everywhere remember OJ.
@lifethwy Its funny cause you go to the arab part of main street, it is always busy with shoppers and buyers and businesses. Then you go to the "new and improved" downtown el cajon( the anglo part) and it has a few businesses and overall low attendance (hopefully the 24hr fitness will change that). None the less, the chaldeans are the economic engine of el cajon and rancho san diego. Rancho has lots of chaldeans yet no mention of a "loss of character." el cajon had no character to begin with.
Forgot to add very interesting. I have lived here all my life. Uranius lol it's been there forever. I claim to be the first mexican in El Cajon but just din have meck friends. I was close to S.America and seen shirt listing Paris London New York El Cajon lol.
You must have alot of green shirts cause i saw you crossing the street in front of me within last weeks. But did you know El Cajon appears on most world globes?
@grimmyx i assume you know what "El Cajon" means right? "the box" or sometimes people call it the bowl, which annoys the shit outta mean. its named "the box" because it is surrounded by mountains
@tjockee1 Yes. I know about the box. That's why I can only get 6 channels on my tee vee cause I'm one of the four people in the US that doesn't have c able. LOL
el cabong is the same crap hole i remember it to be -do you have a bellet proof jacket living there yet-i heard there is a lot of drive by shittings,recently-
I understand and looking at my own videos I have no room to say anything about someone else's production! You're a good sport and now that I know it wasn't vanity that put you in the middle of your videos you look kind of cute peeking over the bottom of the frame :)
I love your kitty-cat and the whole idea of the tour however, not to be rude, but why must you have your face right in the front of what people want to see?
That's not rude and you bring up a good point. 1. I claim n00b status when I made this. And I'm still learning and 2. My cam at the time had a awful mic. I would have been better off just dubbing in my voice later. I'll work on making my videos better.
I just moved to Portland, OR from El Cajon, CA and I swore I wouldn't miss El Cajon, but after watching your video (again), I'm getting a little sad :(
Kip's Cafe is a fameous Chinese resturaunt that has been in El Cajon forever. They were at the corner of Magnolia and East Main since at least the 1950s. They moved to their current location at 2nd street and Madison about 10 or so years ago. Great food, every native of El Cajon MUST eat there!
Loved this vid! You have brought me some great memories back to mind of the city I grew up! Are you a native of southern Cali? I grew up in El Cajon, Lakeside and Santee. Thanks again!
I'm not really a native of anywhere. I grew up in a military family. I've lived in El Cajon for about 6 years. Before that I lived in Santee ans Downtown San Diego.
OH BROTHER GRIMMY!! LMBO!!! OH OH OH !!! God bless you brother!! OH! I assume ur using a tripod. I mean, it looks like you're nearly getting killed to get us some vid, there. LMBO! I love your sarcastism throughout this thing!!! thank you. brightened my morning! that's 5+++ stars and favorited ;)
Hahaha, booze and guns for weekend fun. I used to live behind the courthouse in the Goldcoast apartments. People used to come and paint message in the parking lot of the apartments so people up in the jail could see them. Hahaha, only in El Cajon. I love it!
Hey Grimmy, I always enjoy your tours. I think it's always interesting to see the true life surroundings of someone you only know from the internet. It makes the person seem that much more "real" somehow. I look forward to the next one. "Anything that you could possibly need for a pleasant weekend, is under that roof." Lol.
I used to live Littary down the Street from Nicks.. Ahh the memories..
