is there anyway i can now get the contacs back? ? ? i just did this on my dads phone without meaning too! doesnt matter about messages but is there anyway in the world of getting the contacs back after doing this??? please reply ASAP
@TheLoLTricks Go To Options/Password and enable Password. Then go back to main screen. Lock the screen and then enter pasword incorrectly 10 times. The phone will reset after the 10th incorrect entry.
how do i do a factory reset on my 9700 bold? there's no General Settings when i got into Security Options. There're only Advanced Security Settings and Security Wipe? I did perform a Security Wipe but it doesnt help bring back the factory settings
@edge7ash Thats the eay to do it. Alternatively, you could set a password on the phone & then enter it wrong 10 times. The security feature will kick in and it will reset the BB to factory settings.
@LatinBarbie009 A BB is programed to reset itself back to factory settings when you enter the password incorrectly 10 times. It is a security feature, incase someones BB is stolen and the person who got it tries to hack into the data of the BB. So this feature can be used to your advantage. Let me know how it goes.
Wadhiamod, I have a BlackBerry from Verizon but it has been flashed to work on Metro PCS but because I bought the phone used it has the others person's info for example the bbm. So my question is if I do this master reset will I still be able to used it with Metro PCS?
@joemagma A master reset will reset the software which is on the BB. As you mentioned that the BB has been flashed, which means it no longer has the original software from Verizon. Doing the master reset on this BB will set it back to how it was, just after the flash was carried out. You should still be able to use it on Metro PCS & also the BBM. Thanks
wadhiamod, does this also get rid of all the mobile operator settings? i'm on vodafone and i want the start up screen and browser to be NON-vodafone. will this erase all traces of it?
@blatrever When you reset it will become exactly how you took it out of the box the first time when you bought it. If you are asking me whether it will work with other networks?, then you need to check with Vodafone if it is a unlocked device or not. If not then you will need to pay them some money to send you an unlock code. Also you will need to tell them to delete your Blackberry account from their systems. Only then it will work with a diff network. Hope that answers youyr question
i need help My Blackberry messanger Doesnt work, When i invite a contact and write their pin, it only says Penging and i tried it with my friend. the invitation does come on his BB. I Cant get invites from anyone else... If i were to wipe handheld my whole black berry, how would i get a new black berry messanger again?
@BeeStarr A master reset does not lead to losing the BBM PIN. However you will need to set it up again...like how you would have done when you first set the BB up. Nowadays one can use the BBM application to backup your BBM contacts.
