damn you only need a turbo timer if your revin ur shit right before turning it off! sure it dosent hurt to let it idle before killin it but come come on if ur pullin into a parking spot ur not usin ur turbo for shit! unless you got a really high dollar turbo this is not worth the money!
if he can close the doors with the alarm. that means that there is no kill switch. so thats happing here is that onces someone wants to steal it. the alarm is going to go off but its not going to stop it from tunning on the engine. which in the that what we want. turbo timer with a kill switch
hey man i just got a turbo timer for my turbo'd is300, not installed yet, can you tell me one thing? my keyless entry doesnt work (transponder itself not the key), so i cannot lock my car with the key fob, and by default the IS will not let you lock the doors when the key is in the ignition and the door is open. with the TT, can you lock the doors like that and stay locked, since there is no key in the ignition? or will they just unlock right away? thanks
it keeps the motor running in order for the turbo to cool down properly....Then shuts it down by itself on timer, or remote like in this video.
Most turbos are oil cooled, some come waiter/oil. Once the engine stops, no oil is flowing and it will coke up instead of cooling it....When your turbo is hot, you don't want to just shut the car down because it will not cool down enough and the oil coking up will eventually kill the turbo.
People will always beat there turbo and get it hot then they just shut there engine without waiting for there turbo to cool down . If the turbo is not cool down it builts pressure and leak oil. If you do not have a turbo timer then your turbo will always leak oil. With out oil ur engine can blow.. Turbo timer is a must for all turbo cars. Once you turn off your engine the turbo time stays on untill ur turbo cools down, once your turbo is cool down then the turbo timer shuts off. I think right?
Hey dude i just installed a turbo timer and my car is only a 1.0cc and the guy says if i just turn off the engine and take out the key , my engine will shut off , but if i want the turbo timer to work then i have to rev it up abit , and while reving up abit i then turn off and take out the key.. anyone know if this is okay? and will it damage my car if i rev in park gear (auto) rev lil bit then shut down my engine just like that?
ya pretty much what heshan said but nowadays they can act as a speedo, you can time your laps, 1/4 mile times, they can act to tell you when to shift, they can pretty much do alot of things now
It's too keep the turbo supplied with oil while the turbo spins down. Otherwise it will be starved of oil and causes excess wear and premature damage to the turbo. Nothing to do with cooling as a turbo can run very hot anyway!
hey man random question but did you have to splice the tt-7 wiring harness to make the turbo timer work right?

it gives time for the turbo to cool down after a drive

it's for people too lazy to sit in their car 30 seconds to a minute to let the turbo cool down.

There should be a manual setting on your turbo timer where you can set how long it runs. Revving just causes excess heat not good for your car.
