I disagree with this guide about the part where you choose warrior over master. I like master better because it varies the attacks and all of that good stuff. Master will have either bos or fade active all the time unlike warrior.

Try a Wake of Fire sin my favorite of all time and ive made every build.. You stun them with mind blast and once trapped they cannot teleport out of wake without insane faster hit recovery. Pisses people off and is very enjoyable, must have all the gear to make it work..

i have a martial arts sin and ya ur right its strong but not like godlike like a hammer paly or zeal, i got phoenix strike at 26 but problem is i need way stronger wepons than claw to do the damage i need done on hell mode

@AvienLotus Still, the -% enemy res mod is quite awesome ^^ 25% fcr too. Shako, btw, is highly underrated, tons of mana & life, 10% dr, of course 2skills... I'd still take griffon.

@Vizzztor Since traps are considered "minions" and not "spells" they are not effected by the % to light dmg or the -% light res. They are not affected by FCR either. They are effected by IAS. Read up in Arreat Summit.

i cant beliave u dont have a hotkey for cloak of shadows lol its one of the most useful assasin skills . Btw fade also gives passive physacal damage reduction (not that trapsin would need that). Cool guide (video) anyway. Never realized fire blast can do so much fire dmg. Pretty cool u dont have to rely only on lighting with trapsin.

I'm trying to find information on martial arts assassins. I've never made a serious character on Diablo 2 before, on an old computer I got a trap assassin with lots of points in shadow disciplines and couldn't get past the quest before baal on normal. I was thinking about going with a martial arts assassin for the single target damage that you get with it. any thoughts? and where can I get more information on diablo 2 builds?

shadow master is way better in power and res..they can be almost completly immuned to elemental attacks...shadow warrior is more of a micromanage player..master will mind blast like a bitch for you and provide more mind blasting. Always better to have a good mind blast master then a weak trap laying warrior

Thx, for your guide-videos. They are very helpfull.

But often it´s hard to follow these, because they seem very item-hungry. I just started again with D2 and have no items at all. I often run into mana-issues because the guides state to not invest in energy. But a hammerding for example is very hard to level without points into energy when you don´t have the items. Now I will try the trap assassin, perhaps it´s not that hard to level because of mana.

Regarding my post below, I show weapons and try to trade them to would-be trap assassins... and they laugh, scoff and berate them. It is amazing how little the general d2 community understands. Some people put bartucs in the trade window and say, "This WAY better, NOOB!" It's pretty laughable.

To the people that know what these claws are worth... they can go for an absolute fortune. I've sold them for 20 hrs about a yr ago. Since rune prices drop all the time, they are probably worth 40 hrs now

Better weapons would be greater talon claws with +2 assassin skills / +3 traps with +3 lightning sentry. This would give you +5 or +6 to your traps tree per claw, so when duel wielding these claws, you'd get +10 or +12 to skills from both of your weapon slots.

Then you want to get these socketed. You can get 1 or 2 sockets per claw, to give you 2-4 sockets total, depending how lucky you are.

This is ultimate weapons for this build, even though people laugh that they are blue weapons.

i just downloaded a mod for d2 (Hell Unleashed if ya know it), and made a trapsin, im running into a technical problem and i dunno if its becuz blizzard changed it in a patch or the mod made it this way (its been YEARS since i played d2 bnet), and the problem is that i cannot summon a trap anywhere besides right under/next to me. I recall being able to summon them in a far distance where my mouse is when i used to play, so whats the deal? Am i not doing something right or its just the mod?

go with fire blast, it is a synergy for lightning sentry, or was it death sentry, but either way it boosts up your later traps.

or just go with shadow disclipined ( the one that gives increased run & casting speeds)

Dansard is right, shadewarrior uses the same spells uve got "active" atm, so he overcasts your traps with low lvl traps that deal less damage, because u can only have 5 traps, including those of your shadow. Shadow master casts mindblast and converts mobs which dont take aoe damage in the time they r converted.

And: Corpse Explosion, aka death sentry: use 1 at all times for higher kill speed!

And if u use the right items and dont only go for imba damage, "boost of speed" will make gameplay even more fun and u dont need permanent "fade" active ...

that is unless u actually use teleport for normal movement and dont run/walk at all.

Using fireblast while traps do their work give u something to do and make gameplay more fun too. Plus u can pinpoint 1 mob so it dies faster and death sentry can use Corpse explosion faster -> killspeed up

Well done. Some opinions though. Martial arts tree can be used. A one-point cobra strike is helpful. This is up to personal preference of course.

Shadow master has better stats, and it also uses your skills. The more points you have in a skill, the more often he'll use it. They're both good in different ways.

Cloak of shadows is more than a prereq. It's onle of the best defensive skills in the game. It's similar to the necromancer's dim vision. Enemies will just stand there. Try it out
