Eastbourne is not good for foreigners. There are a number of people shouting at me when I walk in the town. I doesn't happen in Brighton, London, or anywhere else. My Asian friend has a 10 months old baby, but just a normal kid threw a succor ball towards the baby. it didnt hit him but if it did, he would have died. They don't feel guilty about these things.
Yea Eastbourne is not the ritz but you have to remember that is is a popular seaside town and i do enjoy it for what it is and if you do get to know the right people then it is a very pleasent town to live and work in and never look at the negative as that is being sorted out but we do have a load of very popular shops and attractions around if they are used correctly

i live there and the beach sucks. you cant go 20 seconds without passing some old guy sitting on a bench looking at you. DONT GO TO THE BEACH!!! go to the DOWNS
Its really not that bad, its nicer then a hell of a lot of other places, and people say its full of old people, so is everywhere else, the reason for that is because its such a nice place, they want somewhere nice to die :/
also, its a good atmosphere in the summer, because all the young people are out not the old, its actually really nice then...

Eastbourne Vice...there's a lot of knocking shops around Eastbourne. I prefer it in the winter when the sea is rough and it's quieter

Funnily enough, I would suggest avoiding the coastal towns.
The smaller towns and villages around the Tunbridge Wells and Uckfield areas are quite nice.

Redoubt Fortress Rocks.
Lifeboat Museum Rocks.
Langney Shopping Centre Rocks.
The Crumbles Rock.
Shinewater, Willingdon, Meads and Old Town Rocks.
The train leaving Eastbourne definately Rocks!
