  • I always do this.. never knew it was a massage!

  • Thank you for making this! I'm going to try it out on my horse!! U hope he likes it!! I'm sure it will relax him alot!!! :D

  • I recently got a massage for the horse I am leasing...best decision ever! She loved it!

  • I think this used to be my friends horse. She donated a horse just like this one a few years ago and her name was ladybug.

  • My lease just hurt her back and in result is layed off on rest for the winter... Is there any techniques I can use to help her back feel a bit better for her and maybe heal a bit better or quicker?

  • Thank you for this wonderful video! I am looking into offering services to some therapy horses and rescued horses. This has helped a lot! Thanks again!

  • Umm do we do this on both sides? yes...?

  • @Zanthoraz Yes Zan, you want to work both sides pretty much equally.

  • @ottopasquier umm..that horse does NOT look abused. The horses at that school are used for therapy. Ladybug is just used a bit too much, according to what the therapist implied. Some people just don't know that horses need to be massaged sometimes. Just like they don't know THEY need it....they are naive not disgusting.

Instead of putting them down, how about concentrate on educating them?

  • Thank you!

  • That horse is gorgeous! and that massage is really useful! i'll try it :)

btw the horse has a nice butt :) really

  • This video relaxes me!... lol

  • @manfco Glad I'm not the only one. Whenever I see some type of massage I relax. :)

  • I learned some of these the other day by my coach/equine massage therapist because my new mare is so sore, shes been forced into a fake frame and has a fake hunter butt and is super sore! Ive been doing this for about 3 days now and Ive seen a HUGE improvment. We have bonded so much and she is feeling alot better!

  • thank you very much!

  • Great video! We have two lovely horses at home and during the winter it is not always great to be outside so standing in the barn and giving them a little massage helps to build our bond and spend some time together. These basic tips are exactly what I was looking for and Barb did a great job describing everything. Thanks...

  • ..........Wel I went through this 2 week course and no that is not what makes you experience expert or anything but certified thourgh experience is how you become experienced just like any other profession.

  • .......... I mean the first time a doctor experinces something new he's not experienced even if he learned about it his 8 yrs of school! School only gives you the knowledge not the experience or qualification you have to do this for yourself!!

Certified Equine Massage therapists are a God send and you can confirm this by observation!so instead of sitting at your computer complaining get off your butt and go out to the barn with your local Eq Massage Therapist!

  • The comment by BPayjack sounds like jealousy and sour grapes to me. The lady here demonstrating equine massage is very good with horses and very articulate. I would trust her. So quit sqawking.

  • GREAT VIDEO, GOOD JOB

  • Thanks a lot for uploading this. Will be of great help to unproffessional horse lovers.

  • Thank you! That was very helpful and I am certain there are a few horses out there that will enjoy these techniques being used.

  • Wonderful video!

  • @BPayjack Ya know what, there are no laws about having to be certified or not. And honestly there are some people who will go through the 2 year course just so they can charge a lot of money and they give crap of a massage, and then there are those who can't afford those two years..or even the two week/month courses and teach themselves and are fantastic!!

  • i know that one way to stretch out their back is to grab their tail and pull downwards, when i do that with mine, he'll move around so that it's near impossible. what can i do?

  • hahah cool..

BTW the horse is taking a crap behind the lady..

  • omg it is!

hahah if i was the person videoing it. i'd be laughing

  • She sure does think alot for the horse! Unfortunately I don't think the treatment techniques were effective enough. Whether you do shiatsu on humans or horses you need to know how to recognise release signals. Its quite simple really, without pressing firmly you wont release the endorphins, theraputic pain is needed... All I see is plenty of stiring stuff up but not much releasing and letting go.
