The rest of North Sudan is built, there are numerous projects in Kourdofan, Al Jazeera, Kassala. A highway has just been set up between sudan and Ethiopia. Secondly, there aren't any other natural resources that are exploited in Sudan apart from Oil, the only other source of income that the government receives is from agriculture that's it.
Third, the reason Khartoum is the most built up is because it is our capital, it's the buisness center of Sudan, there are 5million people who live there in a population of 30 million.

As I said before,Sudan is a federal system, the government is not supposed to take care of everyone, Khartoum reflects the people who live there, educated and wealthy. The rest of North Sudan is built, there are numerous projects in Kourdofan, Al Jazeera, Kassala. A highway has just been set up between sudan and Ethiopia. What the hell have you janubies achieved with the 10 billion you received from the north.

Jeazan, I grew up here in the west (1996-present) with friends from Northern Sudan. They are sincere people. Therefore, Sudan problem is not with Sudanese people, but with the ruling elites. This prestige group are skillful liars. They use demagogue and religion rhetoric to stay in power. For the sake of Sudan unity ( if northerners are really serious about it) the ruling elite must be forces to leave power or change their way of business.

I think this conflict get supported by a lot of factors and further I think one of the most occuring errors been made is thinking, that Sudan can be measured like a normal national state. Thats what makes it so complicated: the lost souvernity of the state over its power.
That leades to a lot of conflictpartners.
There is quit a interest-pluralism in this conflict, so it is hard to talk about 'THE' initial start.
The sudanese situation is somehow a relict from colonialisation.
