i think that i saw in part 2:06 zelos the last boss for salamander .

but he is just a piece of scrap lol .

as i know that this stage is just like a scrap for the old bosses in older gradius series .

didn't you noticed that there was bigcore mk-i - crystal core - and even death mk-ii with teto ran in the middle of the stage ? that they tries to attack you from they're own scrap .

Yes. I wonder how come Gradius V went back to using the old cores (Mainly from Gradius 1-2-3) and didn't use any from this game.
