QUIT BING MEANIES PEOPLE COME ON AND NO WHO EVER SAYS HE IS A PUSSY THEN YOU MUST HAVE NO HEART HE APOLIGIZED DIDN,T HE SO SUCK IT AND KEEP IT TO YOURSELF
Why in the seven hells is someone with motion-sickness that bad a co-driver? Just work the time analysis or something, don't distract your driver by having such a weak stomach... Selfish, if you ask me.
@sativadivinorum actually you would be surprised how many of the best co drivers out there get car sick. most of them have found their own method that prevents them from yacking all over, anything from ginger, to the sea sick patch is used by many co drivers. if you ever make it out to an event, take a peek behind the ears of the co drivers, i bet you see a lot of little white patches.
I have to say, I love your sense of humour...poor co driver though. "Don't dish it if you can't finish it" is all I can say. Then again, you mentioned he was willing to fork out half the entry fees. Betcha he wasn't aware of what he'd be up against!
@di3solid why would you actually WANT To codrive and not shoot for actually bein the rally driver himself..? didn't think anyone would actually want to do that. just stepping stones to be the driver. it's like wanting to be a copilot of an airliner and no the captain.
lots of people co drive because they don't want to deal with all the costs of ownership of a rally car. in most cases the driver owns, maintains, fixes, pays for everything about the car. if you are just a co driver, you show up, co drive and go home. a lot of people are part of rally that don't drive. organizers, sweep and medic crews, volunteers and none of them are paid. it's all for the love of the sport.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! I feel bad for the guy, but that is friggin hilarious!! Totally kept his composure through the whole thing lol!! "raaallfff.. Im good dont worry about me. raaaallff" lol!! Props to you guys!
Exposures generally mean there is something big on one side or the other. Mostly like drop offs, sometimes water, large holes you don't want to put your car in.
well couple things, one this was a third race, so come on you can't expect Colin Mcrae right out of the gate, and two the camera gives nothing to the speed that was really happening. i have video of us breaking 100 and it looks like we are doing 45.
i m 15 and going to be a programmer, and i want to know how i can get on a rally stage and drive too
i know i will need a car with about 150 HP or more, a rollcage 6 point(is good) 2 racing seats and 4 point harness on both seats, and a racing suit and helmets, but
what do i need to have or do else and how much would it be to mod a (bmw 30) or peugot 204 to rallyieng standard or minimum?? please reply
They make motion sickness patches that a lot of codrivers wear. I would reccomend them to whomever this codriver is. Thankfully ive never even come close to needing them.
Here's to the co-drivers, the guys who put up with too much while the drivers get most of the glory.
During my second ever and (so far) last rally in 2002 my co-driver was perfect till he somehow got off the pace on his notes thanks to misinformation from me. Long story short we killed the suspension on the car, went out, got our bumps etc...
ya i know i live in vernonia...nothing better then getting a shit car u dont care about sawzall the doors off, chain the exhaust to a tree and drive off and go out on the main lines... or just drift around my field
The situation itself is very funny, but how the hell he felt sick in a car going so slow? ;-) I hope that in future he will be used to higher speeds, or your car will look worse inside than outside (even after several rolls) :-)))
BTW - the subaru boxer engine makes music to my ears!!!
actually he's done co driving. a rally we did later in the year he was sick for most of the day. we knew he got car sick going into this and fought it off for quite awhile.
I only get motion sickness when trying to read but can't see any windows in my periferal vision or if Im on a ship but sea sickness *motion sickness* pill really do help but gotta take them 30 mins before
I love how he's so polite in the circumstances.
Interesting experience for you I'm sure.
North america kinda sucks for fun curvy roads like this, Europe is amazing. even for just tarmacked country roads night is best so you know if other drivers are around cause you spot there lights.
@mellow1965 why did you pick him up and allow him to codrive for you if u knew he had remotely even a chance of carsickness problems? u were aware, thsi was bound ot happen. did u even pick him or was he assigned to you? were you not very happy with him?
@KuostA we knew he may have had problems. but he was my brother inlaw and he was willing to pay for half the entry fees. so i went with it. i don't use him anymore, he just couldn't handle it anymore.
To be fair though you wern't exactly flying and the pace notes are pretty sketchy to say the least! When I drive I want to know everything! My average pace note goes something like 3 left 60 over crest don't cut etc... or 4left 40 tightens into 4 right 50 over crest cut... you get the picture.
welcome to wonderful world of being a novice. you don't get your fancy notes as a novice. also no one said we were flying, and what you hear is all we get in our book.
pace notes provided by organizers are usually shit ... good for novices but if you like to go ALOT faster then alway use the two pass recce lets you refine your notes to perfection
this was nothing compared to the last rally we just did. there were stages that all he could do was try not to puke. sadly i didn't have the camera in there at that time.
Man I'm glad this doesn't happen to me.
