  • i think both were great, at first i was shocked at how different fmab was to fma but after i did a little research i understood why. so in a general respect for someone who would teach people why i must admit, you sir are awsome.

  • @icereaper88 Ma'am* <3 but thanks.

  • In the characters not shown in the manga you forgot two important recurring characters, Russel and Fletcher.

  • Woah, okay that was a LOT of spoilers (none for me though), but I enjoyed watching it. Haha! And I love the music when Bradley was on the screen with scenes from episode 56 and with the music used from Lust's death, "Battle Scherzo". It made him seem like a hero and not a villain (which I'm totally on board with cause he's not a bad guy! :D)

  • Everyone who came from Xing is own except for Fu... but Fu's death made Ling Yao 50x stronger =D

  • FMAB was much better over all. Although I will admit FMA had some amazinf emotional scenes, Izumi thrashing Ed was my fave scene out of both series.

  • the first ending sucked so fmab is coool

  • Personally both of them are good. I prefer fma brotherhood cuz it follows the manga. But both are good in their own way.

  • i liked the first one and the way they ended it but it was left open for another series witch i didnt like but this one was just as injoyable and i liked how they ended it and their not being another one witch is the way a good series should be done.

  • Plus you have to Note the fact that Hiromu Arakawa Wasent done with the manga when FMA was over you have to think FMA was scheduled from the beginning to air for a year and the show aried on saturdays 4 or 5 times a month and the manga only released one chapter per month so about halfway they had to start making stuff up and you have to admit the Plot was still Awesome so noting that that was the only difference when they made the show the manga wasent Complete

  • Actually a little fact The first series Followed the manga Exactlly Qith a few parts In brotherhood they didnt have the train Ride with hughes and that bandit And also in Brotherhood they Say Ishval and in the original its ishbal and in the manga it is aswel ishbal! So take that But you still have to admit they both are really kickass i mean when the firs series ended i was ike NOOOOOOOOOOO then i watched The first movie conqueror of shamballa and the ending tied up FMA FTW ALL HATERS MUST DIE!

  • But you have to judge a series on all it's episodes. If brotherhood did not want to be judged by eps 1-14 they should have done a better job on them. But I like the beginning of the manga's storyline better then the middle and end.

  • @Hadam10Rose In what way are the opening episodes of the original FMA better than those of FMA:B? FMA started off following the manga, and then went a different direction because they caught up to the manga. FMA:B simply follows the manga from beginning to end. You act like it's a knock on FMA:B that the first 14 episodes are similar, which just shows a lack of knowledge about the situation. Otherwise, you're saying the FMA did those episodes better. In which case: erm, how, exactly?

  • @RadicalRomReviews for one they are not rushed, if you actually watched an episode, and read it's perspective manga chapter, you would see so much is cut out in the beginning, in bhood, hell both series don't do Greed's story arc justice (Not Greedlin, just Greed) Now I hate bhood and the manga because of the what I think is a cheesy ending, I used to just hate bhood for cutting up the story I like, and it climbed to be true to, but then that ending came and I just lost all love for that story.

  • @RadicalRomReviews Contiued : I hate bhood for more reasons then just the ending, but I don't want to get into a fight over which one is better, we both have opinions and we should respect each others.

  • @Hadam10Rose Was not expecting an actual reply, thought from the tone you were just an original FMA fanboy! I would argue that if they didn't rush it as they did at the beginning it wouldn't have succeeded as it did in getting fans of the original to watch the new show - even knowing what I knew, I was hesitant to get into FMA:B since I had watched the original so many times and didn't want a rehash, even if it was just for a few eps. And I would argue that there are other qualities, such as

  • @Hadam10Rose (cont.) the animation and comedic aspects that redeem the beginning over the original. Haven't finished FMA:B so can't comment on much past this. But to each their own, I respect your opinion but personally think that the animation is much better, the comedy is more present and funny, and overall the quality is higher for this initial, comparable part. Would (so far) recommend it more readily to an anime newcomer over the original

  • @RadicalRomReviews Well I would say that yes, I am a fan of fma2003, but I also used to be a huge fan of the manga, which is why I wasted so much of my pay check on vol1-22 of the manga, heck my last account was named Greedlin, but that ending killed it for me, and I would say yes, Tell people who want to watch an anime, watch bhood, put if you want a good tv series, watch Fullmetal Alchemist (The First Series)

  • A little too spoiler heavy IMO but otherwise a good video.

  • Not completely different they played in the snow in both seasons

  • fma was made on b day :)

  • ooo you forgot envy is a leech

  • I think the main story in FMAB is better but i still prefer the ending in FMA. I mean seriously, parallel dimension relating the whole story to our actual world !!! My mind was blown especially with Beethoven 5th symphony ... it's my favorite endig of all animes i watched. I am happy I didn't read the manga because i could see it in FMAB later. BTW,u did a great job but u really shouldn't have put so many spoilers. Good thing i watched it before lol

  • @MegaIronica I'm considering remaking a less spoilery one.

  • i like how theres such a difference in the animes..... personally i prefer brotherhood..... but the first one was still really good.... the only thing i dislike about the first one is the change in characters and their appearances..... if they had all the characters info and appearances then it would have been like watching alternate endings or something like that.........

  • 3:05 pwned

  • thank you so much for sending me to this video!!

  • Thank you for not showing any specific bias toward either of the two stories. Each FMA fan can have their own preference-- I'm glad you didn't end it with bait for people to flame over. (People will always debate anyway, but hopefully it remains respectful.)

  • man, you said there would be "slight" spoilers, mainly homunculi based, but there were a lot of spoilers concerning characters as well other than just the homunculi. pride for example and greed-ling those should be secret until they happen. lucky i have seen this entire show (actually its my 2nd favorite anime.) and for some reason i just cant stand fma. its crap

  • watched all the episodes, twordes the ending of it lots of people start dieing, it depressing!!!

  • I havent gone far into the fma brotherhood series but did I saw Ling becoming the new greed? Aww man Ling is awesome :(

  • I did enjoy a lot more the plot in the manga than in the first serie. I got really happy that they had the work to redo a new serie following the manga story.

  • what happens to the leric brothers. i know u said the 2 animes go their own way, so does that include the part where ed gets sent to that other "dimension". cuz if they are the same stories i hope they r reunitedXD.

  • @dyllman5 No there is no "other reality" that's something only the first anime did. The manga and brotherhood don't have anything about that. The gate of truth does still exist, but it plays another part.

  • @KylieDeeTastic

NOOOO!!! I wanted to know what would happen!

  • @KylieDeeTastic Well in the light novels they are mention but it isnt Arakawa's original work, she did do the art in the novel. but it was by Makoto inoue.

  • i can tell you what fma brotherhood is its the epicness in words

  • If u havent watch fmab ill tell u unknowers this... FMAB RULEZ!

    Specially Ling!

  • You know Kylie, you technically showed Dante twice. That was Lyra's body alright but Lyra's went to heaven by that time.

  • my issue is WHY people are being so stupid about it. they completely dissed fma calling it a lie and that its just a fake series even if they watched and loved it before fmab came out.

you forgot to mention that fma is different than fmab BECAUSE the manga wasnt finished while it was airing!

because you left that out, people will think that the creators just changed it because they felt like it. they had to completely make up what the heck was going to happen since it wasnt finished.

  • @sgarcraze123 This is the second version of this video I have made. The first went into good detail about arakawa giving them the OK to change the plot becase she wasn't far enough.

I do agree that it's strange that some fans feel they have to pick a favorite...

  • @sgarcraze123 FMA Manga wasnt finished when they aired FMAB either. they were at the ending of the manga around the time FMAB was at the part where Father does his transmutation on the country and take in god, and then a few episodes later or so, it ended. the Anime of FMAB caught up quick to the manga. Manga ended around 09, or 2010(early) dont remember, and FMA Original one ended 2004 - 2005. AO was good. but nothing beats the real plot.

  • well done!

    thanks for these info

  • FMA brotherhood is a lot better than first season, i really love it

    thx for the video XD

  • WAIT. HOLD THE PHONE.

That Means They Can Do Something Like This With Soul Eater!

(Everything Past Episode 39 (To Episode 51)) Was Filler And Anime Only)

  • so hohenheim is 400 years old?

  • @sasorinodanna13 yeaaa pretty much :D

  • @KylieDeeTastic he was in the 1st anime too

  • will they answer the questions left off in the first series?

  • @killkillzonezone No, those plot holes were in the first series only. Brotherhood isn't on the same story as the first anime, I can however tell you that brotherhood leaves no plot holes.

  • I only have three words for anyone who sin't sure about watching Brotherhood...

    OLIVIER MIRA ARMSTRONG.

She alone is well worth giving it a try, I swear. I came to FMA quite late so I never saw the original series but I can thoroughly recommend Brotherhood.

    :D

  • ohhh i get it now

  • much respect to u for making this

  • thanks! now that im watching it i love it much more than the other one

  • Lulz. YES, Dante doesn't even exist in Fullmetal. Nor does little Wrath and trishaSloth.

  • Thanks for sending me this link. It cleared things up entirely for me. (:

  • THANK YOU! XDDD

  • Wow alot of shit thats diff, if only Brotherhood kept the first series animation...it'd be jizz worthy :/

  • Brotherhood is 100% better than the oringal anime even the first 14 redone are better not as much cheesey japanese humor.

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :DD!

  • @MsViolet1001 Greed is in ling's body

  • im so glad you made this

I am a bit pissed off because some people who watch only anime, those who dont read manga at all are kinda ignoring fact that best anime come from good manga(kas)

fma brotherhood is DEFINATELY better than first anime, I´ve watched both anime and I´ve been following fma manga for years

I was worried for while that first anime ruined fma. I am so glad they re-did anime, first were horrible compared to fma brotherhood and manga

all hails to hiromu arakawa, she´s a genius

  • @SevenOfClubsStudios Dude, the first FMA won the greatest anime ever award like a thousand times. It was because it had emotion, comedy, action, realism, dark moods. Even the movie won best anime movie of 2006 and 2007. Evidently, even without the entire manga story it was still successful. It was called "one of, if not, the greates anime ever," I'm glad FMA branched off from the manga. I like the parallel world theory, making FMA more realistic, and not just a fantasy.

  • Personally I lOVE the original series. It was so amazing they just had to make another one. I recommend watching BOTH series to anyone who hasn't already!

  • @xAngelxofxDreamsx

well to me i read the manga first then watch the first fullmetal alchemist and it was crapppppy compared to the manga am glad they brought out brotherhood it does the manga justice

  • @tristrisX For me, I grew up with the the first FMA. I kind of accidentally watched it, and only a few episodes made it my favorite show. Those were great years, and then I read the manga like a year after the series ended. Didn't even know it was different. Regardless, sense FMA was my favorite show, and i'm very loyal, I can't say Brotherhood is better. I can only put it on the same level.

  • @Dattebayo04 I think that's fine, I love both in different ways (each brought so much fun into my life xD) and honestly BH only wins by a slight margin for me b/c of their superior char treatment of Winry (and some others), her relationship with Ed, and the characters the 1st didn't have. 1st was Ed & Al show, 2nd was Ed, Al and everyone else show. & I "grew up" with the Japanese ver of FMA, and I'm loyal to a lot of VAs like the way you might be loyal to Vic, so unfortunately I am sub > dub xD

  • @HikariBun That's cool.

  • @HikariBun Now that I think about it, I can't wait any longer for dub episodes to air. I'm going to watch in Jap now. Brotherhood VA are different anyway. Hoenheim, Al, and Scar, and Breda has changed. Besides, the VA aren't doing so good like they did in the first FMA. Ed's screams was powerful back then, but it's so weak now. Maybe ir's the lines fault, but i'm too annoyed of waiting when the VA isn't worth waiting for..

  • @Dattebayo04 You mean the dub VAs right? I watch a couple clips of dub when new episodes are uploaded on AS's site and they're alright. The only problem I have with dubs is the lack of freedom due to lip animation and the weird scripts. I mean Japanese version would have like 2 words and the dub would have 7 words in the same line. Awkward...

  • @HikariBun Yeah, well the main problem that it's taking too long for me. They could at least have two episodes a SAT.

  • so i should watch this right ... like to see what happens ... from the first one .. right ?

i know this is a weird question .... sorry about that !!!! :)

  • @jamiecullen987 Yeah I definentaly recommend watching Brotherhood. It has some amazing characters and plot details.

  • @KylieDeeTastic ok thank you i will !!!! :)

sorry for the weird question !!!

  • @KylieDeeTastic BTW, i'm only talking about the English version.

  • WARNING: spoiler alert!

  • I like this video a whole lot and I really respect that you made this, but I do agree, some of the spoilers kind of suck... I was planning on linking this to a few friends who STILL unfortunately don't get why Brotherhood was made and stuff but with the spoilers in it, I don't think I will. Regardless... good job Kylie :) It's very informative and straight to the point. I enjoyed it! (- Kelly from the FMA brotherhood group)

  • @penguinsamatachi Yeah, Pride was a big dilemma for me. I was thinking, "Should I, shouldn't I?" If I didn't put him in, people would have asked, and had comments from others answer that. So I figured, if they're going to find out anyway, might as well give Pride some justice in the video.

  • @KylieDeeTastic The only animation I like better in the first series is the way Hoenheim looks. He just looks friendlier in my opinion.

  • @pkstarstorm1up

Yeah, in the first anime, Hohenheim was just MAJORLY depressing (actually, first anime was depressing in general). Here, he's silly and badass at the same time, just like Ed. =) You can totally say, "Like father, like son."

  • @KylieDeeTastic I want to watch more BH, but I can't sense I refused to watch the Japanese version. I grew up with the English version, and the first FMA. Naturally, I can't say BH is better. It has sweet action though, and FMA 1 was great for the emotion. Really, the two FMA must exist.

  • @Dattebayo04 No two fam dont need to exist beacause the 1st fma is not fma Dante trisha homuculay dosent exist BH follows the REAL story of the fma wich is in the manga.

  • @einars13 Who cares, I like the original. I prefer anime over manga anyway

  • Really I consider them both to be canon, only in seperate universes. After all the first anime did do some things better then Brotherhood, like the first two episodes Nina was alive. Plus the first anime also showed a seperate universe so people can say that they both are canon just seperate.

Also I like Trisha Sloth much more the Brotherhood Sloth:D

You also have to give the animation team credit though, They were still able to create a kickbut story even though Brotherhoods story is better.

  • @pkstarstorm1up

I agree! FMA-1 is a lot better than other animes I've watched besides Brotherhood. :) You've got to give them credit for doing their best. Although I hated parts of it, it was entertaining.

The manga is simply the best, of course!

  • I like how in Brotherhood Greed plays a bigger role. in the first anime he last like 3 episodes and gets killed so easily like WTF it made ultimate shield look like a joke.Hell, even in the OVA he gets beaten so easily by Envy,Greed didnt get nearly as enough play as the other homunculus. which is another reason why i like BH better

and if you havent noticed yet,Greed is my fav homunculus haha

  • omg ty i never read the manga anyway

  • Judge the first 14 episodes? Fuck, they're awsome!!! Way better than the original anime. It's like the time when Tenchi Muyo moved on to being Tenchi Universe, and became 3 times better insead of 3 times worse, and instead of feeling that you had to watch it anyways to cope with the loss of your favorite anime, you watch it because because it WAY pwns it! So stop sounding insecure about how FMAB is going.

  • @ChrisspacePatti Lul, i'm not insecure one bit. I freaking love the first 14. Especially ep 5. But i've run into so many people who stopped watching brotherhood because they thought it was just the same thing and stopped before they got to the manga plot. That's why I put that ;)

  • so are u saying brotherhood's first 14 episodes are deja vu and the rest make it completely different and follows the manga ?

  • @HakuraSakura Yep. The first 14 are pretty much the same, but there are some pretty big differences. Especially lab 5. All of lab 5 is different. 66 and 48 are still there. But none of that philosophers stone/tucker stuff is.

  • How many episodes of FMA Brotherhood are there? Oh, and also. THANK YOU. This helped alot.

  • Hey, you're pretty good at making montages!

Did you have to include so many late-series spoilers, though?

  • @BagOfMagicFood With Selim, It killed me doing that. But I couldn't just leave out Pride. I considered doing leaving that out but, people would have asked.

As for the other scenes, I tried to make them more of "teasers" rather than spoilers.

  • @KylieDeeTastic Are going to change the part of no one resembling Dante since there is that lookalike in episode 58.

  • Oh snap!! Thats why when I tried reading the manga, It was so hard to find which chapters Ive already watched form the anime.. Sheesh, Thanks for this vid, it all makes sense now :)

  • It should be mentioned that the tracks playing in this video are all from the show!

  • @Vlyse Ah yesh. I'll add that in the description :)

  • @KylieDeeTastic Well it has that Armstrong and Sig gaining respect for each other so it isn't completely different right?

  • I still love this video....so informative. All the silly people not watching Brotherhood because of massive ignorance and stubbornness need to see this.

  • FINALLY I'll have to show this to my friends who have already seen the first anime. i've been trying to get them to watch Brotherhood, but they watch the first few episodes and they just stop watching. Hopefully this will help! =]
