Why should the state of Texas fund home heating assistance for the state of Alaska? If your state wants to do it, there's no reason they can't. But it isn't the role of the federal government.

That's such a blatant set up. What with the question for home heating assistance. It's not the federal government job to do that. Get your local government to assist if need be. Hell I have no central heat had none for the last ten years and it's cold right now. I am wearing double socks sweaters and every so often I turn a space heater on. I'm self employed and never ask for hand outs. I am sick of everyone wanting a hand out it costs money people that working folk have to pay. We are broke!!!

I more or less agree, but when you look at tax revenue collected vs Federal dollars spent, in general New England and other wealthy states are stuck propping up poor states like Texas and the rest of the South. Either make it so each state's tax dollars stay local, or make it more equitable.

I've driven through the South, and it looked like everyone was poor as Lazarus, regardless of color. Shotgun shacks with pitbulls snarling from the porch, trailer parks, Walmarts and Waffle Houses. I've been all over South America, the Horn of Africa, and the Middle East, and I've never seen poverty so desperate as in the American South. I'm not saying this because I hate Southerners (because I don't), I'm just calling it like I see it.

Being a single white male with no dependants I did not qualify for any type of aid, because I owned a vehicle worth more than $2000.00 The programs were set up to aid those in need, not as a way of life. the absurdity, which most people fail to realize here, is that paul was not able to travel on schedule today because of mobs of "journalists" surrounding his vehicle. they hindered his progress and their clear intent was antagonizing him as shown with them mobbing his vehicle and them throwing themselves in front of him at his visit. its orchestrated, but by whom, well we can only guess.
