thats your opinion. many things can do wrong with using a blanket statement. A martial art may require things of each person which the person isnt able to accomplish or be due to the fact that everybody isnt the same.

This is the Choreography section about Indonesian Movie "MERANTAU".

This movie is about Silat Harimau, one of Traditional Martial Arts Style in Indonesia.

Silat Harimau marked as one of the near-extinct and deadly Indonesian Martial Art.

By the way, for your information: Harimau means Tiger.

So Silat Harimau using the tiger stance in practice.

If you noticed, the style of Silat Harimau oftenly use a lower stance and focus on attacking the lower body part of the opponnent.

No, it was not older than kungfu since the oldest recorded Indonesian kingdom was about 2-3 CE.

If you were in US, the movie will be presented in Fantastic Fest, Austin, Texas in Sept 24 and Oct 1.

Coba kau cari "muay chaiya" atau "muay chaiya sawaddee". Itu percampuran antara muay dengan silat. Kata chaiya sendiri ada yang mengatakan dari "cahaya" tetapi ada juga yang bilang dari "sri wichaiya" (sriwijaya)
