@80sCommercialVault no they didn't least not at Mc Donalds... used to work at one(1996), but they still taste GREAT! it was sunflower oil we used. SSHHH!
Oh, this might have been the Christmas I got the big MASK secret headquarters play set, complete with boulder you could roll down on your enemies. It was awesome. Too bad 11-year-old me lost interest in MASK and my MASK toys by March. I don't think we got rid of that play set until I was in college, though.
Yeah I agree with you on the McDonalds commerical with the....pointless dance scene from Mac and Me but look on the bright side, at least the film is unintentionally hilarious. Fruit Corners, don't remember. Too busy eating Nintendo Cereal!
Crispy Critters. EVIL! Horrible, AWFUL tasting cereal! My mom brought it for me once we threw the box out the next day. It came with a book.
I remember Fruit Island cereal. That was some good stuff. And I agree with you about the Pebbles cereal. I have always wondered why Barney never bought himself a box of Fruity or Cocoa Pebbles cereal. Maybe Fred bought every single box in Bedrock.
These are the commercial bumpers from 1987-1988, but the shows are from 1988-1989. The latter season's bumpers were similar, but had different music and different kids. It went with the "Saturday Rocks" theme. Wonder what was going on here, with the "wrong" bumpers?
@schuminweb As far as I know, "Saturday Rocks" was just an image campaign for the 1988 season. They used the "What A Party" bumpers at LEAST until 1990.
Those were the days I grew up on Saturday mornings with nothing but cereal and watch cartoons on CBS when I was living in Brooklyn, NY at the time. Awesome stuff. I remember "Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures" since I was 9, it was a Ralph Bashki's show and it lasted after one season. I used to watched the old, old Mighty Mouse since I was a baby at the time when WPIX-TV used to aired them every weekday mornings back in the early 80's.
@tanquantwal It's very likely that I'll be able to go past that, but 200 will be my goal for now. At this point, I've posted almost everything that my Aunt and Uncle recorded between 1983 and 1989, but I'm constantly finding new stuff to post through various torrent sites...so the stream will keep flowing. I'm always willing to post stuff that people submit as well.
Yeah, TV is so crappy and done to death now.... my childhood/teenage self would be saying nooooooo had I traveled into the future and saw TV today back then. Today's TV programming whether animated or live action for the most of it (There are still a few rare good TV shows on now and then) is about as interesting as watching paint dry and the sad thing is, there are reality shows where you can watch people paint the walls and wait on them to dry to see the end results. And not just one
@centurionaqua012 Man, you ain't kidding! Most anyone who gets to know me well enough knows I'd rather buy DVDs of a show or movie I know I like and will watch happily, way more than sit there channel surfing for God knows how long until something worthwhile comes on.
The classic Saturday morning cartoons. We're never going to see those days again. Those were the best times! And congratulations on the 150th 80's vid!
And that Crispy Critters jingle will live on in my brain for the rest of my life. The Crispy Critters mascot always reminded me of Grubby from Teddy Ruxpin.
The yellow striped shirt kid played "Buddy" in the classic teen comedy "Just One Of The Guys" and this Mickey D's commercial was VERY cool and entertaining back then... It seems like that McDonalds commercial aired forever.
Thanks for the (so far) 150 uploads of 80's commercials! I was born in '85, so I can't say I remember all of them, but I've been on a big nostalgia trip recently, so I appreciate it all the same. Keep 'em comin', and congrats on the big milestone!
1:09 I very vividly remember that commercial, but I never saw the whole commercial because it started a tape I had when i was little w/a bunch of Kidsongs shows as well as CBS saturday morning show and the cm was at the "French fries...McDonald's French Fries" part.
I Was Watching the McDonalds Version while Watching an E.T. Cereal Commercial on RetroJunk (not a Smart Idea) But, It Sounded like the E.T. Musical

Is there any McDonald's on the planet that is patronized only by unsupervised kindergarteners?
I'm surprised CBS would run commercials for a toy line from a competing network's show.
Yes, Dad. By all means, don't encourage your kid to eat a healthy cereal. Are you going to hog all the veggies, too?
I went to a huge high school, and I never had anywhere near the trouble those kids did navigating the place.
Popeye seems way too old to have a preteen son. Bet he wouldn't have a pipe today.

I remember the McDonald's "First Day" commercial very well! Reminds me of how nervous I was about starting high school!

All right I successfully made it to Volume 150!
First of all, CBS used the "What A Party" bumpers and image campaign for 1987-1988. "Saturday Rocks" wasn't rolled out till 88-89.
"It doesn't happen! IT HAPPENS."
M.A.S.K. ruled!
Crispy Critters had the Jimmy Durante spokescereal!!!!
I actually liked Popeye & Son. Was silly in a few places, but still good!

I had a bunch of the M.A.S.K. toys growing up, I actually liked them better than Transformers.

I remember the Crispy Critters cereal. Unfortunate name, but they were pretty much mini animal crackers in a bowl w/ milk.
