  • hitch was a dick head and is writing a new book called I WAS WRONG .

  • Your face immediately contorts @ 0:45. How do you that?

  • @UsedNMuse It's hardly immediate.

  • @BionicDance I'm meant 0:46.

  • Comment removed

  • Ya, me too.

  • Bionic you are wonderful! ♥ Your voice and style of telling is really cool.

  • I used to look upto people like you.Do your fans know you sell atheist T shirts. It's a bit like a football game now.Who do you support atheism or theism.Buy a shirt now.The game goes on and atheist and theist masters make money. You make me sick.

  • @suzukix5owner I warned you, kiddo. Buh-bye.

  • Cop out

  • Do you really want theism vanquished. What would be your purpose in life.Who or what would you and your friends fight against and be angry at.Unlike you I truly want the end of theism.I am a true atheist. Not someone who antagonises them for fame or a sense of intellectual superiority.Theists are victims.

  • @suzukix5owner And you're spamming; post less or, seriously, I'm blocking your ass. Condense your thoughts or pace yourself. Pick one.

  • @BionicDance Hun, this is the part where you type TLDR :)

  • Show evidence.Sorry but the burden of proof is in you hands.

  • @suzukix5owner No, it isn't. You're accusing me and others of being "Mother Teresa atheists"...it's up to YOU to show this is the case.

  • I was also a fan of atheist experience and especially Matt and Russell. But like I said Chris only spoke facts and truths regardless if you liked it or not. Therefore anyone who questions facts and truth either are being untrue to themselves or have alteria motives.

  • I don't question his atheism. But it is now becoming clear to me that Americans are uncomfortable with truths. The iraq war was justified for the reasons Chris said. Also I am right in accusing you of being atheist mother terrisa,s and I'm calling you out on it.

  • @suzukix5owner Show evidence.

  • Oh I forgot to put that I am beginning to think that atheist experience presenters are like atheist mother terrisa,s too.

  • BionicDance is a friend of the guys from ask an atheist. They are like a atheist mother terrisa. They don't want to destroy theism in all it's guises, but feed on it and it's victims like mother terrisa was a friend of poverty and not a friend of the impoverished.Shame on them. They should follow Christophers example.I WILL BE.

  • @suzukix5owner You don't know me, kiddo.

I'd be HAPPY to see theism vanquished.

  • I have just finished watching Russell Glasser on atheist experience. His speech on Chris made me uncomfortable. Are Americans afraid of truth and fact regardless of their theism or atheism.

  • @suzukix5owner I haven't seen the speech you're talking about, but I've met Russell and he didn't strike me as afraid of truth or fact.

  • Has anyone noticed that Christopher spoke fact and truth in a world where fact and truth are unpopular and scary to all theists.

  • You rock girl!!!! Happy B Day...life goes on...hang tough. Here's to you.

  • christopher Hitchens was my only real hero in life so far, he spoke the words i was thinking to the world and he will be dearly missed, maybe in the future you will feel honoured to celebrate your birthday and remember the life of Hitchens on the same day. Happy Birthday

  • @TowerofMrPower ... Atheists are the ones encouraging people to think for themselves... Honestly, when the fuck have you EVER heard someone from a religious point of view encouraging that type of attitude? They're the ones who have the thought process of "if you don't believe what I believe, you're burning in hell for eternity and evil" You completely misunderstand the message, and I pity you for even commenting on this.

As for this video you saluted him in the way he'd most likely want the most

  • @TowerofMrPower Who is obligated to always respect people? You can freely think that Santa Claus will give you head tomorrow morning and expect no respect from a lot of people for a belief to that degree. And thumbing down doesn't have much to do with conformism. Clearly, the comment doesn't show how many thumb downs you get, so there is no pattern for anyone to conform to. You speak as though Christopher Hitchens had no respect for all non-Atheists. Fuck outta here...-__-

  • @TowerofMrPower "I've found YouTube atheists to be haters, above anything else"

-What are you talking about? We love being called sinners and being told to repent or burn eternally, we love it when people politically interfere with our lives because we've offended their beliefs, we certainly can't get enough of being rudely awakened by door to door proselytizers... especially when we're hungover.

Also, I certainly doubt Chris will resurrect in three days.

  • Think of it this way Keight, he resting in peace now, free from rude disturbances from JW's, mormons, street preachers, jury summons and little girls selling cookies.

  • @TowerofMrPower "You've been flagged as "spam" because atheists can't stand anyone who thinks differently than they do. They make me want to SCREAM. "

    - Like this? "YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD?? YOU HEATHEN! REPENT TO JESUS NOW!"... The key word is think here, you brainwashed jesus puppet, you should try it and maybe you'll be like us, instead of a mindfucked sheep.

  • @TowerofMrPower Don't you have abortion doctors to kill or gays to oppress because your "almighty" creator says they're an abomination? Go be a good little sheep now, asshole.

  • @TowerofMrPower Yes, that's right...cuz you wouldn't be thumbed down for being, you know, WRONG or anything. *rolls eyes*

  • While I didn't cry at his passing, I did send him a toast, very similarly to what you did in this video. Somehow, the world is slightly less bright after his his passing.

  • Not exactly good news to get on your birthday, but he lived a big arsed life, touched a lot of minds and maybe brought some reason into a crazy world. That is all any of us can hope for. Keep his bombastic legacy going :)

  • And BionicDance. Thank YOU for everything too! :-)

  • 2 things i cant stand......

    1. People who write R.I.P. Dead people are not resting nor do they enjoy peace.

    2. People who raise a glass and speak to dead people as if they can hear them.

If you are gonna make videos about rationality then at least try and be rational. Just saying.

  • Dont cry.I think Chris had a cunning plan.He cloned himself. These clones are called Matt Dillahunty,Thunderfoot,AronRa and my favourite Richard Dawkins. The world is saved.Hurrah for the Hitch.

  • Why do many Christians hate science? Jesus is the way, "the truth" and the light, therefore "Jesus is truth." Jesus is also "the ultimate moral authority" therefore "truth" is the "ultimate moral authority." Evidence is "truth," therefore science is "obedient to the ultimate moral authority." So why hate science? :)

  • Sorry but LMAO @ 0:46

  • hmm.. chick outanother dick? na. i think i feel his death as much as any celebrity i've seen pass. cause he's one of my peeps. and we don't get do-overs or eons on clouds. i swore off booze years ago so thanks. i'll call that my shot for hitch too

  • "sister from another mister", thought I was the only one who said that.

  • @pernch Well, I don't know how else to say "brother from another mother" for a sister-type. :)

  • Nice quote from Christopher from a few months ago in a interview "when I die I wont know I'm dead" I hope his legacy lives on for a long time.

  • was my birthday on the 14th.

every year from now on, im going to ask for some johnnie walker black for my birthday. and then im going to spend the 15th drinking it while watching hitchslaps.

    my hero is gone.

  • If Dick Cheney was an Atheist, I wouldn't cry for him either. I think Dick Cheney is an atheist actually, I know Carl Rove is.

  • Christopher Hitchens; His position on the Iraq war and his arrogance made me actually sympathize with the religious people he always debated, and I'm an Atheist. He's the perfect example of how Atheists really don't have to have anything in common other than not being a theist. I didn't like him at all, I'm not sad he's gone personally. I agree with lots of religious people on certain issues and not him.

  • I feel ya.....so.....let's get motivated and keep this movement rollin'. Let's get the word out there and change the world for the better. Push harder than before. Do more. Say more....ya dig? Check out my channel.

  • 'Makes me wish I had more than beer to salute him with :(... to Hitch'! (gulps)

  • He obviously meant a great deal to you. I was I'd known of him sooner.

  • i just found out about him today. I fucking hate it when i get into someone and having hopes of meeting them one day and they are dead this happen to me 3 or times and i get mad and i cry alittle on the inside and dance im crying to.

    \m/ Christopher fucking Hitchens.

  • sister from another mister... 0_o

  • @Snakekilla12 It's like "brother from another mother", y'see.

  • *hugs*

  • So he died. Big deal. Honestly, his death is no more notable than the death of the hundreds of thousands of other people who died on December 15. People shouldn't make such big deals out of deaths of famous people. LIFE WILL GO ON with or without Hitchens. It was uncontrollable, it was bound to happen, so stop whining and get over it. That may sound harsh, but death is an essential part of life. No one death is worthy of any more attention than another. Here's to ALL who died December 15.

  • @coda623 fuck you your not helping get the fuck out of here with your fucking comment man

  • @jpbarbedwire666 What I'm trying to say is, why mourn for the loss of someone? Instead CELEBRATE their accomplishments in life and reflect on how much good they brought to the world. Don't be sad. Instead, be happy that he lived his life for a great cause and was an inspiration for many people. Crying and mourning about death doesn't have any effect on what happened, so instead be glad that he even existed in the first place.

  • @coda623 i can agree with that

  • Dam I feel miserable. I wish I could go to his funeral.

  • This may sound a little weird given that I have never actually met the guy, but I really feel like the last of his kind is gone. This level deep, broad knowledge alongside his outstanding rhetorics is hard to find these days

  • Thank you for everything Mr. Hitchens.

  • \_/ for Hitch

  • I didn't really like him that much (I'm a Heretic rather then an atheist but try finding Heritics on youtube most of them are still cowering in fear) but he was never boring, Farewell

  • Hitchens:

    Yet another NWO casualty.

Speak out loud enough and you will be silenced.

Gone but with a very wide wake.

  • I was on the verge of crying when I heard the news. The only thing we can do now is pick up where he left off, take a shot, and give a smile that we even knew about such a guy.

Christopher fucking Hitchens, we will all miss him. :(

  • Insert claim about dog not eating last night. make miracles link between two. huskies are awesome. dog most be psychic. dog is put all over news. YOU CANT PROVE IT ISNT TRUE LALALALALALALALALALALALALA

  • I love reading him and seeing him speak. Coincidentally, I just bought his book "Arguably" yesterday, before I found out he died.

I am sad that he will not be around to continue to make fools of god-botherers, but I am grateful for having been exposed to his wit, his intellect, and his courage.

  • Comment removed

  • I've mourned Hitchens all I can. Now I must work on defending him from the vultures that will come and try to pick his reputation apart from false deathbed stories to blatant quote mining.

  • Had I been drunk I too probably would have cried also. It's amazing how someone you never met could have such impact on you. Happy b-day

  • @tsugua27 Yeah, it is pretty strange. I never met Hitch, yet his impact on my life was so huge...his death hit me hard.

I don't even wanna THINK about what'll happen when George Lucas dies. :(

  • @BionicDance You know what's strange? You may not believe it, but you have quite the fan base, albeit not on Hitchens level. If Youtube is around decades from now, your death could affect many. food for thought

  • @tsugua27 I've wondered about that from time to time. It's...weird to realize that's a possibility. I mean, whothehell am I? Just some punk kid in Seattle makin' vids. Heh.

Ah, well...it's a moot point anyway; I'm going to live forever or die trying! :)

  • @BionicDance I love that your reply to my comment is being thumbs up'ed. You're more than you think you are... include me in the bunch who would miss you... don't leave without a message ;-p

  • @tsugua27 I don't plan on going anywhere any time soon. No worries. :)

  • @BionicDance

Next year. After raising a glass for yourself. Raise another for the hitch. And even though he is now no longer among us. Remember him for everything he taught us and left us. :D

Sounds like a good tradition in the making. ;-)

  • @BionicDance Oh no don't even speak like that, I don't want to think of George Lucas dyeing when Hitch has died. :(

  • Cancer sucks. He'll be missed by many. We're very lucky to have been able to get to 'know' him so well these last few years. He's gone but not forgotten.

  • Well we cant say we didn't see it coming months beforehand. He was a great contributor to logic and reason and will be missed. With all the depressing shit in my life lately I'm not surprised.

  • “Take the risk of thinking for yourself, much more happiness, truth, beauty, and wisdom will come to you that way.”

  • Wow Keight, that's the first time I've seen you cry.

  • @Akira625 I don't do it a lot. And certainly not on camera.

And I was drunk; had just got home from the club.

  • @BionicDance You are entitled to have another, this is the right time for it. I can't physically buy you one, but I can do so in spirit.

  • I, for one, am not curious what the religious have to say about the event. Prayers, forgiveness, hate and anything else. Your moot opinions fall on deaf ears.

  • Another great man is gone and we are all the weaker for it.

  • it didn't happen..... i'm not accepting it.

  • Hey Bionic. Thanks for posting this, I found out through your video. He was important and I'm glad I could be part of the YouTube atheist community honoring his memory, even in this small way. All the best to you, Z

  • What a terrible coincidence of timing for you. I wish there was some way I could get a round of drinks for you and Summer.

  • awww

  • Organised religion is violent, irrational, intolerant, allied to racism, tribalism, and bigotry, invested in ignorance and hostile to free inquiry, contemptuous of women and coercive toward children.”

― Christopher Hitchens, God Is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything

  • @johnofdunn A very good quote and post. Hitchens was one of the few people who could legitimately be called an intellectual. He will be missed.

  • @thereforeithought Hitchens will be missed

  • Sadfae (hugs)

  • johnny Walker Black?

  • A brilliant light has gone out in the Universe. He will be greatly missed. Your light may not be as bright or extend as far as his, but you still help illuminate the world around you. Hang in there and keep up the good work.

  • Looks like I have two shots to take on Sunday. One for my 21st and one for Hitchens. Here's to you, sir.

  • Happy Birthday....

  • @Kingtiger213 I know, right. *psigh* Poor Hitch.

  • @BionicDance Very sad, definitely.

  • Nicely done, I am wrecked by this Deathcember (see my latest video) I lost a lot this month.

  • Didn't agree ith his economics AT ALL(He was right wing, as I understand it) but other than that, his mind shall be sorely missed.

  • My birthday is 16th.. Happy birthday.

  • @rueven54 Happy birthday to you. :)

  • @BionicDance Happy birthday. And I'm sorry to hear about Hitchens. I'm not an atheist, but I always liked his witty comments, and I found myself agreeing with them half the time. Sad day.

  • @BionicDance I'd hug you right now if I could :(

Celebrate Hitch's life as much as you can. You can make it a tradition that every time your birthday comes, you can have one extra drink in his honor. Then you can go on Youtube and watch all of his "Hitch-slaps".

  • Suddenly the collective dialogue of our species seems signifigantly less eloquent.

  • Deepest sympathy!

  • that is how we shall keep him alive..he will forever be one of the important figures in this culture war with.

  • Mourn him well, but his own words were to not let his momentary tragedy (which he was actually quite bored with) detract from his purpose. His presence still resounds the world over. And when those pesky religious make his death into a plug for invisible friends in the sky. Respond with the gusto that Hitchens was known for.

  • Yeah, cuz it's all about you. How dare he die on YOUR birthday. WTF?

  • @sprwnch obviously the gravity of her response was lost to you. Way to take a simple way of her packaging remorse and turn it into a confrontation to satisfy your own importance...Bionicdance..thank you for your words of remembrance..however they come to you.

  • Yeah, how dare his death day be on her birthday!

  • @sprwnch

Yeah, that was awfully rude of him to die on BionicDance's birthday. I can't believe The Hitch would be that inconsiderate.

  • Hitchens' work of enlightening the world to religion's failings is far from over, but far from forgotten.

    We'll keep fires going!

  • I knew this day was coming ever since I found out he had cancer. In his pre-emptive honor I started naming the most bad-ass buttkicking toon I could create in every game I played "Hitchens Lives Forever".

It is an honor that pales in comparison to the worth of the man we have now lost, but maybe if we all did something similar it might serve as a catalyst to spread awareness of him to those still infected by religion? Or at least those that also play MMOs.

  • Now i feel bad that i never got to meet him, though that was never a possibility.

  • We will all miss the "Hitch" and this evening I will drink a toast of good Scotch in his memory.

  • He lives on in the work he did. he will be missed but never forgotten.

  • RIP Christopher Hitchens. One of the greatest minds and authors is with us no more. He may be gone and he will be missed for sure, but 'Hitch Slapping' will go on even in his absence... ♥

  • I'll definately be having a beer tonight in the name of Hitchens

  • Well, if there's life after death, and if Hitchens found God there, I hope he gives Yahweh a good Hich-slap!

  • May the "Hitch" be with you. (yeah you may dislike that but I felt it appropriate).

  • Start drinking for the dead? well I guess you have to do something.

I will have to fill a thumb drive with millions of Bibles and format it.... about 100 times.

  • If god doesn't exist then why is Christopher Hitchens dead? ./c

  • Real sorry to hear how you got the news. That sucks. Everyone raise a shot of Johnnie Walker to Hitch!

  • @TheCaptainD82 Sorry I have only Bundy handy... *raises glass*

  • @TheCaptainD82 black label (if available)

  • I'm indifferent. His death means nothing to me on a personal level and I'm not enough of a psychopath to view him as a resource.

  • Comment removed

  • @SAsgarters Now you're one of the cool kids.

  • @Iced1992 Am I now.

  • Gone but not forgotten, add me to the list of people wanting to say just how much he meant to me.

  • for all you fellow atheists out there... let me try and put this into perspective, we just lost our SEAL team "6".....

  • I love you Christopher Hitchens!

You'll Always be my Big Growling Teddy Bear! I'll Miss You!

  • RIP Hitchens. A man that has changed my outlook on life and I have left Religion forever. Thank God. (forgive me for that). You will be missed.

  • I know the feeling, my great-uncle died on my last birthday.

  • I don't mean to make you feel worce, but probably better brace for all the "well look where he is now" crap from all the christian dooshes. There is bound to be at least some of them.

This is actually the first I'm hearing about it, with the international date line it probably happened between the news cycle. I'm sure it will be all over the news tomorrow.

  • The sadness you display ... the exact reason I'm anti-religion (not theist in Religions' gods, but not totally atheist ... but still enough atheist to be on your "atheist-list," yeah? ;-) ): I'm anti-religion because they continue to worship a death-God (oh, they may deny it, but THEY claim that 'dying' is the only way to get to 'Heaven.') But My God Is Life, and there IS NO death in him. Hitchens is resting from the daunting task he started well for us to continue in his stead ... LOVE

  • Hitch really opened my eyes and sharpened my arguments when dealing with "nutcases" a helluvalot. He was funny, intelligent and so very well-spoken. He will be missed. This sucks :(

  • Bummer, I shall have to raise a shot of Johnny Walker to Hitch today.

  • Ella Fitzgerald died on my birthday. :(

  • He will be dearly missed. We were not ready to lose such a great man

  • Damn straight, K8...,and thank you, too.

  • I had just finished one of his books. All I can say is..... "God Is Not Great"!!

  • @realigiousrayne

    Chrisopher Hitchen is.

  • Been kinda in shock for the last 6 hours. I find that I shall miss him terribly. The world's collective intellect dimmed greatly last night.

  • I only just discovered him about about two months ago this is too soon :(

  • i cried for like an hour. still feel like shit. don't know what else to say.

  • I've just found out and I'm gutted. You know when a rock star dies like Freddie Mercury or even Michael Jackson you feel saddened BUT Hitch means we've really lost somebody important. He said himself that he had had a great life but abused it somewhat with Whisky and cigarettes but the great people like Hitch will stand alone within the anals of the 20/21 Century. RIP Hitch we loved your work and mind. I hope somebody takes the baton and continues his great work.

  • I was reading Hitch 22 today on the train and then I come home and see this in my sub box. : ( I'll never forget what he's done for me.

  • Dread

  • I'm pretty much out of words here. The way he looked at the Dawkins price reception, you could see the end was near. Still, this is so messed up

  • A few years back I was serving in Baghdad, we got word that a young guy got shot and killed off the top of his humvee, it was my birthday. I never met this young guy, but it felt so strange that he was killed on the day I normally celebrate the start of my life. My birthday means so much more to me now than it did before, I'm still celebrating the start of my life, but I’m also celebrating the life and memory of someone I never met.

  • oportunist

  • This was really moving, r.i.p Christopher

  • Also-- He was one of the vanishingly few conservatives to whom I could listen. And one who could actually persuade me through force of argument of his positions. I'll miss him. :(

  • On a positive note, Happy BDay. HugZ

  • hugs, i know how u feel my grandad died a few weeks ago :( dam this mouth <3

  • That really sucks.

  • To Hitchens *raises cup* And happy birthday nonetheless, BD.

  • “The only position that leaves me with no cognitive dissonance is atheism. It is not a creed. Death is certain, replacing both the siren-song of Paradise and the dread of Hell. Life on this earth, with all its mystery and beauty and pain, is then to be lived far more intensely: we stumble and get up, we are sad, confident, insecure, feel loneliness and joy and love. There is nothing more; but I want nothing more.”

    ― Christopher Hitchens

  • You'll never forget.

  • What inspired me most about Christopher is that he never pulled his punches when debating. He was most definitely a force to be reckoned with. I'm grateful for having had the opprtunity to hear his perspective on things like religion...hell, he helped me give voice to my atheism.

  • I'll always be grateful for what he did. I don't know what to say.

  • So glad that I lived at the same time as this great man. We continue the fight for reason in our world. It will be tougher without him but we have so many videos of extreme pwnage to keep close.
