I give my cat a bath all the time. Mainly when she gets out and is roaming free... who knows what she brings home and what hole she's been in. She pretty much acts the same way as this cat did lol. I've been using main and tail on her last few times, makes her fur really soft!! She also gets a bath when she's showing signs of fleas, before giving her flea med.

Cats don't need baths , I have 5 and never have given them a bath, have washed paws. I brush them with cat comb. They smell almost like candy.. when my friends come over they don't know I have cats unless they see them. Everything is very clean specially my cats. ^.^ :)
I had to put my cats in a slightly cold bath on a 43°C day just this past summer. I couldn't get them to drink water and they were panting. It scared me so much because panting for cats is a bad sign that they're dehydrated and overheated. I put them in the bath to drench them and then sprayed them with cold iced water for the rest of the day. It was definitely needed.
Sometimes they need to a bath. I personally wouldn't like shit all over my apartment. They're indoor cats.

ok people saying this is abuse...its not they are giving their cat a bath this is what happens at a grooming salon minus the scissors being anywhere near the cat and the bath, also you should properly handle the cat because you could indeed hurt it with it moving around like that....but you can groom a cat using scissors ive seen it being done...cats do clean themselves yes but sometimes there are times when it is up to the owner to bathe the animal....
