ok let me get this straight? you just need to use it in a sentence right for the $500? I can think of several that makes the word irrelevant such as "Hey Path. how do you spell copacetic." or "Could any of you have guessed the megaword would be copacetic? I mean come on folks. you don't have to KNOW what the word is to use it in a sentence. How about "What is the definition of copacetic?" jeese this is not rocket science after all.
@nerys71 You have to use the "Megaword" in a sentence that displays that you KNOW the meaning of the word. A lot of times contestants would try to do what you just suggested and the judges would not accept it. They would not accept "it's copacetic", because that didn't show that you knew what it meant. But if you said "it's groovy and copacetic", they would accept. needless to say, this is why the category was retired - it made contestants look stupid, when WOF want them to look SMART. :-)
This popped up in my head while watching this. What if they had run out of money to buy vowels with, and obviously did not know the puzzle. And none of the others had no clue what the puzzle was. Obviously this particular situation would rarely happen. If noone had any money to buy vowels with, and noone knew the puzzle. I wonder if they would just throw the puzzle out and do a new one.
You counted all of the trilons, but four of them weren't used for letters (the ones in each corner, which are partially cut off), so what it should say is "there were 48 trilons that could be used for letters; the new boards has 52 usable trilons."
Copacetic, that's a pretty nice word you don't see as much anymore it really should be a part of more everyday speech. Maybe then things might be a little more... copacetic between people, eh?
Judging form W o F, American high schools are no longer giving kids a vocabulary list on Monday and the quiz on Friday.

Nothing is copacetic in this video! :P
hoteliwinshowcases 7 months ago
Actually, I have NEVER heard this word used in anything but the following:
"Everything is copacetic"
It doesn't prove that you know what it means, but it kind of does since it is a time-honored expression.

"And yes, it's Megaword. Just our way of saying Happy Holidays..."
LOL. Even Pat knew Megaword was a failure.

Wikipedia tells that the old puzzle board had 48 trilons and the new one has 52 but why there are 52 of them in this video?
candyman14051986 2 years ago

48 is still an accurate number, since the ones in the corners weren't actually trilons. They were just blank covers with the green glitter effect.
