  • If i landed already, I would still eject! just for fun!

  • @xarlz159 and die. besides the whole cockpit ejects with you in the F-111

  • Not a crash, this is a perfect ungear landing!

  • This is not a crash

  • one word. TRAINING TRAINGING TRAINING! It just paid off. amazing pilot!

  • when you see the fire truck pass the plane, only then do you realize how huge fighters really are.

  • @BananaForge yes, the jet compared to the firetruck is almost 3x bigger.

  • @BananaForge - Despite its "F" designation, the F-111 is (was) actually a strike aircraft, used for both tactical and strategic missions. Real fighters, such as F-16s and F/A-18s, are smaller.

Largest aircraft classified as a fighter in service was Tupolev Tu-28P ("Fiddler"), actually a missile-armed interceptor.

  • 7 words,9 syllables: HOW IN THE HOLY MOTHER OF FUCK!

  • So we meet again, 240p :/

  • what if it just blew up at 0:37

  • HE LANDED WITHOUT WEELS.. HOSE HIM DOWN SO HE GETS ALL WET AND SHIT!! DO IT NOW!! yeaa.. wel but sir.. FUCKING DO IT MATE!!

  • Bad landing= The crew gets carried away, aircraft not usable again.

Good landing= Crew walks away under their own power.

Great landing= Crew walks away under their own power, aircraft flies again (even if it needs some repairs).

    That was a GREAT landing.

  • lakenheath U.K.?

  • @pocyclips Judging by the accents, i think its Australia. Lakenheath is a little more green from what I remember.

  • @desertfox2403 yeah, googling "F-111 australia"... they did or do use them.

  • @pocyclips I wouldnt be surprised if they are now retired. They are an amazing aircraft, but their airframe does lend to high upkeep and maintenance.

  • @desertfox2403 was @ Myrtle Beach South Carolina in 1989 when an F-111 was on final approach and the pilot did a slow afterburner turn and I could NOT hear myself yell, EVERYTHING was rocking. In the "E" F-111 phase the wing pivot points were a major failure point.

  • @pocyclips - Australia of course !!

  • @pocyclips This is Amberley near Brisbane in Queensland, Australia (I used to live there). The F111s belonging to 1 and 6 SQN Royal Australian Air Force were based there from 1973 to 2010 and are now retired, replaced by F18 Super Hornets. This incident happened in late 2007 from memory.

  • This isn't a crash, it's... "a perfect unorthodox landing"

  • I think the pilot just wanted to scrape a little rust off the bottom of the plane.

  • peoples...clap when the pilot is out and at least 20 metres from plane :)

  • Pratt and Whitneys are shit engines. The Aussies wish they could order the bird with GE F110S but US won't allow it. Contracts and kickbacks rule and people still have to operate the horrible TF30. Robert McNamara should have been hung for this and other decisions he made.

  • To say this has GOT to be the World's Greatest Pilot, is an understatement. Amazing landing; simply amazing!

  • so would that plane still be able to fly, looked like it probably had just a few scratches to the bottom?

  • @105Raptor The aircraft type has since been retired from the RAAF. If I remember correctly It was going to be too expensive to repair the plane when the aircraft were being retired a couple months after this emergency landing.

The whole thing went pretty well, the alternative was flying it out over the ocean where the pilots would eject and be picked up.

  • Now that was hot shit.

  • Gear up landings don't get much better than that. Strong work!

  • Is this an RAAF plane? I think I can hear Aussie twang.

  • @336kgf

yep. d aussies r using it.

  • Any landing that you walk away from is a good landing. That's a great way of "retiring" F-111s.

  • NOT a crash It was a gear up landing!!

  • @KC8YOQ tags says crash

  • Great job pilot. That was talent. Magnifico

  • congratulations!

  • Perfect landing :)

  • Amazing landing!!! perfectly smooth!

  • Obviously he had a gear problem...that's why he put it on the grass.

  • @Tomcat101alumI was there that day at Amberley. One of the wheels fell off after take off.The aircraft belly landed on the runway, snagging the arrestor cable with it's tail hook.Have a look on the video where the red/white striped box is.Thats where the barrier cable clutches are housed.

  • @Tomcat101alum Not on the grass, he engaged the arrestor cable so had to be central on the runway.

  • cool

  • lol good work :D

  • really a incredible landing!! it seems perfect...if we will not considerate the crash ;)

  • excellent landing

    Weldon to this pilot.

  • fly like a canned-guru...lnd like a canned-guru.

djee it's amazing you've get applause when you crashland an F-111 ARDVARK...

  • that was a great landing but what happen to the gears

  • I wouldn´t call it a crash. It was just a belly landing. And a good one at that!

  • Good landing considering he didn't have a landing gear!

  • perfect landing without gear.

    kudos

  • this is an RAAF F-111

  • dam that pilot ran fast!!!! thats some landing!!

  • dude at the start it looks lyk a car, going so low!

  • Very well done Mate!
