Have you seen anybody move up to alaska lately from the lower 48? Everyone I know in california is thinking of moving to Alaska after I told them what a goldmine it is.
Dem, any chance of you buying a fishing rod and doing a fishing video? I hear theres some great fishing up in your area. Easy way to survive if people can't afford to buy food.
why not just buy a cheap propane torch kit for starting fires? their not that heavy and Propane lasts a long time. Also small stoves can attach to them. Dual purpose?
It's nice you thank you viewers for watching, but seriously Reginald, Thank YOU for sorting through all the headlines and giving us the news, with some very amusing commentary thrown in. You have a great channel.
I'm not sure if eating canned meat products is the best idea. Maybe that's all they have up there, but try less processed foods. You can eat from the produce store alone (if you give up meat and fast food) for $30 a week. Nice big healthy meals.
I've been off sugar for years. Sometimes at Christmas and about 10 times a year or less -- That's it. HONEY! is much better! You feel better, buddy! Also get off of sodium ethylate, etc., whatever -- I don't know, that stuff! I bought some bacon and it had that stuff, sodium ethylate, or whatever, made me hungry for crap. If I eat out I go for the basicest, healthiest fast food that doesn't make me sick.
No, no, no, OBVIOUSLY SERIOUS DEPRESSION, NO "RECOVERY" -- Fertilizer!

Hope for the best but plan for the worse. If you need your preps youll be glad you have them. If theyre not needed youre set up for some great camping trips. Google Army Field Manuals & you can find books on navigating with a map & a compass. Its a good skill to have, especially in the boonies.
Hey DEMCAD, what's happening. I love the video part of the... well, you know me & seen my channel, I love Zombies...lol.
Its a great idea eating some can food to see if you are allergic or if you get any bad reaction w any of the food you have stored. You dont want to find out you can't eat them 100 cans of sardines you stored in the middle of the shit, you know.
Also buy cigarrettes lighters, a 10 pack is about $3 in Family Dollar type stores & the most important thing, lots of ammo. :)
BTW it's a best idea if the crisis coming to get out of the large cities to go to the country side where food actually is coming from. And...yeees, I have to admit North...let say faaaaaar north is a good place, viruses don't like cold you have ocean and mountains, woods and rivers, everything you need is there...well...except, as you mention...girls. Now, if the crisis comes it will be real "diversity"...no one will care about what you are but what you have. Lock and load.
We in Chicago at Target pull out all pistachios and anything that has to do with pistachios for some reason. So check your bag with pistachios on the net (we were pulling out Planters pistachios, not cashews or peanuts just pistachios, and mixes).

Alaska has cruise ships from other country's float by for sight seeing, yes Alaska is very beautiful! Even if zombies have taken it over, it happens to the best of us... lol funny video

...armed thugs. But get a .22 and a ton of that because it's cheap to shoot and you might end up using the bullets as a barter item. Imagine the barter scenarios when our currency collapses. Maybe you have gold and silver, but beans, bullets, and band-aids will be more valuable when people are trying to just stay alive. I would avoid spending money on collapse-protection metals when you might not be around to redeem them once a system is in place that will allow you to realize full value.
Canned fruits are good because they last a long time, but they often have lots of sugar - which isn't a bad thing if spread out. Get dried fruit and pack it air tight to vary your diet so you don't get sick of fruit cocktail. Plus, people have died in fights over who gets the cherries on top. Kidding.
You've got a shotgun, right? You might be better off getting to know your neighbors for group protection than spending the money on guns and ammo they you most likely will not be using to repel...
Focus on staples: beans, rice, flour. Store them properly - sealed, food grade buckets.
Get a lot of canned soups! Chili is great too, of course. Canned food is always on a rotating sale. Be smart and don't waste your money on canned vegetables which cost the nearly same, are half full of water, and take up the same amount of space as other canned items that are more calorie dense. Wars are won because of calories! Check the caloric content!
Learn your compass skills if you plan on hiking into the woods to forage/hunt because they don't grow canned food in AK, right? Your food supplies won't last long because in a collapse the shipments will stop, right? But you don't need compass skills if don't have a map of the area and map reading skills - basic orientation (which way is North?) to get back to "base" before dark!
I just checked my records (yes I'm crazy enough to scan all my receipts and keep detailed records of what I spend) and I saw that the last time I bought cashews (late march) I paid 11.17 for that same container of cashews. How much does it cost where you live?
Those cashew jars make excellent storage containers for rice or whatever when you're done with the nuts. Just take a blow dryer and heat up the inside of the jar then you can easily peal off the label, run it through the wash and you've got an excellent storage container.
Hey Demcad, I'd like to see you work on a B.O.B. "Bail Out Bag' in case you have to leave your house for whatever reason if things get real bad. You can watch many videos here on youtube about them, they are a good thing to have.
Reg, below I will give you a recipe that even us guys can make: Baked Spaghetti
You'll need a 13 inch long, 9 wide, 2 deep casserole dish, or something close to that.
Boil 1 pound of Spaghetti.
While noodles are boiling, saute half an onion & half clove of garlic in a little butter or oil, over med. heat until tender (Use large pan for this).
Then add 2 chopped tomatoes in pan & continue to cook. After 2 minutes or so, add one 26 oz jar of your favorite Spaghetti sauce & cook 2 more minutes.
Once noodles are cooked, layer bottom of dish with half inch of Spaghetti.
Then add layer of mixture from pan, covering noodles.
Then add layer of mozzarella cheese over sauce.
Then add layer of Cream Of Mushroom (from can mixed with water)
Then Repeat layers, starting with noodles. After that 2nd layer, sprinkle the top with Parmesan Cheese. Cover with foil. Place in oven @ 375 for 20-25 minutes.
This dish is delicious & easy to make & will last for days or longer.
se dryer LINT to start the fire, Save it everyday from the dryer, and then put it in a baggy and rubber band it. good to go, you only need to use a small portion and save the rest for another fire. works really good
yea i heard its a sinlge ladies paradise in Alaska. Where the men keep it real and treat a lady like they should be treated. They are very very hard working. I hear they won't cheat because, theirs hardly any women. Ive heard a few of my friends talkin bout moving their. but i just tell them stay close to Jesus, He will find a good man for them.
You must be referring to another part of Alaska. Men in Ketchikan are the same as the the ones down south, expect they're friendlier and they drink more.
don't forget vitamins C, D, B1, B6, B12 AND multi V i dont know if all those b's are good and a multi vitamin but i take C, B1, B6 AND MULTI EVERY DAY BUT I HAVE THE OTHERS STORED great video
Its a serious shame that you sit alone when you do your videos.
Invite some real friends and just record everything because a gang of nice friends who laugh around and telk serious would be greate. You can always sit together and cut it so everybody get happy before sending it to youtube.
See you never know how people perceive a Black man from Flint Michigan.. in Alaska.. But You are just the best.. I really enjoy your point of view and how you make your channel.. It is just interesting.. Nuts? Okay.. Thanks again for the post
Good videos. I really enjoy them. You have a natural flair for passing on information and your interests. Main thing to do right now, I guess, is to continue working to keep the income stream coming in. I don't know, but you might think about a roommate to share living expenses; Thanks for your videos.
Wow, after that zombie attack the place looked deserted. If they are the brain eating variety of zombie then I would let your hair grow longer as it provides a bit of a barrier for them to have to bite through. Make sure you have plenty of ammo for the shotgun to fight off the zombie attacks and if they are lying on the ground but still twitching you should finish them off with a shot to the head.
One of the problems with canned food is that because they are canned - they have added on values - for instance raw food could be say $1.00 with canned good they add in the values plus plus, hence you are paying 5 or 6 or may be up to 10 times the raw food you could buy from the market. How about you consider going native - the original Eskimo way - preserved food. I could not think of any off the top of my head, but if you research you might be able to find some. Oh, such as jerkies, they keep.
It's OK to eat out of cans, but if you're going to do that, incorporate some fresh high fiber stuff like nuts (preferably unsalted), grape nuts or bran cereal, lots of fresh fruits. Keep eating from the cans, but incorporate some fresher stuff as a regular part of your meals. Also, check out the Bersa .380 Thunder. It comes in 9mm, .40, and .45. I'd go with 9mm, but the gun itself runs between $250 to $350. It would make an ideal & affordable home defense handgun. Good video. Take care!
Are you able to start a container garden. Maybe plant tomatoes or lettuce in flower pots to have your own fresh produce. Have you purchased canned fruits and vegetables? I do not know if that is expensive in Alaska or fresh produce is expensive. Do you have a wood stove in your residence? Once basic utilities are gone you would need to find your own souce for heat, water, electricity, sanitation. I really enjoy your videos.
Great video. Your positive attitude shines through, and it's very encouraging to see how focused your are on preparedness. As for the zombie attack, LOL, I hope your new shotgun came handy ;)
DEMCAD, SERIOUSLY? Grow a garden ALREADY... SHEESH... AVOID THE CANNED GARBAGE UNTIL THE SHTF.... eat healthy until then... buy FRESH and LOCAL... MEATS, FISH, POULTRY, ELK, BEAR, DEER, SEAFOOD, VEGGIES ... WOW MAN WAKE UP MY FRIEND WAKE UP ... : )
In the summer you can grow some amazing gardens up there. Because of the long summer days you can get amazing results. I saw a video about a garden in Alaska that was truly astounding. The guy had a hard time keeping the moose out of it though.
I'm with you about the collapse. At the pace they are printing and spending money, there is no doubt. Anyone that believes the public news broadcast BS is just naive. Everyone keep on stocking up on neccessities. Our government is in their own little world and the majority of them don't even see it coming except maybe, the elite.
im huddled up in the corner right now eating my tuna with my shot gun making sure nobody steals my green beans and almonds ,i have my cumpas too demcad so i know which way my lighter and pretzels are ,,,lol
And I'm gonna be one of those moving to Alaska...but not Ketchikan (unfortunately). I'm transferring out to Fairbanks, AK (UAF, Spring 2010) to finish my degree in their Wildlife Biology program. I can't wait! And yes, I've heard all the horror stories of how cold it gets there. I'm still excited. Hopefully I can end up by the Ketchikan area when I'm done. Looks nice there.
I don't think I ever would've gotten the idea to move to Alaska if it wasn't for your videos...thanks Reginald!!
People don't know but, you can eat what you want..., but,, the trick is,,, eating in "MODERATION"!!!If you have a craving for some cookies & ice cream "Yes" get it some...some..!! But don't continuely eat all the cookies up and 3 bowls of ice cream!!!lol lolNow you going over board!!
LOL!!! 30 Days of Night in Ketchikan. Demcad, keep on posting videos as you do so when those who you say venture up north don't have a chance at snatching your job because you have a following in all 50 states!
Demcad, you said food up there's expensive. What does fresh food (produce) cost up there? I bet fresh fish must be reasonable up there-very healthy, and you know where it comes from.
I think you should seriously consider growing out a humongous AFRO ! ! !

More than some of the other nuts.
Thanks for the other tips and information.

I just checked my records (yes I'm crazy enough to scan all my receipts and keep detailed records of what I spend) and I saw that the last time I bought cashews (late march) I paid 11.17 for that same container of cashews. How much does it cost where you live?
vention4wh 2 years ago
It was on sale for 9.99
DEMCAD 2 years ago

StevenM818 2 years ago
Baked Spaghetti continued:

Where? In Ketchikan?
lol....
You must be referring to another part of Alaska. Men in Ketchikan are the same as the the ones down south, expect they're friendlier and they drink more.

Thanks for showing us the dark side of Ketchikan:) Great video!

Fu** greate video.
I seriously love your attitude.
Its a serious shame that you sit alone when you do your videos.
Invite some real friends and just record everything because a gang of nice friends who laugh around and telk serious would be greate. You can always sit together and cut it so everybody get happy before sending it to youtube.
Set up a demcad War Room :)
Seriously greate hehehehehee

Hey, Demcad.
My advice, not that you asked, is to try to stay away from those canned foods. Save those.
Eat as fresh as possible, now, because I dont see any reason to make yourself suffer before you actually are suffering.
RosElisabeth 2 years ago 2
I'm enjoying the canned foods. Besides, the fresh fruits are extremely expensive.

Do you go to Ballet to check out the hot chicks. Good idea I should learn how to dance too.

It's a high school production. So most of them are under 18.

But I like ballet anyway. Plus, it gives me something to do.

Oh, such as jerkies, they keep.
yaplonglong 2 years ago
It's OK to eat out of cans, but if you're going to do that, incorporate some fresh high fiber stuff like nuts (preferably unsalted), grape nuts or bran cereal, lots of fresh fruits. Keep eating from the cans, but incorporate some fresher stuff as a regular part of your meals. Also, check out the Bersa .380 Thunder. It comes in 9mm, .40, and .45. I'd go with 9mm, but the gun itself runs between $250 to $350. It would make an ideal & affordable home defense handgun. Good video. Take care!

A suggestion, at the end when you have the thank you and please comment clip, I would have some message asking people to subscribe to your channel.

I really enjoy your videos.
cushmandavis 2 years ago
Great video. Your positive attitude shines through, and it's very encouraging to see how focused your are on preparedness. As for the zombie attack, LOL, I hope your new shotgun came handy ;)

Garden in alaska? Is that possible?
BloodiedHorror 2 years ago
In the summer you can grow some amazing gardens up there. Because of the long summer days you can get amazing results. I saw a video about a garden in Alaska that was truly astounding. The guy had a hard time keeping the moose out of it though.

Hey Reg
I baked for dinner some frozen salmon my boss caught and had packed and frozen in Ketchikan (at The Cedars Lodge, it says on the package).
BTW, get some Bay's Seasoning in the yellow shaker; its really good on fish and seafood!
