@MrPervost my bad i thought the LFA was turbocharged, usually cars when a car whistles its turbocharged, but i guess it could also have an intake, my mistake sorry, you learn new things everyday!
@MrChickenpants Its the infamous McLaren F1 exhaust note that resulted in become associated with super cars, Lexus designed a musical instrument actually. Its exhaust has two completely separate pipes to an individual sub muffler then to a gigantic end muffler leading to the 3 tail pipes. Find a video where you can hear its downshifts. Thats the best sound in my opinion-you can hear a classic muscle car in it with the perfect cracking noise
@azn20typer FOR THOSE THAT THINK THIS CAR IS OVERPRICED.... it is no where NEAR overpriced.
The amount of technology, detail, man hours, years of development materials used even to the build process this car is worth... and many automotive journalist have said after they drove this beast its worth it too. Plus this Lexus is shittin on ferrari and lambo on the race track ! and those car cost more then the LFA...
Also, we need to remember Lexus has a hardcore version as well (as if the stock version is not hardcore enough LOL).
The 570 HP Nurburgring edition Lexus LFA is a hardcore track car meant for club racing. It comes with a far more track oriented suspension, racing slick super sport tires, a faster shifting transmission, 10 more horsepower.
Early laps have shown Nurburgring edition LFA is putting down lap times comparable with the 599 GTO and Pagani Zonda R.
Pricing of Europe for the LP700 is completely independent of the pricing in US. LP700 is priced at 310,000 Euros, but that is because of European union and no export costs since LP700 is manufactured in Europe.
In the US, the pricing due to export costs will be a lot higher. Even the LP670 super veloce MSRP used to be $510,000 and with full carbon fiber, the LP700 is going to be a lot more expensive.
Oh yeah, with launch control Lexus LFA (through Video VBOX telemetry) on Speed channel with Tanner Foust driving the LFA pulled a 0 - 60 mph in only 3.24 seconds and 1/4 mile in 11.2 seconds@128 mph. Again, confirmed through video VBOX telemetry.
Lexus severely underrated it's 0- 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, because it was officially without launch control system.
C&D compared Lexus LFA with 599 GTB HGTE and Lexus LFA beat the 599 GTB in 0 - 60, 1/4 mile, handling winning overall comparison.
Evo Magazing UK recently awarded Lexus LFA with the "best engine of the year".
Guess what cars were in the running that LFA beat?? 458 Italia, SLS AMG, '12 R35.2 GTR, LP570-4, Evora, R8 V10, GT2 and GT3 RS 3.8 Liter H6.
They said Lexus LFA's throttle response (idle to 9500 rpm in 0.5 secs), F1 dense V10 shriek, 9500 rpm, wall of torque from 3000 - 9500 rpm and a V10 that is smaller and lighter than a 3.0 Liter V6 makes it the best and most thrilling engine of the year.
@subaruwrxfan You know, I figured the same thing but you have to consider that this is probably in the same category as Alfa Romeos.....No matter the price there is that "Alfa Magic" lol
That car I feel has that same magic....Once you sit in it and startup that sweet V10 and rev it a few times you really feel that raw power....As far as V10's go, I'd take a Lambo anyday ;)
@statjr As I said "Evo UK" recently did the "best engine of the year" (again, a European publication) and Lexus LFA's V10 won the "best engine of the year" beating LP570-4, SLS AMG, 458 Italia, Evora, '12 GTR R35.2, R8 V10, GT3>2 RS.
@subaruwrxfan That is why all 500 are sold out. Right??? It has the stuff that no $200K car has. Only 500 ever built. 70% carbon fiber construction, a V10 that is smaller than a 3.0 Liter V6, a 9500 rpm rev limit that sounds like a pure F1 racing car, the pure Lexus reliability (already proven since these prototypes have over 8000 miles on them of hard 9500 rpm revving on track and still no issues whatsoever. That is bullet proof).
@SpeedKlz Lol They're not sold out, you can't even buy the car, you have to lease it through Lexus and then they give you the option to buy it once the lease is finished. My car (2006 Subaru Legacy GT Spec B) was limited to only 500 cars, mine is #371, so being "limited" doesn't make it any better. The motor in the car is cool, but the car isn't very fast, and for that kind of money you'll be able to get the new Lamborghini LP700. The new lambo will do 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, and embarass the Lexus
@subaruwrxfan You are full of sht!!!. The LP700 for the price of Lexus LFA?? Are you f'king kidding me?? Pull your head out of your a**! The LP700 has been confirmed to cost more than $600K.
Even an LP670 Super Veloce MSRP exactly in US is $500K and Lexus LFA destroys the LP670 around a race track (yes, LFA was compared against most supercars in Europe).
Even in CarAndDriver LFA beat 599 GTB with HGTE handling package in every category and won the overall comparison.
@subaruwrxfan Confirmed from Lamborghini US website, the exact base price (without any options) is $750,000 and with options it will be south of $800K so you don't f'king know what you are talking about. Lexus LFA fully loaded with every option is costing $375,000.
Oh yeah, welcome to 8 months ago. LFA buyers wanted to buy out the car and not lease it so Lexus decided to change it to sale with a no-flip contract since lease was to prevent people from selling the car for immediate profit.
@SpeedKlz Lol, you're funny, $750,000 confirmed huh? Got a link? A good friend of mine just ordered his LP700, the starting price is just under 400k. Don't believe me? Subscribe to my YouTube channel and you'll see videos this summer of me riding in it. It's the Murcielago replacement, so it's only gonna be a little more expensive than the Murcie is. And not only is the performance gonna be crazier than the LFA, it looks way sweeter. I've already seen it.
@subaruwrxfan You are a liar. You are talking pre-orders and they were done in a pre-sale price. The official price for the LP700 in US it will be over $750,000. Even the older LP670-4's base MSRP was $510,000 before any options. I There is no f'king way a LP700 with all carbon fiber monococque will be cheaper than the older super veloce.
@SpeedKlz Where is your proof that the car is 750k? If it's "confirmed" then there should be lots of websites reporting that. There are none. I know how much the LP670-4 SV costs, and I'm telling you, carbon fiber monocoque, 700 hp and all, this car is going to be cheaper than the SV. Lambo needs to sell more cars. If you think i'm lying, wait until the car is unveiled to the public at Geneva. My friend would not have ordered the car if it was 750k, he would just get an SV instead.
@subaruwrxfan I can guarantee you it will be in that same ballpark. The pricing confirmed was for Europe actually where at 310, 0000 Euros, base price is 60,000 Euros more expensive than the LP670-4 super veloce base price. No official pricing in the US yet.
Following that trend, the LP700 SHOULD be more expensive in the US than the LP670-4 super veloce which stickered at $510,000 while 250,000 Euros in Europe.
@SpeedKlz Lol if you think you got it all figured out that's great. I'm glad you finally admitted that there is no official pricing in the US yet instead of claiming 750k again. "Should" doesn't mean it will. Fully loaded, with every option, the LP700 will be around 500k, but the base price is nowhere near that. What you are forgetting is that the SV is the top of the line, limited production. This is starting a new cycle. The SV version of the LP700 will be much more expensive for sure.
@SpeedKlz you are wrong on this. I saw the car in person as part of the invitation only preview in the US. I already have an order in, so I ought to know. The US price is not released but my sources indicate that a rep from company says with the exception of a few options, the car will be around the low $400K. BTW, the LP670 never broke $500K in the US--i should know because I almost bought one. Maybe you're thinking of a different currency? SWF is correct about what he is saying. Sorry man.
@DoctaM3 Well, just wait and see then. There is no much else I could do. I am talking US dollar currency. I personally know someone who paid $510,000 for his LP670-4 plus a few extra options. However, the car is huge and very heavy at 3900 lbs. The LP700 is supposed to address the weight issue.
In my book, the LP700 will be far more expensive to build since carbon fiber is extremely expensive, especially if it is used as much as it is used in Lexus LFA (70% carbon fiber).
@SpeedKlz uhmm... you can't just do a direct currency conversion. That is not how it works in the US. if you did that, the exotics would be far more expensive in the US. The world seems to pay a hell of a lot more. look at what any of the exotics cost in Asia and you will understand. I am an owner of a Lambo, so you should give me some credit that i might know what i am talking about. I stand by the price range. Your friend overpaid for his car. Keep on speculating--come with facts next time.
CONFIRMED, OFFICIAL LP700 in Europe is more expensive than the LP670-4 by about 60,000 Euros. Again, this is confirmed and no single iota of doubt here.
So that begs the question, who on good green earth would lambo make the LP700 cheaper than LP670-4 in North American (US/Canada). Makes no sense whatsoever.

@DoctaM3 Again, look at this way.

@subaruwrxfan It may seem overpriced, but Toyota actually loses money for each one they sell.
