Why is HE called the snake hunter when Steve Irwin held the world's most deadliest snake and didn't care at all! It's because Steve Irwin knows how to get into the snake's mind, to understand it, to get it to understand him.
@sherry3732 dude this this guy has held more snakes than steve irwin. plus for your information not only has he picked up the largest python in the world but also a king cobra and lived to tell the tale. did i mention the king cobra is the largest venemous snake in the world. plus steve irwin is more of a crocodile guy and lets be honest steve irwin is like number 2 compared to austin stevens, but of course steve irwin will always be remembered for his respect for wildlife
@DrWhoFreak100 If you knew anything about handling venomous snakes you would have realized that Stevens does some pretty stupid and life threatening things when he handles snakes. Just ask yourself "How many time has he got bit?"
@operazek "how many times has he got bit?" hmmm twice, but there was this one time where a snake lashed out and cut his finger but no venom went into austins blood. thats more of just a simple cut than a bite. but steve irwin has also done pretty stupid things, but he always has a team to help him. he is number two compared to stevens because austin does it all by himself. plus he does it because its his job
@DrWhoFreak100 Of course Irwin has done stupid things but as you said it's not his job to handle snakes. When your job is to handle snakes it's expected of you not make stupid mistakes and take unnecessary risks. Do you really think that Austin is doing this all by himself?!
@operazek look everyone makes mistakes that are stupis, including steve irwin. its a risk to go out searching for venemous snakes, but its not unnecessary if its your job. not on his own? well i mean yeah hes got a film crew, but he doesnt have a team with him to deal with the animal, steve does
@DrWhoFreak100 Its TV the animals are planted... Do you really believe everything that Austin Stevens says in his show? The closest to the real thing was probably Mark O'Shea's show where he actually looks for the animals while he's filming (of coarse not every time) It's clear to me that you are a very naive person and you believe everything they tell you so I won't argue with you anymore
@operazek exactly, Mark's the man, there you could see an actual work be done. Also it's not only planted it's cooled down (abused) as well, very typical of AS's videos (ASs haha :DD fitting) anyone who handled a few hundred snakes knows that retic or that anaconda should've hurt the bastard pretty badly otherwise...he wasnt even holding the conda by the neck, all of them bites back if they're not very tame...or cooled.(at the end it barely moves)..also type Scary Short Common Lancehead
We should put Les Stroud, Austin Stevens, the (sadly) late Steve Irwin, Bear Grylls, and McGyver in the middle of god knows where together and film them.
@jerricaher he didnt replace him....steve irwin was a hepatologist...this guy is a wildlife photographer and herpitologist and he goes to places to photograph snakes...different things
@jerricaher ok 1st of all, nobody can replace the work of steve irwin. 2nd austin stevens and steve irwin have totally different jobs. i mean come on everyone must admit that both austin stevens and steve irwin "danced with death" but austin stevens is just an amazing photographer and knows exactly how to deal with snakes better than steve irwin.
ah yes, that well known species the "Giant Lancehead viper". Oh wait, you mean Bothrops asper. Otherwise known as, well lots of names, but not Giant Lancehead. So, umm, this name Giant Lancehead... wouldnt have anything to do with the fact that he went to Costa Rica looking for a bushmaster, but couldnt find one, would it?
Moronic television for moronic people.
And another thing, would anywhere on the Osa peninsula qualify as "several days from medical attention"? I doubt it!
He is out of his mind handling that snake. I ran into a 7 ft Lance in Belize. It was about 3 feet away from us in the middle of the trail we were hiking when we noticed it.
OMG I almost died!! And this guy is sick in the head. Get a still from the video if you want a picture. Cameraman must be crazy, too. Either that, or it's robotic snake.
@trans9able Yes the inland Taipan is the most venomous to mice... However there is absolutely ZERO proof that it is the most venomous to humans....just like their is ZERO proof for any other snake having that distinction.
Humans haven't got the faintest clue which snakes have the drop for drop toxic venom to humans..and we will probably never know
i saw one of these laying eggs on the sand over a dry river bed in my country. the locals told me that these snakes have such a potent venom that it not only affects your neurological system but it also causes skin necrosis on the area were it bites, is a really disgusting way of dying. i was lucky i didn't get bitten, i actually confused the snake with a boa and i wanted it to pick up until someone turned up and told me not to do it.
ya king cobras venom is not that strong, sea snakes, taipan and black mamba, and the indian krait, tiger snake.these are some of the most poisonous snakes..but the most deadly is jararacussu
ya king cobras venom is not that strong, sea snakes, taipan and black mamba, and the indian krait tiger snake.these are some of the most poisonous snakes..but the most deadly is jararacussu
in my country we do not fuck with dis snake...... it will kill u! we call it a Mapapi and hunter don't interfer with dis bitch I would love for him to visit Mapapi Valley...lol dis snake bites like a dog it bites u as much times as it can reach u
First, the monkeys alarm calls were probably because he was lumbering through the jungle. He doesn't think it's about him.
Second, the he says the snake strikes with little provocation. He's provoking the snake quite a bit. The snake is reacting to what it thinks is a predator. Maybe it is more aggressive than other snakes, but not in this case.
"All I want is to position the snake to get a good photograph" Hahahaha thats all he wants from a venomous snake with enough poison able to kill two dozen people
those little white and black monkeys are awesome, them damn african monkeys are too big, id like about 3 of those little monkeys runnin around my yard
why does everyone take a joke at austin stevens. so what is steve irwin was a legend, hes not as good as this guy. austin steven is the best hunter iv seen on tv, not steve irwin. look, if it makes u feel better, i miss him too, we'll all remember him, RIP steve irwin, but come on. this guy would explode with laughed watching steve irwin
unbelievable! haha this guy is great. love the way he always starts with "i mustn't do anything stupid...". what hero. plus he knows marshall arts. boom.
The first strike from the snake made the monkeys scream lol. That is a huge snake, in Venezuela we call it " Mapanare" . They are very aggressive and have a very potent venom.
@ttCrawsaive Out of all the "famous" snake hunters, he's the biggest dick. He is a great photographer that's for sure, but his programs have too much dramatic actions and music in it...maybe just for show but still. He's not the most professional and sooner or later he's going to get whacked on a deadly scale. Like his programs but not him.

i understood everything you said , but do you ever utilize your spell-check. it would help not to have to read everything twice. just a little hint, not looking for a fight.
yes austin is one of the best he never met steve irwin but said my hart goes to him and family and siad he will follow on steves work so ppl that go on about a new steve irwin. here he is austin stevens
what he's doing is educating people that snakes are not evil, no way shape or form that he is hurting them, you can tell this guy as a passion for reptiles and snakes in general...just like Steve Irwin was...the fact you are wishing him to get hurt or death makes you evil, ignorant and immature.
Of course. I never implied that it being a captive specimen made things any less dangerous, or any less real. I never said anything about it being a venomoid, so what you're saying is pretty obvious. The amount of respect I have for Austin, the snake, and the situation remains the same.
After consulting wikipedia, apparently Austin went to Costa Rica originally to film the Bushmaster but was unable to find one, instead he stumbled upon the oversized Lancehead and so the episode was changed to that.
He later found a Bushmaster in South America in another episode
I've been working in Guatemala jungle and what Austin is doing with this snake is really dangerous and, as he say, that one is really big. Normaly snakes when ear you they go away, but this have a special character and gets angry very easy and wait for you. People who live in the jungle are really scared of this type of snake which kills lot of people every year.
@greekamerican1961they're related,we have them both in Trinidad, the bushmaster is bigger but this is more aggressive and waits for you !!! prolly the most aggressive snake in the world!
Yes sr... it is a Bothrops asper...the most dangerous viper in Mexico and northern central america...if you get a bite, you'd better get some medical attention or you are dead meat...watch your steps in jungle....
i love Costa Rica ^^

Thanks

This is a "barba amarilla".
Congratulations Austin Stevens, you're great!!!
