  • In 2004 and 2006, I volunteered at Joshua House in Lviv. I encountered amazing children..once abandoned, now rescued by missionaries and led to the Father's arms. They experienced healing and saw God's love first-hand. Jim and Sandy lost their son Joshua at 3 weeks old, hence the name of the ministry. Through the devastation of their loss, God brought hope to them by making them instruments of healing and love to the abandoned orphans of Ukraine.

  • omg wow i would try and find good homes for all them beautiful children xx

  • @LeonieLuvsMichaelJac

Im trying to start a new project i need ppl.please let me know

  • the orphanage they show in this video look a lot batter then the one i was in....i was raised five years in a soviet ruin orphanage. great video we need more awarness of this orphans

  • Whats the first song? some one please tell me :) tnx

  • @101VictoriaSecret Tears of the Saints by a band called Leeland.

  • @danielcbowen thnx :)

  • I cherish the though that one day all countries of the world will be run by orphans who have made it. They know the real meaning of sufferings and pains and they shall spare us and our children from the ugliness we have created.

  • That would be great. I know the world is run by Narcissistic attention seekers who have been bought by sociopaths. we need to improve fast.

  • i have been so emotional to day. my daughter is in ukraine adopted a little girl. i can't to meet her.

  • Its my husband's and my dream to adopt a child from both the U.S. and a foreign country. Some day our dreams will come true. :)

  • it is a very good idea to adopt, but why from another country ?

  • Oh Dear I want those babies!

  • it has always been my desier to adopt at least 20 kids when i grow up. if the lord wills my first will be adopted when i am 25, i am 19 right now. i want to make sure i am financially stable before adopting. i cry for the children and just want to show them that someone cares and wants them. i believe it is something the lord has placed on my heart. i will not only be adopting from the US where i live but many different countries as well to create a diverse family.

  • It's a shame knowing that these babies will grow up never knowing who their parents were...

  • @Kelarre653 atleast they are alive and their parents didnt abort them. these kids although have empty whole in families have potential to do something.

  • I have visited and done work in orphanages in Ukraine, in Kiev, Odessa and Znamenka near Kirovograd. Whilst the standards of these orphanages were poor by UK / USA standards, through partnerships with a number of religious organisations including my own, The Salvation Army. standards are improving. I'd also pay tribute to CCRDF, the Ukrainian charity Children of Chernoblyl Research and development Fund who do amazing work in the 28 State orphanages in Ukraine.

  • Where is this Orphanage??

  • I spoke with my bestfriend today and she told me of a missionary that recently came to their church that works in the Ukraine Orphanage. After watching this video, I know now what my heart has been crying out for so long. I'm going to move forward and follow my heart and become a missionary outside of my home. Thank you again for sharing this video. I feel the weight that has been on heart has been lifted. I don't know where it's going to take me except to the youth of our world. God Bless

  • I just wanted to thank you for this video. I've been trying to figure out what I want to do with my life now that my son has graduated and is starting his own life, I always knew I had a missionary heart but never thought it would go past living in my house. I'm a single mom, twice divorced. I've always had a heart for kids. When my son graduated this year along with all the kids I've seen grow up, I've been beside myself not knowing what to do now.

  • I removed the recent negative comments. Sorry everyone had to read those.

  • @danielcbowen Don't apologise. Sociopaths do exist and these machines' fun is stealing rom another. the trick is to have extreme poverty in their terms with extreme riches socially. The Sociopaths gravitate away.

  • Teaching children/teens to be self sufficient is so important to thier mental/emotional health. I was impressed with the orphange that also had agriculture, greenhouses and livestock. Ukraine is a country rich with natural resources. Seems to me one of the best things that can be done for these children and people is to teach self reliance.

  • why so many people sofer in this world my GOD...........

  • indeed

  • poor kids..................................=(

  • I removed the negative comments. they weren't helping anyone!

  • soo sad:(

  • very sweet

  • OK this video made me cry!! i couldnt help it....God bless those kids....They still have no idea where they are being kept!my God! btw the song is soo nice, anyone knows who sings it?

  • The song is "Tears of the Saints" by Leeland :)

  • aww bless there little hearts

  • whai is the musics name

  • scroll down. i answered that for someone else.

  • That's shit I was told I was born in a garbage bag. The orphanages purposely show the best section of the orphanage just so they can take your money.

  • Not sure what you mean. I saw some pretty crappy parts of both orphanages. I know the people who run the second orphanage in the video and they are reputable. I saw a pretty accurate slice of life there.

  • who sings this song? its beautiful.

    hit me back.

  • the first song is "tears of the saints" by leeland. The second song is "The Shadow Proves the Sunshine" by Switchfoot. The harp part at the end is from a song called "In a Sweater Poorly Knit" by mewithoutYou. I highly recommend all of those bands. Thanks for checking out my video.

  • The authorities need to improve support services for parents. Knowing there's support for children particularly those with special needs (disabilities). There will then be a move away from abandonment back to life at home as it should be.

  • what is the song called?

loved the vido, i am traveling to urkaine on 22th febryary to visit two different orphanage my self

  • omg they are so cute , im single and i dont mind to be a sinlge mother , i wish i could adopt 1 of them

  • this was hard to watch ... im a mother and i would never abandon my child i would die for my baby :''(

  • man what a bummer

  • just saw this video and I'm glad they still have a safe place to stay instead of being on the street. God bless those people that are taking care of them i hope these kids can be adopted for a nice family and they can build their life!

  • i think its redic. that there are so many children who need homes and the government only cares about making money, if they were truely smart a country would give the children to deserving families free of charge, that would surely allow them to gain amazing recognition. if i could i would adopt every child in need of a home but im only 18 myself. <3 best we can do is pray.

  • My husband and I want to adopt from the Ukraine so bad, but it is very expensive and I am still paying school loans. Hopefully one day we'll be able to take a child home.

  • How does the adoption process takes place over there..? Can anyone out there with a fine information kindly detailed me please..I will appreciate your effort and everything.

I really wanna do this adoption thing but I don't how to go about it neither do I know where to start but I guess posting a comment here can be a good start..thanks!!!

  • my brother was adopted from a orphanage but idk which one

  • 3w.ucraniaonline point com

  • Thank you for your concern and this video. This is a shame that our government only cares about being reelected..

  • I'm a dad of six and three of my children have disabilities (all three have autism, the second born has Down's Syndrome, too). We need to change the mindset of Ukranians who need to more like the Poles in the following way: They need to accept their children as they are and not throw them away. In the UK the old Social Orphanages were closed in the 1980s. This needs to happen in the Ukraine. In their place, Special Needs Schools have emerged, with children transported to and from home by bus.

  • all these children deserve a loving home and it is upsetting how many childless couples in ukraine do not adopt these children. there was this one story of a ukrainian family who adopted a baby with a heart-disease and all the orphanage workers were saying that there's no point adopting him and giving him a surgery that they got better kids and it's better leave him to die....morons

  • Actually it's not so easy to adopt a child nowadays. I know a Spanish woman who struggled for years to adopt a Ukrainian child. And after years of waiting, spending her money for trips to Ukraine, she was refused because of the new law(she was single). And I know for sure that the orphanages demand that the children with disabilities be adopted first. But it is also true that the orphanage workers often commit crimes, treating those poor children like beasts.. this is scary..

  • it takes years to adopt healthy children but kids with disabilities take much less. i believe that family only spent a few months.

  • Beautiful children, Beautiful Vision!! May God Bless the work of your hands:)

  • What is the song in this? Thanks.

  • "tears of the saints" by leeland is the first song and "the shadow proves the sunshine" is the second song. The last harp part is from a song called "in a sweater poorly knit" by mewithoutYou. Enjoy.

  • Thanks so much. :) Sorry for being kind of ambiguous with my question. Thank you much for putting this video up. I'm read a statistic that 10-15% of orphans from the Ukraine and Russia commit suicide. Thanks so much for putting this up and getting peoples' attention.

  • A few kids from a Ukrainian Christian orphanage came the Ukrainian Bible Church in Milwaukie, Oregon. They were introduced to the church. Lemme tell you, they are better off in a Christian orphanage where they can find God and live in the presence of God. Without God, they will end up like the parents that abandoned them. This is an amazing video, i hope that the orphanage is built. God Bless!

  • They are better off anywhere in a loving home that supports them, regardless of religion.

  • i strongly disagree

  • I'm not saying that orphans shouldn't go to religious families, I'm just saying that any loving home that supports you and teaches you to be a good person is far better off than any orphanage - even Christian ones. People who aren't religious can be good people too.

  • you're right, a loving home is the best situation for any child, yet statistics show that the majority of orphans are never adopted so it is that much more important to teach them values both family and religious while they are in the orphanage.

Orphans are much more open to religion as that may be the only place where they feel like they belong, someone loves them, cares about them and wants them to succeed. and It's where they may learn to replace the missing love of a parent with God's love

  • As much as what you plan to do is nice, I sure hope you do not raise them into your denomination and religion. Make sure they always have the option of learning about other religions and philosophical beliefs, athiesm, agnosticism, etc.

  • I am not religious, but I think religion doesn't matter in cases such as these, particularly in regards to orphans - it doesn't matter what religion you are, as long as you're doing something that benefits the future of our children. What you've done here is amazing and I found it so touching.

  • right and anyways God is just one and ....religious orphanage or not they dont take care of those kids how they need to...cause of money!!!ukraine is soo poor country

  • totally wrong. there are soooo many Ukrainian Christian churches in America. hundreds of thousands of dollars every year are donated to CHRISTIAN orphanages in Ukraine.

  • totally wrong. there are soooo many Ukrainian churches in America that in total donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to CHRISTIAN orphanages in Ukraine. sorry to disappoint you.

  • OMG!!What do you know about it?maybe they donate but its never enough!!!!so get it!!my friend from America adopted a kid...and they just said it was horrible he was sooo skinny and stuff...and i know cause i am visiting orphanages every year...different once..and people in orphanages are taking about problems..and the biggest is money..they need a lot medicine and stuff!

  • yeah the state run orphanages are crap. but the christian ones are pretty good. i met 7 orphans from ukriane last week. a friend of mine had one of them stay at his house and he asked the kid if he wanted to stay in america and the kid said NO cuz the orphanage is really good. because its a CHRISTIAN orphanage... i know a lil more than u... im actually Ukrainian... ive known about this my whole life.

  • dude i am Ukrainian too!but i ma not taking just about those Christian once!there are not that much christian once as once with no religion...but whatever...kids need more care there

  • oh well i was talking about christian ones... they get alot of money from the Ukrainian churches in the USA... the states ones dont. thats why i think that God will bless the church that is trying to build a orphanage in Ukraine

  • I am Ukrainian and my brother is the director of one of the largest orphan ministries in Ukraine so I can tell you for a fact that it is not really true, in the state run orphanages they don't care for the children the way they should but in the majority of the private orphanages that are usually run by religious organizations or at least sponsored by them the children are treated well and are taught values which in the long run help them stay out of a life of crime, drugs and prostitution.

  • Hi,

I have just read that your brother is a Director at one of the largest orphanages in the Ukraine. Is there any possible way that 'ordinary Australians' can do something to help? Say for example send clothes of an excellent quality?

  • apparently the mission that my bro works for has an office in Australia. It's Ugol ministries and the phone # there is (02) 98375732, you'd want to find out more about helping the Agape Ministries department of Ugol, or you can contact the office in the US at 1(888)861-9572 where they will put you in contact with the department itself. They will be able to better assist you there as I am not affiliated with the mission and am not familiar with it's policies.

  • @medperson1 What pressure is being applied on the State to provide support for parents? Institutionalisation is the dumping of unwanted kids rather like taking a broken washing machine to the rubbish dump. Children with disabilities fare worse in this scenario: I am not trying to judge: 4 of my 6 children have disabilities (all with autism and with one, Down's Syndrome , too) so I know it's hard. I have an idea of the difficulties. Life at home is the answer, not institutions.

  • @Isochest I completely agree with you, not only is it best for children with disabilities to be raised at home by loving parents but it is also an amazing, yet difficult, blessing and joy for the parents.

the government has done nothing to help these families and worse yet they have done nothing to change the opinions of people about children with disabilities. to change the perception of "normal"

  • @medperson1 The view of the UK Government is it's cheaper to support families than run these institutions. In hard headed terms the home support option is cheaper even with generous stipends being paid to families of disabled children (subject to eligibility by care requirements)

  • @Isochest Yeah that is assuming that these kids get proper care in these institutions, which God knows in Ukraine they do not. this may be one time where i actually agree with the government.

  • @medperson1 Children are better off in family units where they grow and mature according to both their own abilities and parents'/guardians' input. You know this. That's why it's cheaper to support parents because they will get productive adults who will in many cases be able to work pay taxes and be an economic driver of Ukraine Inc. :-))))

  • @medperson1 Well I do it but in the UK it's easier. Life throws what it does at you. I just do what I must. We need to pressure the UA government to support and invest in disabled chidren and probably cut it's budget for them in the long run by closing those grim institutions.

  • @Isochest I couldn't agree with you more, but that's just the problem, government! the Ukrainian government is so broken that in order to fix anything in the country the government needs to be completely overhauled from top to bottom or it has to be done by private parties altogether.

  • @medperson1 Yes, the Ukranian Government had to disband the Traffic Police, the DAI because they were so corrupt. But a network of NGOs can work with the Government and show them the way if they have the guts and application to take this course. Regarding attitudes to disability I had to tell off a knee jerk authoritarian type of man (who clammed up smartish) for having a go at a boy with autism in my charge when he boarded a tram we were on.

  • @Isochest maybe but from what I have seen and the stories I have heard it would take nothing short of an act of God for anything to change for these kids in Ukraine, and that quite frankly hurts me to know that my own people can be so callous and self-absorbed.

  • @medperson1 But you have people like Olga Bogdashina who has written world class books on psychology regarding autism and is founder of the Autism Society of Ukraine. The good people can act as role models for the self-absorbed who are weak with their herd instinct rushing for the lowest common denominator. As is the case everywhere, people have to be shamed into improving. They have to realise their behaviour is not good enough.

  • @Isochest you're preaching to the choir

the thing with these "mentally disabled" kids is that most of them were not mentally disabled when they came to the orphanages. their mental disability came from the trauma they suffered and the lack of emotional and physical bonds they had at the orphanage that made them become labeled as "mentally disable." sure some of them really do suffer from mental illness, but the majority of it is caused but the lack of love that they experienced early on.

  • @medperson1 Well I hadn't given that enough thought. True what you say, dumping kids creates vast problems where there were none. No wonder these countries are generally in poor shape economically morally & spiritually. Have you had interest from the local media? This could make those at the top pay attention.

  • Comment removed

  • @medperson1 I'm just interested what can be done to improve support for parents of children with disabilities. I realise in the Ukraine a lot of children with disabilities are dumped because of pressure by the so called medical profession. I know being a parent of such children (6 : 4 with autism and 1 with Down's Syndrome, too) its not easy but it's a joy, too.

  • @G0IMB there is an organization called Ukraine Medical Outreach, Inc. and they do just this, work with the medical community to get them to see beyond the stigma of disability. you should definately check them out. ukrainemedicaloutreach org

  • @medperson1 Hi! I am part of a youth group in the USA. Could you give me the name of your brothers ministry? Thanks!

  • @fishdified it's Agape Ministries this is their website agapefororphans org

  • @medperson1 I hope your brother drives a nice big american car)))

  • @kplns what?

  • I would love to adopt a child like one of those ones in the video.

It would help me be a mother and remain pure.

    Adoption is divine.

Those cribs look the jail bars.

I don't like the idea of state-run anything anymore, especially orphanages. I wish the adoption process was easier and quicker. These children need families now.

  • they are there like in jail!i was in orphanage twice with my friends and we were bawling sooo much..where i was..there were kids till 4 years old...and when i came to room they were yelling all "yeah mommy!!!"i was crying sooo hard!!!i could not forget that moment!!!!and when we were leaving they were crying soo much!

  • @Krrrrristtt the hardest part is when they wrap their arms around you and looking you dead in the eye ask "Mama when are you taking me home?" what do you say to that?

  • 3W UCRANIAONLINE POINT COM

  • i accidentally deleted the last comment by atlalala. it said:

Let's focus on agreeing we all want to help the children and not on our disagreements. We've all probably heard of Maslow's idea of a hierarchy of needs... their physiological and safety needs need to met and fully satisfied long before any idea of religion can fully take hold.

  • here's my reply:

i agree w/ what you said. The Bible (james 2:15-16) says, if a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, & one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?

In other words, it is important to care for the basic needs first, much like maslow said. i also believe that christ has the ability to change lives, which is why i am motivated to care for these kids & those like them.

  • thaz so sad! god bless you for showing this.

  • thank you for posting this God Bless

  • Why do people feel the need to help others in the name of God [or any higher being to be "pc"] or a religion? Why can't people help others because they want to? Ukraine has its own culture, traditions and religions. Why do you think it is appropriate to help them and force your religion upon them? Why can't people just help orphans because you care?

  • Why can't you be happy that some people actually care? These kids rather be helped by people who believe in G-D than be passed on by someone who claims to be tolerable but instead loudly protest people's personal choice of conviction for helping others! Stop being a hippo and be part of the solution and not part of the problem.............BTW Ukraine have a strong christian heritage!

  • I understand with what you are saying, but do not agree with your reasoning.

    1. I am very happy that people care about these orphans.

    2. How do you know that they rather be helped by someone that believes in "G-D"? While you help them, you should show them multiple perspectives, and it obvious from multiple organizations that people believe by indoctrinating religion - it will make them happier. That is NOT true. There are plenty of happy people that are not religious and never will be.

  • 3. I am not a "hippo." I am not part of the problem, I choose to help people because I WANT to, not because someone else told me, some book told me or because my parents told me. You should re-evaulate why you help them and maybe you'll see the true gift of helping others.

  • True christianity isn't about helping to gain, but to help without expecting in return. I'm sure that you learned good things from your parents, granparents who were all influenced by religion! unless your from a lost tribe in africa, amazon or papa new guinea! you cannot denied your past, heritage in what formed you today. Did you that today's western civilization was greatly influenced by Judeo-Christianity? even if you hate it, you were formed by it! You like many others live in self-denial

  • Yes, American society is influenced by religion (ex. saying "Bless you," the definition of marriage), but I am not from a "lost tribe," but rather a human being that is not very religious.Once again, I think helping orphans is a great thing, I just wish people did it "just because"-without an agenda, college apps looming, religion, "because everyone is doing it."But still, I commend their actions.

  • He cared for the people who were not cared for. He cared for the tax collectors, the prostitutes, the sick, and the lame. I didn't go there to convert people. I go to care for these kids in the name of Christ because that's what he calls us to do. Thank you for watching it and talking about it.

  • I am excited to see how much dialogue this video has started. It is true that Christianity won't necessarily make you happy. Jesus himself was poor, homeless at times, and ultimately died on a cross. Not my idea of a happy life. However, being a follower of Jesus (a Christian) means loving and serving others. That's why I went to Ukraine. To love kids that were otherwise unloved. To hold kids that were not being held because Jesus would have. Continued in next post...

  • You have the right to disagree, part of human freedom, second I'm not religious.

    1. Good to see that.

2.Desperate kids want something better than nothing, human tendency. Everybody does choose their personal convictions, the subject here isn't about indoctrination, is about adopting these poor souls that were dumped by their own people, religion and heritage. These "christians aren't part of the problem, but part of the solution, as imperfect as they may be..............

  • We are moral creatures. We have the sense to know good and evil. God standard is perfect love. We can't love like God, but we can do our best. Knowing God and having a relationship with Him is awesome. Before that, I never knew what divine love was. But know I do.

  • These kids should be at home with mum & dad. I'm a dad of six, three with disabilities. They try me to limits you couldn't have a chance of understanding but with me they should be!

  • Eye opening...factual...moving...brought me to tears...questions humanity...heartbreaking images...unforgettable cries...brilliantly made...makes the fortuante ones like myself

hug their children closer to their heart appreciating every breath, every smile, every giggle...every single moment of their beautiful life.

  • i feel so sorry for these children. i don't understand why most people just go to africa to go help the orphans!!! they're all over the world!

  • There are actually some very good hearted christians out there, but there are also some retards that make good christians look bad.

  • I am from Romania and there are soo many orphans there too! Why has the world forgotten about countries like these? The government doesnt care. Lets pray for these children. I hope that one day every country will take care of their children.

  • These children seem well stimulated. Why are there no toys in their cribs? We throw away used toys to fill landfills... why can't they go here?

  • I have been going to the home in Nagydobronysince 1999,I leave March 30 2008 for my 10th trip this is a beautiful video.

    Blessings of Joy...MartaNiNi

  • what song called?

  • the first song is called "tears of the saints" by leeland and the second song is called "shadow proves the sunshine" by switchfoot.

  • where is this orphanage????what city?

  • The last part of this movie is filmed in an orphanhome for girls in Nagydobrony (Ukrian)

  • do you know how much money cost to adopt baby?

  • Not sure about exact costs. However, first adoption priority goes to Ukrainian families. I would imagine (based off what I know about adoption costs from other countries) the cost would be $20,000-$30,000 USD.

  • were goin 2 ukraine in april 2 do volenteer work in orthanages gonna be so upsettin

  • :(...

  • sweet kids, sweet music, sweet video.

you might want to check out open arms ministry, they're gonna need a lot of help helping their friends in ukraine

  • ...like in Romania, in Rusia....A shame for the country.

  • that is why the countries try to hide these children by building most of the orphanages in oppressed villages that are far from public view. there are over 100,000 orphans in Ukraine alone!

  • That's not true...they don't "build them" in oppressed villages far from public view for any reason other than people living in remote areas often struggle the most...and often are forced to give up or lose their children due to..many kids... little work and money. The orphanages are often in the midst of standard neighborhoods..on the same plot of land as local apartment buildings! There are also orphanages in Kiev which is the heart of the city big.

  • It is true, there are 25 counties in Ukraine with an average of 30 orphanages in each county only about 3-6 of them are in the city & a few in the suburbs. yes you're correct there are some children in the orphanages that are there because their parents could not take care of them but the majority of the children are there because their parents are either dead, lost their parental rights or abandoned them. the majority of the abandoned children come from the city or the suburbs not the villages.
