To all the Europeans who think we don't have curves in America your stupid and just go by what you hear on top gear we have plenty of curvy roads, we just don't need all the over engineering to get around them because we know how to drive.
i love britain they are good people but americans (me) are not idiots look at our most successful people who could make you brits disappear in a press of a button
@GTVAlfaMan On Top Gear Jeremy jokes a lot about things like American incompetence. I'm sure he really does like America. He probably makes fun of the USA on Top Gear so much to show his national pride in Britain.
@BobbieandSteveDooley Lots of people ruined Detroit ... stupid executives, lazy labor, ignorant whites, ignorant blacks, clueless local government, trade policy makers, price-dumping Japanese, and on and on. Not all in those groups matched those descriptions, but certainly enough did that when you put them all together it was a perfect storm of failure.
@BobbieandSteveDooley well maybe if you didnt treat the "niggers" like it was 1801 they wouldnt have rioted...what were you saying about them "oh the niggers live like animals"
The problem with making more power out of a Chevy smallblock is that its not very efficient horse power, GM/Ford should have switched to making DOHC multi valve engines, fully independed suspensions depending on the vehicle application, limited slip differentials, etc over 20 years ago
Its very interesting how racists played a part in stabbing (or backstabbing) the hearbeat of america. Then again most cars now are made in mexico and canada
evidance. For the Capacity of the Japanese engines and price of the car in it's entirity they have the yanks licked, its easier to get silly power gains from Nissan's RB26DETT engine and from Toyota's 3S GTE engine, they are in general Better than any Dodge Hemi or GM LS1 engines. They handle the power better e.g a Nismo Tuned SKyline produces 1000 BHP and handles no different from the 260 the GT-R comes standard with. Plus the Jap imports are far more reliable
There excists american V8's putting out several thousand horsepowers kid. Far more than any ricer engine can hope to put out in their dreams.
And what does reliability have to do with racing? American cars, like most other cars tend to hold together for as least as long as an average race or 1/4 mile lasts. Which is plenty of time to crush the ricers into dust.
@VikingAmcar any american car will not beat a Japanese car around a track or through a windy road. i see the appeal of the muscle cars but on a nice windy mountain pass or something, a Mustang is not going to be as fun as an Evo lancer. also, megaman is right, a standard japanese engine will put out more horsepower per cc/ci than an american engine when standard and they are easier and cheaper to get power out of them.
Wouldn't say that. I'd rather take the new Mustang GT, with the track package and the new 412 HP V8 on a spin on some of our mountain roads, hanging the ass out and letting the engine roar.
And another thing. Why is it a goal to have a high HP/CC rating? I'm more interested in how much horsepower the motor put out in comparison to how much it costs, how much it weights, and how small it is.
Darn Youtube and their word count, I will continue in the next reply.
Actually, the 7.0 litre Z06 engine weights around 5 pounds more than the V8 in the new M3, and it puts out a lot more grunt, is cheaper and much, much easier both to work on and get more power out of. Pushrods may seem oldfashioned, but they do have a lot of advantages.
And, I'm fairly sure I can get A LOT more power out of an Chevy smallblock than someone out of a tuner engine for the same amount of cash. It's ridiculously easy to get a lot of horses out of them.
@VikingAmcar and with the power, again referring to the Skyline engine someone previously mentioned, the Turbo, exhaust, intercooler, induction system, all you don't have to take the engine apart for so i guess its also an easier job too. anyway all in all i'd trade the handling and feel of the old M3, the power of a viper ect. for an Alfa Romeo 8C Spider, because in my opinion, thats the best looking car ever. and it all comes down to personal choice doesn't it
It indeed is. As long as one's happy with what you drive, then all is good.
And the Competitzione is indeed a real stunner. Alfa Romeo have such an enourmeus potential, if they would drop the FWD nonesense, and make cars that handle as good as they look, they would eat much of the market of BMW, among many else.
But, you were at least kind when presenting your opinions, and that is something we don't have to much of on Youtube. I respect all car enthusiast, as long as they respect me and my passion. The Evo which you mentioned I actually fancy a bit.
@VikingAmcar haha yeah everyone seems a lil over the top usually.
i think we have different mountain passes in mind, look at videos of where Ferrari test their cars and some other European roads. even down here far away from the rest of the world *yeah, Australia hasn't quite drifted off the map yet haha* there are lots of thin, winding roads that you'd have to have balls the size of the earth to drive sideways down. its on those roads you would really see and prefer an Evo or E46 M3 on
Hehe, I'm Norwegian. We have NOTHING BUT mountain passes here.
And naturally, one can't compare the handling of an old late 60's muscle car with something a lot newer. But, they aren't as hopeless to get to corner once one get to work on them. There excist aftermarket, completely bolt-on suspension which will get an F-body (First gen Firebird and Camaro) to achieve up to 1.08 lateral G, and that's a lot. I've even seen a heavy Chevelle outhandle a Corvette C6 in an autoslalom.
To all the Europeans who think we don't have curves in America your stupid and just go by what you hear on top gear we have plenty of curvy roads, we just don't need all the over engineering to get around them because we know how to drive.
