Yes....he is the classical god today!!!!! dont even reply to this comment saying otherwise...There is none better who is alive....now shut the hell up and listen...hehehehehe!!!!!
@poupee58 I understand that you're extremely jealous of Pepe, but you don't need to hate. You should just appreciate the music. It's probably better than anything you or I will ever play.
Pepe without a doubt is my favorite guitarist, not only because of his classic guitar technique, but also because he has great command of the flamenco technique, something most classical music guitar masters lack. I also love his interpretations. Perhaps it is his versatility that attracts me the most. I watch his videos constantly to see what I can learn.
This piece is fantastic. I once saw a documentary of the Romero family. His father was something else. Great history, great tradition!
@raulpostal Como te han dicho por ahí. Si es tambora. Pizzicato se hace apagando el sonido con la mano o pisando en el traste (encima del metal) o pizzicato a la Bartok pellizcando las cuerdas y tirando hacia arriba.

Very beautifully written piece, and extremely hard to play. I had the pleasure of meeting The Romeros last week, and Pepe in particular is just about the kindest most educated musician that anyone could ever meet
He chowbird - 2 chords eh? well it is modeled on flamenco for one and secondly - I bet you could not play this tune - or even come close to playing it with the quality, speed, clarity etc etc
thats a pice for people that dont know about music, i mean, 2 chords (A, D) cmon where is the creativity, its perfect for an encore but its too boring
The fact that there is only two chords should pay omage to Celedonios writing. Remember that it is a clasical guitar cuban dance. The number of chords does not reflect the quality of the music. It merely shows the amount of creativity and freedom and simplicity that music can be. there does not have to be 32nd note harmonized riffs and double bass with scremers to create music. in fact that stuff is mostly heartless.
Pepe is so tight that I sit there waiting for him to screw up. A dead note. A wrong note. A rough rhythm transition. This is obscenely competent. Things don't need to be perfect to be beautiful. This is perfect, and beautiful. Even the chaotic raking s wicked. CLASSICAL TAPPING FTW!!
I knew a guy once who had a copy of C. Romero's Suite Andaluz (where the fantasia is from), but all of my searches recently have shown the piece to be out of print.

whats the name of the technique he uses at he end of the song just before he does the tapping?
He kind of bangs on the guitar using his thumb or palm of the hand.

tambora
mooniethecat 3 years ago
thanks for the reply, yes, tambora it gives an interesting, percussive hollow sound.I noticed it's utilised in Tarrega's gran jota aswell.
blinddog99 3 years ago
The Jota is very challenging. I just started working on it and noticed it takes a lot of stamina to get thru just a few of the variations.
Bronsonsandmypiece 3 years ago
no es tambora , tambora es cuando golpea la guitarra con la mano,, eso es piusicatto,, creo que se escribe así.
raulpostal 3 years ago
Correcta tu apreciación.
Pizzicato es cuando se toca pellizcando las cuerdas con la yema de los dedos.
Percutir es cuando golpea la guitarra con la parte interna de la mano.
