considering this only showed not even half of a 6 minute test, I thought she did well...Good for you Beth and AOS, outstanding job, outstanding product and outstanding instructors..Keep up the good work...Not everyone can be perfect in their form like certain people above...again great job!
She looks good, great work and all that, but some of her snatches don't look to great. I would say to use more of circular movement around her had instead of flipping it over the top and bouncing on her little wristband. But in the end, using KB's is what its all about.
She has good form in her getups except wrist position but everything else is poor form. I have a hard time believing that whoever she trained with is a ceetified kettlebell instructor under one of the three good orgs such as RKC, IKFF, AKC
How disappointing for a fan of kettlebells to belittle someone who has reached such an achievement as Beth has done, when she is certainly doing more than most to show kettlebells in a positive light. Beth is a serious student who has reached the standards of Art of Strength (AOS), which you tellingly do not mention. Most who have compared it to the groups you are plugging have found AOS to be the more rigorous and effective.
I am just stating my opinion. Her swings weren't right under either style. The cleans were mediocre at best. Rack position was awful. Snatches were mediocre at best. I'm not saying she hasn't worked hard. I'm sure she has. I am critcizing her instructors. Also, there is no way anyone associated with kettlebells could call this any sort of test and absolutely not a passing one. She needs a real instructor. That is crap.
Your interest in kettlebells is wonderful, but you would do well to be a little less cocksure of what you know and to consider learning a more sophisticated approach.
In the tutorials to The Kettlebell Way, Beth Chamberlain's dvd with Anthony from Art of Strength, she explains several variations she does from the way Anthony teaches it, and he said the variations are fine. You can modify moves to achieve specific results. Her reasons seemed to be based on her dancing background.
Wonderful Video. Goes to show you KBs won't make the ladies all bulky, but keep you fit, lean and mean. How many reps for each movement? (example 1 TGU, 2 high pulls, 3 snatches, etc) Just wondering because I'd like to take the test. :D
this is just plain wrong.

you should go over your had, but you are right it should not hurt or bounce off the back of your hand

It's 30 seconds of each exercise. The total time of the test is about 6 and half minutes.
