  • A380 can flay at a speed of 1083km/h u know?(Mach0.96) Almost the speed of sound. Definately faster than most passenger jets

  • what is all the fuss is about with this A380? just another jumbo jet imo. its not flying faster, higher or further than any other passenger plane or breaking new ground with cutting edge technology. when did you last heard some1 rave about a ol tanker? big isn't always better. on the other hand Concorde is by far a more impressive plane. it achieve something that deem not possible at its time.

  • a machine is a michine, doesnt matter much who makes it, japanese can make things the same way and with the same materials as germans. It's jsut that japanese have determines that people want affordable cars, while german auto manufacturers who dont have the option of cheap labor, tend to promote the image of german cars being superior because they are expensive. anyways, the a380 is pretty damn sexy. I'll get one after my gulfstream 550.

  • I'm not German, but everyone in the world knows that German engineers are famour for the quality they deliver. A good example is the car business, where German brands are known for their quality and American brands are known for being crappy.

  • German cars are not known for having outstanding quality. Its the Japanese that top that catagory, mainly Toyota. And the Airbus 380 is no different, it was plagued with production problems and caused Airbus to lose more money than ever before in 2006.

  • Well I'm sorry to say that, as a passenger, you don't pick out the plane you want to fly with. The airlines do that for you...And since Europe has a large amount of airlines (and American airlines are bankrupt or almost bankrupt), they will prefer Airbus over Boeing. The airlines from the Middle East have also a preference for European products.

  • Personally, i'd rather fly with the upcoming Boeing 787 Dreamliner. I am not a fan of Airbus, and not a fan of A380 either. I still think Boeing is the best in the aircraft manuf. industry; Boeing 777 being the best aircraft so far.

  • You should search a little more before speaking and in this case you will be aware that A350 is no more a concept but a plane which will come on the market in 2012 and millions of compagnies have already ordered it, maybe in europe we are a little bit more aware, it would be probably normal, but the Airbus A350 arrives on the airlines companies soonly (especially on Air France)

  • Actually it's not French. The Engines are Rolls Royce (British) the wings were built by BAe (British) And the rest of it was built in Spain, Germany and then ASSEMBLED in France.

  • Actually, all the parts of the nose of the plane are French except the air conditioning which comes from the USA and the cap which is made in Belgium. Some parts of the fuselage, like the wing spar box (where the British wings are connected) are fully made in France. Even the avionics are made by Thales.

  • Added to that, the engines are not systematically British since the Trent 900 (US engines) are available too. Like in the automotive industry, an aircraft manufacturer is nothing without its subcontractors which are, in the case of the A380, from all over the world : Japan, USA, Switzerland and above all from France (Thales, Safran, and many EADS subsidiaries)...

  • All in all this plane is not French, British or even European, it's above all a worldwide aircraft. I doubt no Brazilian or Indian engineer has been involved into the project. (No doubt there are more German engineers involved, tho. :D)
