you are lucky comparing to my son's case, here in Sadui Arabia we do not have Association take of Spina Bifida, my son encounters difficulty, as he is now 12 year old, he just goes to school, nothing else because such people doesn't not have support form the authority, I am very saad and disappointed..

They didn't have a cure when I was born in 1976. I can walk without any help. I used yo ware leg braces. But I do need help with some stuff because my left hand doesn't work do to a spinal fluid infection. When i hold stuff in the hand that doesn't work it won't let go of it. So, I have to pull it out of my hand LOL.

it could be prevented if mothers to be take a pill form of folic acid. it may not be 100% effective but it could reduce the chances.

it sucks having spina bifida i myself am a 22 year old male with spina bifida. i dont know if everybody knows this but spina bifida researchers had found out that fathers that served over in vietnam were sprayed with a bug killer called agent orange

Agent Orange was a defoliant (plant killer) Kids in Vietnam are born with birth defects thanks to agent orange. I have not heard or read anything linking agent orange and spina bifida.

my friend had spina bifida, she died just yesterday and she was almost fourteen. she had to be rushed by helicopter to sick kids hospital in toronto and put on life support, even though by that time she was clinically dead already.:( she had other things wrong with her too and she was found unconscious the night before last night and they still don't know exactly what happened.

Yeah i have it too. Im normal. Im just like everyone else.

Im lucky too i geuss. Im really good at gymnastics and i blame it on that. Im like SUPER good though
