Great video!!! Now to get enough ppl involved in saving the area from the" McMansions for the Ultra Rich" in the development thats planned, so that this video doesn't become a video of what once was!
Amazing. How are you catching this? What kind of equipment? Do they have motion sensors or are you catching several days at a time? Do you have more than 1 camera out at a time?
I continue to be amazed at the different animals I capture on camera in the Teanaway. Although the images for this video were captured early in my efforts, they still remain some of my favorites.
Remote activated cameras (see "more info" above right) begin taking images after sensing both heat and motion unless you program them to take images at set intervals. The images for this video were captured over the course of several months using about 3 different cameras.
Thank you. There are a few influential people interested in your video asking for the details. One of them use to own & operate High Country Packers in the Teanaway. He later sold to my mom who changed the name to High Country Outfitters. Meg, who you know, is my sister.
We both use to ride up there all summer and the hunting season in the snow. I saw all these animals from the back of a horse. Sometimes we saw up to 60 head of elk at a time. I use to "boony stomp" bareback on the elk trails.
Everyone who is watches this video, please know the Teanaway is in danger of having 56,000 under development! Please look on FB, under Friends of the Teanaway, & check out how best to get involved and say NO to McDevelopment in one of WA's most beautiful areas!
Some scent is used but the diversity is due to the fact that the Teanaway has fantastic habitat for many different types of animals. I actually had no idea how amazing the variety was until I started capturing it with these cameras.
I have to say I am jealous. I am a fellow Washington resident and I love to see such great wildlife footage from our great state. Just hope it doesn't bring a bunch of guys to your area and bump your animals out. Good luck hunting.
Moultrie Gamespy I-60 (fluid motion videos and still shots) and Reconyx RC55 (more stilted motion videos). Both use "infrared" (in quotes because they are not true infrared) light at night to illuminate subjects, that is why the night shots are black and white. The Moultrie gives beautiful images but triggers slowly. The Reconyx gives great images and triggers extremely fast - but costs twice as much.
What a wonderful video. I have a place in the Teanaway and spend a lot of time there. I was suprised at the mountain goats. I have seen them on Davis Peak but never in the Teanaway.
Near Cle Elum. About 5-10 miles east as the crow flies. Many of the cougars in that area have been collared as part of a study, but I'm not picking the collared ones up on the cameras so there may be more than the researchers realized.
do you elk hunt because there were some huge elk in this vid... also maybe go turkey hunting sometime i live in northern MN so i only deer and partridge hunt im thining about taking a trip to SD for a little bird action
Thanks for the great feedback. These cameras need heat AND motion to be activated. Most of these images were taken at or near my remote, off-grid cabin. I wanted to see what was out there and have been amazed at all of the creatures I have captured.
damn so much wildlife

@mysoccerftw Is this a study you are referencing, or simply stating what your parents have told you for years... time to do some reading...

Great footage. Just curious if you're scenting the area, or how you attribute such wildlife diversity to this small area?

What type of scent are you using to capture such a variety of species?

Type and brand, please.
