If youve ever actually bought fuse before (which you have to cuz u cnt buy these cuz theyre illegal and have to be homemade) you would know that most fuse that is sold is waterproof.. I live in ca were fireworks r not liked and im 13 and i even kno this.. It doesnt have anything to do with the "gunpowder" when it is reAlly nitrocellulose lacquer

Put the Cracker on the ground and set an empty can over the top of it. I've shot them up 20-30 feet high in the past. You can get about 3 launches before the can busts apart.

The fuse stayed lit because there is gunpowder or black powder in it, so if it starts burning it most likely won't be put out by the water. Buy some regular black cat firecrackers and see.

water is an incompressible fluid. it will not absorb energy, it only transmits energy. so essentially, in water the shock wave of a cherry bomb is MUCH more effective, because there is nothing cushioning the target from the blast. if it was air in the can, there would likely have only been a small hole in the bottom. But that energy spread over the entire can, is enough to lift it. same reason farely small smart bombs can destroy entire bunkers in Iraq, the ground moves the blast wave.
