When she mentioned how John McCain stood up and denounced torture, it really made me wonder how he could have changed so much by the time the 2010 election came around. I'm very disappointed with how he has evolved. I really would have voted for him in 2010 if he was still the maverick and the moderate he used to be.
Yes but they can't do that to a little yellow China man or a scrawny little India babu can they -wanna guess why! How far would they have really got with this! Not just cruel but really really stupid! Hang the cowards! Thank you great Interview

After 30 minutes of discussion Jane Mayer begins to coalesce her arguments into a meaningful perspective but then she realizes the broader implications of that perspective and resorts back to her partizan posture. Americans are not above the mistreatment of prisoners in war even when those prisoners are americans themselves (ie) the Civil War. The Union Army's, Camp Elmira, allowed for the deaths of thousands of confederate prisoners by starvation and mistreatment.

Jane Mayer states that preemptive policy is in the territory of thought crime, al la carte "Orwellian Dystopia". what exactly is her alternative ? to allow terrorists to first commit their mass murder crimes before justice can be served ? does she really think that this serves justice ? does she not know that conspiracy to commit a crime is a prosecutable offence ? It seems that Jane Mayer suffers from considerable delirium from the reality that conservatives, when in office, exercise a policy.

Jane Meyer is confused. Mandate for change is not the regan era book of conservative ideas. The book in question is "Mandate For Leadership".... However "Mandate For Change" is a liberal agenda book. It apperas that they are making a fruedian slip. they are decrying that conservatives have an agenda while reading the liberal one... what a couple of partizan puke bags...
Google Law Dean Velvel and view his conference on how to bring the Cheney/Bush neo con criminals to justice! Practical and fascinating!
Bravo, to Jane Meyer! A true American hero who dared to defend the Constitution even during the de facto Dick Cheney dictatorship which trashed the Constitution for the past 8 years.
All Americans should watch this to hear the depths that the Bush administration sank. Hopefully it will show the international community that not all in power in the Bush administration and government are creeps. I commend those who worked against Chaney and Addington and their paranoid "war on terror". I urge the legal community to investigate and bring to justice those who condoned and ordered torture and renditions.
