I can't believe American stupidity cost Filipinos a million lives. Aguinaldo was a terrorist??? Tagalogs were a tribe??? He got a PhD???!! The hell... Why do these Yanks think all countries are like Iraq or Afghanistan??
only the americans called it an insurrection. Insurrection means rebellion or mutiny from an authority you vowed loyalty to. Never did the Filipinos pledge allegiance to the empire building americans. The american media now call the Iraqi Freedom fighters as insurgents, did they pledge allegiance to the americans for them to be called mutineers or insurgents?
This funny first of this show the lack of understanding of the American since 19th century up to now man its more than joke than insult Aguinaldo a terrorist hahahaha
Philippines credited the americans by spreading education, literature, and chocolates to the philippines. And yet the americans never learned anything from what they got by fighting the philippine insurgencies and filipino muslims in mindanao. All they got was a mutiny by some black african-american Buffalo soldiers who sided with filipino freedom fighter, and thousands dead US cavalrymen and marines. Oh plus they stole 2 huge church bells from a local town and claiming it as a war trophies.
@JurishzteR Given that he ordered the killing of Andres Bonifacio and his brother, it is not unlikely. Also, he was a Japanese collaborator(Filipinos might be surprised about this, but it is a fact that Filipino historians) There's much more to what Philippine History books write. Of course, like any other nation, the Philippines revisions history.
Did you know that Carlos P Romula called the Igorots not Filipinos? Likely not. His image is that of a nobel prize winner.
@JurishzteR Scarily, McKinley's Tagalog imperialism become a reality. Tagalog as the national language and the ONLY native language taught in schools, only Tagalog literature taught in school, the Tagalogs thinking they are the epitome of Filipino culture. Tagalogs laughing at the accents of non-Tagalogs and branding them as hillbillies. Scary prediction.
Both if these PhD's have obviously read a lot of text books and written a lot of papers. Neither of them seems to have any idea of the framework for what they are talking about. Zero understanding of Asia and Asian people. Zero understanding and perspective outside of the frame of the American empire.
Danz: If you actually listened, the comment about Aguinaldo being a terrorist concerned the opinions of people from 100+ years ago. Besides, the Filipinos had begun fighting the Spanish not even 10 years before the U.S. arrived. The U.S. brought Aguinaldo BACK to the Philippines after he left in exchange for some money and promises from the Spanish (who broke most of their promises). Learn the history.
