oh gosh this bring backs memories of when i say in my choir 7-8 years ok in music festivals to this whilst doing sign language to the words :) it is a beatiful song :) x
were singing this in our concert on saturday, been an old choir clasic for years, but we've recently had a teacher in to tell us the correct sign language and it's different to yours, 'can' is compeltely different 'feel' + 'too' ?
We're going to sing this song at the Festival. We sound very good! I'm very excited, I try my best singing these three songs' because I want our choir to get a Superior grade.
Can You Hear Me? (By Bob Chilcott) I look around me as I grow I'd like to tell you all I know I see life with all its energy The city streets, the rush time This is my world, it's where I like to be So much to see, so much to find I sometimes sit and wait a while See the sun, it makes me smile Can you see it Can you see it too
This song brings back happy memories of when my daughter sang in a choir. They sang this song too, it makes me feel very emotional every time I hear it. Still sends a shiver down my spine. Lovely words and well sung.
This song brings back happy memories, the choir my daughter used to be in sang this song it makes me feel very emotional. It still sends a shiver down my spine, beautiful words, and well sung.
I have done this several time with the choir I am in and everytime we have reduced the choir to tears. Bob chilcotts CD, can you hear me was sung by our choir. The actions you do are wrong. When we did this for Bob Chilcott and the CD he said that the way we did it was exactly as he had imagined when he was writing the song!!
I go to a music school where it's required to have a decent singing voice :P Last year we sang this song for 900 people with our 200 students xD It was really beatiful tho
I'm currently learning this song in my all girls choir 7th grade. (: We're trying out for all region. This song has to be amazing, beautiful, and so captivating. I can't wait to sing it in front of a crowd.
Technically flawless - I love the blend in the voices, the forward resonant placement. Great work on the vocal technique!
The only thing missing is the emotional connection. I could set a metronome to this performance. There's hardly any rubato or word painting and it feels rushed. I think, had the choir slowed down and taken time performing this song, it would have made an emotional impact on the audience.
This is one of my favorite songs, so I'm ultra-critical of performances of it.
I'm singing this in my choir too! I really love to sing Bob Chilcott! This one, peacemass and catch a falling star! I wish that i could sing them all! ;]
Your'e probaly not going to believe me, but i just got out from a concert with him in charlotte. He conducted us and we did all of his songs like Peace Mass, Vertue, Catch a Falling Star, Time of Snow and this! He's really good!
Do you mean Charlotte NC? The Charlotte Children's Choir just did this song last Saturday. It is currently my favorite song. We have much to learn from this deaf child.
Wonderful sining, well felt legato line and wonderfulfully interpretated shape to the music. Also congratulations to the conductor on setting the youngsters up with such brilliant vowel sounds e.g Cahm you hear me? un -knowingly they will sing the same for a long time, good trainging well done :)
sooo wonderful, rele well felt with the legato line and melody, well interpretated, good instruction on the vowels, (cahm you hear me.....good staging for later singing in life :)) Marvellous!
