@somair6469 i completely understand what you are saying, my parents and grandparents depend on religion and it helps them live in comfort as they get older, but you have to understand that religious people also try to convert and impose their beliefs on atheists or anybody that doesnt believe in the same god that they do, i just dont want my children growing up and believing in talking snakes, virgin births, and resurrections you know, basically i want my children to use their COMMON SENSE!!!

@31rdman What you don't see along with other religious people is that every story that was written in the bible never actually happened. It's just a myths, those snakes and resurrections you speak about have universal symbolic meanings. They are taking to concretely by a majority of people and this is where you are mistaken.

@Somair6469 False comfort isn't comforting at all... unless one is living in willful ignorance. In other words, people who aren't smart enough to realize that they've been lied to are usually quite happy staying ignorant, uninformed and uneducated. It "feels" safer to them. I think that's why a lot of people have the attitude of "It's better that I don't know..."
