  • We should all get back to the way it use to be when the church was united because almost everyone used the KJV for many years. Then came along these modern versions and the church has been divided ever since which pleases satan im sure.

  • different scholars have different choice of words to express the same meaning, what these bible contain are not only a difference of translations but it is somthing more serious, it is adding and omitting. This questions the very authenticity of the bible.

  • One thing about it...you are saying what the bible say will come to pass. Peoples will talk as you talk.

God can open a person understanding up to receive this.

  • See...when it comes to the word of God...we can reason together. Nothing wrong with discussing the word of God. The bible say let everything be established by two or three witnesses. The bible don't teach easy believeism...just merely saying something just because some preacher tell you to say it. You have to Godly sorrow repent of your sins...get baptized in the name of Jesus...for the remission of our sins...and receive the Holy Ghost afterward. (Matt 16:16-18) (Acts 2:38)

  • haha, this guy says it pretty well...

    watch?v=ec-GRF-lyMA

  • Right on discountninjuh!

  • I've heard this "King James" version stuff before. About 7 years ago I was going to a church that believed the same thing. I did my studying on the subject, researching the Greek and other early languages the Bible was written in to find them all possibly flawed in many ways.

EXAMPLE: if you said "He was gay" 50 years ago it would mean that "He was happy". Obviously words change a lot over time.

  • You can't expect that someone in the 1600's had the proper knowledge and documentation to completely understand the early written script and translate it into the proper language of the time when it was written. Besides, most of the early manuscripts were transcribed word for word for centuries no matter how much those words had changed in meaning.

So to get the proper meaning you have to find the earliest works and try research the language of the time those were originally copied from.

  • Which means that you might be researching a manuscript that was written in 300 a.d. from a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy (etc...) but the original and exact word for word document was written in 70 a.d.

So you can see how the simple minded people of the 1600's wouldn't have had the resources necessary to properly translate most of these documents.

Besides, when is the last time you asked somebody to "come hither"?

On that note I must refer back to my first comment on this video.

  • Nope, u clearly do not understand.

You're not a layman, of course, but just ignorant about many things. Like say the Dead Sea scrolls. When compared with modern Hebrew Bibles, they are essentially the same (except in names of ppl). The Masoretic text's accuracy is also confirmed by earlier manuscripts (eg. Septuagint (c. 280 BC), Samaritan penteauch)

  • I know this to be mostly true...

  • You have no idea how they copied Bibles before the advent of Gutenburg's printing press. You don't realize the painstaking efforts to ensure correct copying they would have to endure to make just a copy of the original. You simply don't. sorry...

  • I don't know? My knowledge is of them copying them to the point so precise that not one letter was out of place, one line was copied exactly to the next word for word, not one punctuation mark was out of place, and even more strict constituents than mentioned (all of this being done by hand of course). If you believe this to be incorrect please let me know.

The problem arises however when the texts were translated into other languages and also to the modern tongue of the times...

  • I think you're misunderstanding me somewhere...

  • Mine can be backed up with scriptures. What man says doesn't mean anything if it cannot be backed up with scriptures. Man can think whatsoever he pleases...but it cannot be substantiated without the word of God. (Matt 18:16) (2 Corinthians 13:1)

  • I'll reply this to you and cp3814...you have to take God word for what it is. That's under-minding God's word. He is the beginning and the ending. God knew how the bible was going to be translated. (2 Timothy 3:16) God knew before the earth was made how it was going to be. That is why Jesus gave signs for true believers. Don't get me wrong...before I was Holy Ghost filled...I made comments like these....but when He filled me w/ His Spirit..I am a believer.

  • God knew what was going to transpire before He made the Heavens. God Holy Ghost caused this to be done exactly down to the nitty gritty. He is God and when God speak it...It is done. Not like man trying to translate this. ( 2 Peter 1:20-21)

  • No, u haven't REALLY heard about this "KJV" stuff before, or else you wouldn't respond with layman arguments.

  • All Bible versions are corrupt! They all use brainwashing and fear tactics to scare people into submission so they can easily be controlled and manipulated by the church. The Bible is nothing more than a history book mixed with mythology and fairy-tales. You might as well join The Church of The Lord of The Rings Series and worship our wonderful lord and savior Frodo if you believe the primitive thinking and concepts written in ALL versions of the Bible. I once was blind but now I see!!!

  • Well, that's your opinion. On the contrary there are scientific, historical, and prophetic evidences that support the Bible's claim of being God's Word.

  • Scientific? Prophetic? I don't think there is much you have to stand on there... However there is some historical value I must agree.

I guess all I have is to ask you for your proof on the scientific and prophetic....

  • The devil will Love someone believing this what you are speaking. Let me tell you something..God will let you know its real if you ask/and hunger and thirst after what it right.

  • you believe what you train your mind to believe...

  • I agree with that to a certain degree. Only thing about it...God can not only change one's mind...but the Heart.

If you want to have doubts about something...worry about the peoples continue trying to change the words in the bible. See I am not going off of the "mere bible" I have had a heart change. God filled me with His Spirit. He gave me a total outlook on life. He took cussing from my tongue. He opened my eyes Spiritually. He delivered me from going to a devil hell.

  • I'm sorry but I believe your thinking is an evil delusion people are "tricked" into believing my friend...

I will continue to ponder the subjects we've talked about until next time...

  • All we have is the word of God. When one try and undermine the word of God...One is in the devils playing field. Satan want peoples to think there is controversy with the word. It one is going to believe some of the word...you have to believe all of it..if not...it is of none effect. Man...including myself can believe anything...but it has to be substantiated by the word of God. Nothing else count...it becomes one opinion.

  • correction: If one is going to believe

  • Do Not forget the Holy Spirit, which has written the truth on our hearts by Gods authority and Our love for him. We can KNOW right from wrong if we seek the spirits counsel. The spirit is open to teach us as long as we know the basics of truth by the word and experience and adhere to them.

The rest is the spirits and our job is to seek it above the flesh!!!!

  • Scriptual interpretation and translations can be difficult at times. Add in Mans "opinions" and its gets clouded. If one knows basic truths and honestly seeks these truths the Spirit will enlighten us.

The Holy Spirit Even enlightens us BEYOND what the word can provide us...it is BEYOND WORDS!!!!

  • Mr JesusL.E.O.,

I have to extend the B.S. flag here... The reason is that if the spirit is one, why are there so many different beliefs by so many denominations? Each of them claim that they are from the holy spirit. Well, how does the spirit tell a bunch of people one thing and then tell a bunch of people the complete opposite? You'll say that one or the other is wrong, or not of god and they'll say the same of you. This shows me that you're all delusional on the subject of god.

  • How can one claim another is delusional on the subject of God and using the B.S. word. What merit do you have?

The reason there are so many beliefs...peoples are teaching the apostles doctrines. The church was built on the apostles and the prophets...Jesus being the chief corner stone. (Ephesians 2:20) Paul makes it clear that anybody teaching something different than that they taught...consider them accursed (Galatians 1:8-9) What did Paul teach/preach? (Acts 19:1-7)

  • Peoples are not teaching

  • Paul preached Godly sorrow repentance (2 Corinthians 7:10) Baptism in Jesus name, Being Filled w/ the Holy Ghost...with the evidence of speaking in tongues. This is the apostles doctrines. Like I said...one day I thought I was born again after I "merely repented" I knew God had heard my Godly sorrow repentance...but I did not receive the Holy Ghost during this time. I did not have the keeping power that the Holy Ghost gives.

  • you mean you hadn't quite been brainwashed enough to trick yourself into believing all this mumbo-jumbo was for real right?

  • "B.S. Flag" is a common term. We used it a lot in the Navy (thus the phrase "cuss like a sailor").

But most denominations truly believe they are preaching the right stuff and then they damn the others. Still though, my statement/question was all about the holy spirit supposedly giving mixed information to believers and not people getting the bible wrong...

  • I think the biggest controversy is how does one know for sure they have the Spirit. I once thought I had the Holy Spirit after I had Godly sorrow repented. Years down the road I realized I hadn't experience the baptism of the Spirit until I received it in 2005. If we have not been filled w/ the Spirit like the apostles were..then we should seek God for it...cause He has no respecter of persons.

  • Why is the Bible filled with so many cases of apparent solid evidence of gods existence and then all of the sudden, the curve drops off dead with the deaths of the original disciples? And then the bible explains conveniently (not in these exact words) that the people of the future (wicked generations) will seek a signs from heaven and none will be given to them.

What determines a wicked person? Are you wicked if you don't believe the bible is what it claims?

  • A wicked person is the sinners and ungodly. See some peoples will say all are "sinners" If one has been Godly sorrow repented and have been washed by baptism in the name of Jesus Christ...and have received the Holy Ghost...they are not classified as a sinner. The bible says we are under no condemnation. (Romans 8:1) Some scriptures to prove that there is a distinction between righteous peoples and sinners and ungodly. (1 Peter 4:18) (John 9:31) This scripture lets us know that God does

  • cont- not even hear a sinners prayer. So how can someone say that all are classified as a sinner. This mean God would not hear any prayers if this was the case. Don't get me wrong...we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) "We all have" Past tense. We should repent daily as Paul said. We should strive for perfection. We will come up short sometimes. The difference is are we sinning w/ the intent or not. God is not winking on sin anymore.

  • Those verses prove nothing. They simply state that if you don't believe what the people who wrote the bible believe you can't join the club.

I could write a book like that...

So the bible says that a saved person is saved no matter what but some one who spends their entire life doing good, loving and caring for people, and is truly amazed with live is going to rot in hell?

I think Jesus himself would throw the B.S. flag on that one.

Hey come join my club, "the Jesus club!" (or go to hell!!!).

  • Jxax, very good! but only partly true. Yes, scriptures and texts do have some allegory and yet even more history and are difficult to interpret. The fear part you see is whatever you make of it. (I think fear is over rated) But, The fear of God is not to be taken lightly. Take the good, leave the bad and live a good life like all the great books teach you. Peace Out! Mrjesus

  • p.s. Jxax, most everything man does apart from God is corrupt. Just look at the crazy world. Its a mess!!! The world proves it. Like the scriptures say "Apart from God we are nothing" We are lucky the writers got even most of it right and then the translators, then how it is taught... context etc. Just keep looking for truth and it will find us!!! do not give up! :) Mr jesus

  • MrJesus, I think I already know the truth... The truth is that life is what we make it and if god does exist we are already eternally connected. so why fret anymore? oh, i think I'M done...
