Well, as a matter of fact I Do have a congenital hearing loss but still, the bass is way too loud. It's hard to get good balance in a live taping. Got nothing against bass players I just like to hear the soloists get more of the audio that's all...
The current issue of Fretboard Journal has a great, heartfelt, well-researched remembrance of Jethro Burns. I've written a half-dozen pieces for the mag, so I'm obviously a supporter. The editors gave writer John Kruth a well deserved 14 pages for Jethro's story, and worth every bit of it. Great writing and some terrific photos.
Thanks so much for sharing this stuff, Don. What a wonderful time in your life that must have been. Jethro's mandolin was probably the first mandolin I ever heard, given my dad was a Homer and Jethro fan.
