OH MY GOD! THE MEMORIES! this is one of the tracks that influenced me the most, wow 19 years ago! hahah i make house music and dj it all over but i have to say these guys really influenced me with the energy they had in the music they made back then, defo the best album they did this one
This was recorded in braintree essex in the old cinema which became a club for a bit before the pigs got fucked off and now is a fucking WETHERSPOONS shit happens eh.
Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which is electronic music with songs inspired by great bands such as The Prodigy. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
@thapoint09 half right , half wrong. many of the clubs insist only on clothing and being noticed , and cheap radio music . the meaning of serious party is a bit gone .
Actually the First Person who was to Invent "Electronic Sound" NEVER got Recognition. Her name is Delia Derbyshire. And she had the Daunting Task of Creating a Haunting Electronic Theme for a new Brittish Sci-Fi TV Series WITHOUT SYNTHESIZERS.
Look up the Very First Electronic Album called "An Electric Storm" 1969 And be AMAZED!
Anyway, She Pulled through & STUNNED the entire World with the VERY First ALL Electronic Track & it Still sounds of the Future Even Today. You ALL know it. ALL of you
@hunter1980100 You don't know what you're talking about m8. Do some Research b4 you make assumptions like that. They were Very Famous for their Electronic Styled Tracks yes. but they wern't the First by a LONG shot. They used a Synthesizer called the EMS Synthi VC3 which was invented by Dr Peter Zinovieff. But the Techniques of Musique Concrete were FAR ahead of their time & way before Synthesizers were even availible. So to credit Pink Floyd with first Electronica is incorrect.
@therealKINDLE A lot of bands during the 70s began experimenting with digitally synthesized music, ELO, Yes, Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues, to name a few... but the first song to truly be recognized as "electronica" rather than simply "dance" or "disco" let alone "acid rock" or "fusion rock" is a tune by Donna Summers "I Feel Love" 1977 (used your post as a thread bounce only, not agreeing or disagreeing with your summary, cheers)
@jeffrojune1970 Yeh see this is where I differ with everyone else. I am not concerned with Styles, Catagories or Names of Music. I Listen to the Music & take notice of how it was made, who realised it, & give credit to that person weather they are famous, or an unsung hero. I think if you're a Musician, you get to a certain stage & then just stop acknowledging Styles. You create what you think sounds right. And returning to the point; It's what The Prodigy did.
It's not Kraftwerk who started electronica, there are other bands, like Perrey and Kingsley and White Noise. You should thank Delia Derbyshire for starting electronic music, and Ron Grainer to some extent, not Kraftwerk.
But the Prodigy made it GODLIKE, made it PERFECT!
by the way fuck america, it has given us NOTHING and i mean NOTHING throu out history, well nothing appart from wars and commertial bull shit anyway, they are killing the music culture off.
oh and by the way Techno is from a small place called Liverpool, which has spawned some of the biggest music movements, not from America so get your facts right.
@sfliddie - Except perhaps the entire dance music genre... Without the inspiration of Chicago in the mid 80's you wouldn't be listening to this or anything like it... We have to thanks the yanks for that...
The prodigy is a British group sporned of the english rave scene... nothing to with any yanks so stop trying to take credit for something you know nothing about!!!
first wtf does geography have to do with music you are all fucked just enjoy it who fucking cares where it comes from. prodigy is the best ever though
BTW, Techno and electronica originated in the US. If it weren't for Americans, there would be no Prodigy. Watch your dirty brit mouth. lol, fish n chips. =P
@TheHontoir We'd still kick your ass though. The fact that you differentiated Americans and British tells that we're totally different people. But we're better =P
@sAcRoSaNct17 I think the fact that Americans are the only nation that insist on them being better than everybody else indeed makes them worse. Notice that in no way have I said the opposite.
if it wasnt for the english america as a nation would not exist so shut the fuck up, america is just a shit load of ex europeans, ur ancestors came from here. dude ur country is fucked up, 90% of you are getting but raped by marketing. regardless of all that, just take a look at your governments past history and its quite clear that america is a fucking awful country, and most of its citizens are deliberately blinded to that fact. most just sit at home and focus on alpha waves all day long (TV).
@mitchlupo3l mate i was there, think it was 96. still got the ticket somewhere. tripping off my nut bouncing about like a headcase. happy fucking days. bring back purple arabics and double dip strawberries i say!!
@s4mth16ngstr24nge Ahh my young apprentice. N Joi, Ntrance, Rachel Wallce, Altern8, Rhythm Section, The Shamen, Bady D, Derrick May, Joey Beltram, Nookie, 808 State, Adamski, Shades Of Rhythm, the list is endless young man.
Yep, PROPER hardcore. Not that stupid fast as fuck happy shite. One day we will be sitting in our rocking chairs telling our grandkids "This is proper music, none of your singing and instruments rubbish".
nope, this is the live version everybody saying its just got 'live noises' on it... search for 'death of the prodigy dancers studio' if u wanna hear it!
no point asking about a studio version of this song becaue this is the studio version i know it sounds live but just incase you dont hear it. there is no cheering, whistling,or any noise by a crowed the song was released with an echo to give the impression that it is live.
This is the live version as stated on the back cover of the album, Experience. The studio version was apparently lost just before the album was about to come out so Liam Howlett used this instead. I have no proof of this being the reason I'm afraid but I can confirm that this is a recording from a live performance (with Maxim MC'ing).
1:58 to 2:23 there is a fat backing tune on this track and i have always wondered if it was used in another tune, and if so could any one please tell me what it is called cos it's great. Also to all you Prodigy fans respect and do you know there is a free tune on the Prodigy web site for download from their yet to be released Album in March called Invaders Must Die. Check it out. Long live The Prodigy.
That synth tune is just in this song, I havent heard it anywhere else. Your Love synth theme is a little bit similiar though but still not even close, you know? ;d And yes, Invaders Must Die is not close to these oldskool beats but still its quite badass.
Any old skool Prodigy will be similar to this. Early 90's UK 'OLD SKOOL' music is basically what this is, there are loads of tunes. I like ummm....Praga Khan - Injected With A Poison, thats pretty intense. Bizarre Inc - Playing With Knives is a classic. See what you reckon, if you like I'll recommend some more.
if thats not magika fukin another quality choon then i,ll be taken from behind . FUCK I HOPE IT IS HIM NOW IVE SAID THAT . But i didnt rate him him in the day fuckin shite
was the sample at the beginning of this used in another old skool tune, i seem to remember hearing it with female vocals, if so does anyone know the name of it?
quality tune, there's a non-live version of this on the official prodigy site, i was looking to get my hands on it for years but listening to it now, i can see why they put the live version on the album, the studio versions just seems like it's missing something, still one of my fav old prodigy tunes

THIS IS WHERE I KILL THE DANCER! WATCH THE MC KILL THE DANCER! DEATH OF THE PRODIGY DANCERS!
Maybe Keith is mimicking Maxim on songs like "Firestarter."

was the sample at the beginning of this used in another old skool tune, i seem to remember hearing it with female vocals, if so does anyone know the name of it?

quality tune, there's a non-live version of this on the official prodigy site, i was looking to get my hands on it for years but listening to it now, i can see why they put the live version on the album, the studio versions just seems like it's missing something, still one of my fav old prodigy tunes
