  • Dat was 86 mustang

  • @KeithWasHere1 yes I still have it

  • looks likes some POR15 was used on the front of the gas strut.

  • It is actually rubberized undercoat to seal the steel plate.

  • @CoolCarsHotGuitars ahhh i see..with the stipled texture it looks very similar to Por15..which is best? rubber coat or Por15..cause as they say rust never sleeps!

  • I have those but I will sell it 150$

  • @xxHappyMeal84xx still got them?

  • One question could you open and close the doors regular before you put the shocks on?

  • Yes

  • hey what lbs are those shocks rated? 120 or 220?

  • They are not marked but I am going to say 120.

  • @CoolCarsHotGuitars ok thanks and awesome job by the the way i wish mine looked that good the guy who welded mine did a shit job

  • i'm thinking about getting these for a 01 jeep Laredo is it necessary to do welding or could we drill holes ? i have no welding knowledge but have mechanical experience

i should really learn to weld though

  • Look at all the maufaturers and buy the ones that bolt right in for your vehicle. These were a set of universal hinges which are cheaper but take way more work. You should be able to get ones that are made for the Jeep.

  • @cochranand dude a few months at any vo-tech and you got your welding ticket..welders make good money! especially underwater welders.

  • thats gonna be one crazy mustang!lol

  • good job bro i got that same hinge i mite need your help what your number i live in phx az

  • Not sure how much I can help but I'll try. Look up carlambodoors com for help.

  • Thanks J! It's like any job, good planning, take your time, and be as exact as possible. It is pretty tedious because you get one shot to get it right. They are called Lamborghini hinges because they belong on a Lamborghini...not Escalade's and rice burners. But that's just me : ^ )

  • is it me or is the door not giving a lot of 'resitance'

when you open it it doesn't seem sturdy, is that because of a light airshock?

  • There are a couple of things going on. First, since the door is just a shell there is very little weight, that is why I only have 1 air spring on. With both on the door flies open. It is suppose to open by itself like a hatch or trunk. It does look less sturdy because it's not finished yet. I still have to weld in some supports. I just wanted to show the basic operation. The customer bought these cheaper ones. Higher quality ones are much better. Great observation... thanks J!
