  • We use a shipper that compares prices to find the least expensive shipper.

  • Can you ship it DHL when sending it to uk?

  • LOL at the guy who said the guard pass at 1:06 would never work, ha, I have passed black belts guard with this pass. The dummy looks very cool, but the music is horrible.

  • So in short good luck to i & i sports selling the bubba dummy because it seem they dont have the best dummy and in my experience they dont have the best service either they cant ship internationally so I offered that they could send it to my bongo international address they didnt even look at bongo site they just said that my address didnt pass the fraud screen, would have taken like 10 minutes or a call from them to bongo but they didnt now they have one less client. I`ll get a SMaster

  • but im kind of cool now that i found the submission master at the end of the day i chosen bubba first choice because apparently it could stand for throws but now im watching videos and thats not really the case and you have to attach belts etc to keep his limbs in place so i think the submission master is better on the ground and i will just get another dummy just for throws and thai clinch like those stiff heavy bags looking like kind of human shape lol

  • I made an order to get a bubba but after few weeks of waiting they said I cant get one because my order didnt pass the fraud screening as if I where a terrorist or something can you believe that crap?!!!!! lol

I felt i was trying to do something really bad wich is not the case just wanna practice my jiujitsu

  • Mine just came in today. Can't wait to get him broken in.

  • Finally got some money, and I'm gonna be placin my order for one tomorrow. So psyched!!!!

  • this music owns. what is it?

  • @dongsdongsdongs It's a jazz fusion band I played with back in the 80's called Cat's A Bear. Frank Singer is on guitar & my brother Joe Dorris on drums.

  • The best training dummy on the market hands down it's awesome!

  • This dummy MUST be good cause I couldn't even anybody wantin to sell one on eBay.

  • What is the heaviest grappling dummy I can buy?

  • Hi PrsFenderJackson1980,

Generally, you may want a heavy weight if you're using a throwing dummy (for conditioning purposes).

But, for a submission grappling dummy, you want a lighter weight to make it easier to move it between the positions you want to train. Because you're not throwing, a heavier weight adds on benefit and only makes it more difficult to work with.

The Adult model weighs approx. 75 pounds. We've found that to be the best weight for most people.

  • 1:06 would never work! ever!

  • Hi Rikaiden,

It's actually a common tactic. It is specific for using on an opponent who has long pants. When you control the legs with his knees (and your elbows) close together, the opponent can't kick and has limited motion.

What you do is push the legs to either side a couple times, so the opponent thinks you are going around his legs, then push them down and go over them.

I've used it dozens of times effectively against pretty good opponents. Try it out!

  • @Rikaiden that move does work specially on white belts

  • @Rikaiden I have used this technique and it worked very well!!!!!!

  • how heavy are these dummies? and can they be in a standing position? thanks

  • I have to agree with everyone. This looks great and I would love to get one but $500 is too much for me :-(

  • I'm gonna be starting MMA training in about a month, and this looks like it would be an awesome training aid, but for 500 bucks, I think I'd wanna try one before I decided to buy one.

  • so if i wanna practice ground fighting and learn it by practicing with a dummy incase i need a partner?

  • ya thats what i do...

  • i am making my own and it is still gonna cost me about $100. I can see the high quality of this product but I can't see the high cost. If this puppy was $100-maybe $200 I could see investing in it. a dummy is a great idea but man having the extra cash these days to buy stuff other than food is tough. drop the price and you WILL get more business.

  • Thanks for your input!

Producing a quality dummy is very labor intensive, as you will find out when making yours. Lowering the price may get more business, but it would no longer be viable to produce.

  • i've had mine for about 3 weeks and i really like it so far. he's not bullsh*tting when he says the legs start out tight...i still can even get into my dummy's guard yet. regardless, it's worth the money for side-mount traing alone...it's perfect for all those techniques. i basically set my mat out at night, and work on the dummy for 30 minutes...then leave the mats, so that they're there in the morning for another 30 minutes. then i put him up til later in the evening.

  • is good for reability after injury and fisic problems.

  • how is the weight of it. Good enough for conditioning?

  • stop posting...I want one, it's just too expensive... Anyone want to sell a used one ;-)

  • I use my little brother as my grappling dummy lol no this looks awesome i definitely want to get one.

  • that thing is so fucking creepie but awesome

  • that is hilarious--in a really cool kind of way! nice vid and great tool to have if you can afford it.

  • mine just put me into an armbar would recommend ++

  • that might be useful, i never have a training partner when i need one

  • i know qhat u mean follow warrior

  • its almost fucking 500 dollers damn is it really worth it are they dependeble this would be great for a gym to buy

  • Wow... what a great training device. And the techniques this guy is using practicing on the dummy are great too.

  • Awesome. Much better than the scarecrow I used to trian with lol.

I defo getting one of these

  • Nice, I have this exact dummy. I picked it up from Erik Paulson's web site a good while back. It doesnt replace a training partner but works great for drilling and working techniques into muscle memory.

Only complaint is I wish it would stand up so I could practice my Judo throws on it.

  • You can just get a regular upright standing dummy too.

  • wish i could afford one.

  • i need to get me one of those what do they cost?

  • just under 500 bucks bro

  • Wow, it even has a decent guard! :)

I bet it could triangle some of my non-jitz friends. xD

  • thanks, I have a few training mannequins that I use and they are great your's looks really good. Thanks for posting.

  • If your training submissions, you must have one with arms and legs.

If your just doing striking, the cylinder shaped dummies are o.k.

  • cool what do u think is better the ones with the arms or the ones that are a cylinder and are not shaped like a human. I want to know which is better for training

  • Man..what a great way to drill down techniques and get that muscle memory going...5 large is bank though!!!

  • 5 large means 5000. this dummy is 500. not 5000

  • Looks good mate, But that music makes me feel sick? Anyway will look into this as it looks fantastic.

  • Very interesting!

  • Grat product. Very thoughtful design!

  • I love this this thing,it helps me a great deal.

  • Cool. Nothing beats a live, resisting opponent, but it would be nice to get reps in when I have down time. I'm going to make one of those.

  • Moooooommmmm... I want one!

  • about how long does it take to break in?

  • That depends on how much time you spend working with him. Most people properly break him in within the first week.

Recent subtle modifications, including adding 6" to leg length, have made the break-in period shorter.

  • thanks

  • Great one but cost a lot of money. I life in germany. Price + shipping/handling + 18% tax (fucking government!) to the TOTAL ammount.

But it can realy improve your skill. Get some Gracie training DVD and have a nice saturday night with your doll ;)

  • @PriusRider Damn, I feel bad for you bro.

  • I am trying to decide on whether to buy Bubba II, or Submission Master.

Besides the obvious difference of the limbs being bent, anyone have any thoughts ?

  • how would i be able to get a hold of one in the uk.

  • The Submission Master keeps his legs at 90 degrees at the hips. This makes him great for submissions and guard work, but not appropriate for takedowns.

Typically, submission dummies don't work well for throwing and throwing dummies aren't good for submission work.

  • Any way to purchase them heavier

  • Currently the Submission Master only comes in one size. In case you haven't worked with a grappling dummy before, the dead weight feels much heavier than you would think, and we have found this to be the optimal weight for most people.

  • what's the weight on the dummy?

  • The Submission Master weighs approximately 75 to 80 lbs.

  • i want one but too expensive $485 for a dummy i rather use my brother.

  • Where can i get a grappling dummy from

  • The information on purchasing one is listed in the "About the video" section in the right hand corner of your screen.

  • I have a grappling dummy but from another company. I think the best way to look at using a dummy is as an addition to live training, not instead of it. Plus, you can drill endlessly with it.

  • Can you hold the chokes, armbars, and etc. with full force as long as you like without worrying about ripping the dummy? Thanks.

  • Most people train full force with the Submission Master. The material itself would be very difficult to rip, and tears to the seams are rare.

  • I should be more elaborate on that question. For example, can you have the dummy put you in an arm bar and you work on escaping?

  • Many defensive and escape tactics can be trained with the Submission Master.

You should be able to get a good idea of it's functionality by watching the 2 discussion videos about the Submission Master(by clicking on the "More Video's From: bobdorris.")

  • Can you work on escapes with this dummy? If yes, then can you post a video demonstration? Thanks.

  • The Submission Master is covered w/ Cordura, a material known for durability and resistance to scuffing. He is machine sewn and tears to the seams are rare.

If you call Dorris Health & Fitness (954-478-3685), we can give you excellent tips to prevent the joints from loosening. The dummy in the video had been used for 9 months.

There's 2 discussion videos about the Submission Master you can watch by clicking on the "More Video's From: bobdorris" link to the right on your youtube screen.

  • does anybody know where or what site i can get one from?

  • The contact and purchase information is in the "About the video..." in the right hand corner of the youtube screen.

  • Looks very nice. What kind of warranty do you offer?

  • All the information is at the Submission Master website. The information is in the "About the video..." in the right hand corner of your youtube screen.

  • Very good, but dummy dont hit back :) lol

  • the video was very impressive. in fact, i am thinking of buying one tomorrow so i can get lots of reps and not get injured
