Bono confirmed this on Radio 1 Jo Whiley show 27 Feb.Obviously U2 don't mind this recording as they didn't try to get it removed.

Same here, heard all the snippets and the full NLOTH song, and its great, really love this album, its fresh and new, and i agree, there recent albums have only features 3 or 4 great songs, this features around 8 to 10, its more closer to ATYCLB then HTDAB. One of the worse songs on the album is boots, no doubt, so no one worry.
