  • I really just loved the way how you uploaded and made

available us this video to make us aware of this new

technology.I really give you a big hand and big clap. Really

it's a new technology that you used to implement this concept.

I really thanks you from bottom of my heart.

  • very impressive work and videos...keep it up!

  • I encourage you to continue with your contribution it is appreciated.

  • i was trying to friend you on fotki, but i can't. My fotki is Deborah0576.Look me up.Oh, and your websites are very inspiring! Keep it up!

  • Lisa,

Hi. So basically i need to create a separate site just about me and my brand, and use a static site to make money?

  • Hi Lisa, the advantage though of blogs is that it keeps potential customers coming back. In a static website the potential customer gets all the help he needs through your content but you don't see them again especially if the site doesn't have an auto responder to collect their email by offering them something free in exchange.

  • How do you come up with a good name for a web site, And how do you know it is not already being used?

  • Im a blogger for many years, and i have to agree with you completely! Great tips Lisa! Basing on my experience too, my static site is definitely doing better than my blogs (ExpressInStyle dotcom and FiftyStatesTravel dotcom).

  • I'm not sure if you have done this, but can you make a blog post or youtube video, etc. on how to make static pages for blogs and effectively utilize them?

    Thanks,

    Andy

  • Lisa, you give great information and plus you are a beautiful woman.

  • Stop talking about what works and won't doesn't and start proving it. Right now I think there are people watching this video that are thinking to them self that if you can prove it your a liar or that people think you just haven't got enough knowledge about blogging, you can turn any blog into a static website if you know how, like I do and anybody else who does web development.

  • Aren't you friends with Brian G Johnson?

  • My site is very new (it hit the net on Halloween of last year) and I am using Yola as my site builder.I do not know if it is a blog or a static site. I am using on my pages with news what yola calls a "News" page. I have my separate events on different pages, on page for Orlando Horror Nights, one page for Hollywood Horror Nights, and our Knott's Scary farm page. can you tell me if I have a blog or if it is a site. I will send you my link if needed. Thanks!:)

  • Lisa I JUST bought a domain & paid for WP hosting (I havent worked on it yet), but something told me a blog was not what I wanted. Now I'm stuck with this blog. So you're saying there are ' themes' or 'layouts' within Wordpress to make it like a static website? Thanks

  • this has helped me a lot. I started using many affiliate programs such as rolution(dot)com/en/E763294Z/ and starting earning revenue thanks a lot.

  • Grazie Lisa very well presented, easy to follow & your enthusiasm is realistic & not a turn off. I was able to listen through the whole presentation. giovanni

  • Thanks Lisa. Your videos are quite inspirational. Yesterday I did not sleep and implemented lot of the changes you suggested for my channels and making them target able.

I am getting a check from google every month for the past 1 year, but they barely make the minimum payout. I want to take my online incomes to the next stage. I have a plan to sell information products through my blog. Do you suggest that I create a static page for this purpose or should incorporate that feature in my blog?

  • How many websites do you actually have?

  • Lisa, your looking more beautiful every day -)

    Good advice as well

  • Lisa you got me thinking. Makes so much sense... definitely gonna try it out. Thanks.

  • Lisa- You've nailed it.

Very few people understand how to optimize a blog. They end up a collection of randomness. Blog Pages are hardly even used in most blogs. Hence 0 momentum for keyword phrases.

Site Builder works because it combines technology, simple tools, feedback and MOST importantly a step by step blueprint. I'd say Build a SBI site. Then, you will know how to set up a blog: 3-5 keyword pages w back linked posts.

SBI works - but the user has got to have discipline and hustle.

  • @mosullivan511 A collection of randomness.... YES! What a great way to put it. :) Unfortunately that's what a lot of blogs are.

  • hello Lisa, how do you make your blog look like a static website? and do you recommend GDI to get my domain name from?? you know how their domain names end with (.ws) instead of (.com) so is that going to make it harder for people to find on search engines???

    thanks Lisa :)

  • What would you do if suddenly one day you couldn't make money off internet anymore?

  • Good stuff as usual. ;)

  • Hi Lisa, You've made some good points here. Last year, I started creating Excel video tutorials and I opted to post them to a blog. In hindsight, I think that I should have put this type of content on a static site for the reasons that you've mentioned. I be making that change shortly. Thanks, Ray

  • Does anybody have experience with a e-commerce product theme with a blog page on a subdomain?

  • then just becomes a site full of different but "in the ball park" type info and products. Peoples attention then gets pulled away. I find that people "sell" instead of informing and reassuring in their copy.

    Just my thoughts.

  • You can have a static pages/s along with a blog on the same website too I think that works well as a combination but again it depends what your website is about. There are so many other factors. With the structure of the site the topic can play a role in the bounce rate (how long people stay on a page). Like you mentioned, a 'filing' system of different posts and categories is good. But I think it only works for a specific (niche) website, hence why its easier. A site that has a broad niche>>

  • Your right . Static websites will always be relevant because of the people that use them. I think what needs to be taken into consideration is not only the type of information/content a certain group of people look for when they visit your site in particular but also without being patronising, people in general have a short tolerance and focus when it comes to looking at websites. There are many other factors like transparency, percieved worth.

  • Thanks for the response. I'm always a little worried when putting links in others videos but I thought it was a great example. Keep it up love your channel.

  • ******

Great stuff, Lisa, plus your hair looks fabulous in this video -- so now I want to find your hair website. Pat Flynn was also talking about arranging your website so new people know where to go -- kind of similar to your topic in the video. I didn't know static web pages could still rank so well, since everyone pushes the "fresh content" idea, but you've give me lots of good food for thought. Thanks!

    *******

  • Yes it's true what you said made a lot of sense.

  • What?!?! No Charlie Sheen content?? But he's bi-winning. He wins over here and he wins over there.... LOL!

  • hmmm. the content stuff catagorization is just a skill with your cms. i can even put a filter on there and do whatever i want.

  • This should just be common sense, I don't know why people don't get this. Thank you so much for your wisdom, Lisa.

  • I struggle with even getting a little bit attention for my videos..

I really NEED to become a partner or else i HAVE to get a job

I'm only 15 but my mum sais i HAVE to get a weekjob. And if that happens, i wouldn't have enough time anymore for making videos. I want it soo bad :(!

  • Personally, I don't bother with blog categories because I know the search engines will figure out the categories for me. Saves me time, that's the point of technology, right?

  • i wont do vlogs for now well not untill my english get better lol

  • It all comes down to, what is your site's purpose. If you are selling, then static is the way, but if you're writing or doing reviews, then blogging is the way. I have 100's of blogs and static sites. They both have their pros and cons, you have to decide what's best for your situation. One thing you didn't touch on was load time. Wordpress takes so long to load vs static pages. Wordpress has so many useless codes that bog down your load time. If you're a programmer like me, that's not an issue.

  • I thumbs up when I saw the Joel osteen book in the background he's awesome.

  • @bashleygal that is sooooo funny! once you pointed out the gold book with the pic of Joel on top, it was so obvious! I listen to Joel almost every single week on TV! He's the best. I spent all my time, for some reason, trying to figure out what the green book on the far right was!

  • Like I was saying....

Therefore, an article that was once on the first page will eventually become archived. This type of site is called dynamic as the content is always changing and not always in the same location.

Hope Lisa can clarify any discrepancies.

  • @henryblazer20

A static site is where your content is in a fixed place. So the page for your "about me" info is always on the "about" page. Or "articles" may be linked under a "articles" tab and may contain subcategories depending on the topics you cover.

Blogs on the other hand are chronological in fashion and tend to display the most recent posts on the first page and are separated by tags you give them or are archived by date. Therefore, an article that was once on the first page will event

  • This is a great video with some awesome tips! You are right about the way to use the categories on blogs to make your content easy to find. It took me awhile to figure it out, but your content must be in some type of order for readers to find it easily.

  • Thanks so much Lisa! This really helped me. btw, I searched "How to create a website" on Google and you're the first to come up! And on Yahoo and Bing your site is number 4. Those top search positions probably really help your traffic lol! I'm glad you made this video! Keep it up and good luck!

Also I don't know if I told you, but you're one of the people that inspired me to even start taking Youtube seriously back in March 2010. And you're videos still inspire me today :)

  • Makes lot of sense Lisa.

  • Lisa? What about using a Wordpress site and mixing lots of static pages with the blog?

  • @RMalayeri Yes, that's what I was talking about at the end. Make use of those static pages. Think about how your content should be organized from a user experience (what content should be front and center?) and think about the ideal navigation for keeping people on your site.

  • @lisa3876 hey lisa i use weebly free , i am planning to upgrade to my own domain.....1 month old and i have only 1200 pagevisits......ne suggestions......its about the web and tech world. And Lisa pls chk ur mailbox... i send u a mail......rahul247rocks...remember me....i was the one who told u that i ll work hard and be genuine!

  • Thank you so much!!! You are such an inspiration...I'm just getting into Web marketing and you have been a god send....Thanks again....PS And your hair looks awesome!!

  • I need to look into your videos on creating a static website. My blog makes nothing & I'm willing to try things differently.

  • You said the 'bieber' word.. I almost spilled my coffee all over my keyboard!

  • I have several blogs converting to Amazon greatly. I use different languages according to location, and professional software for content creation and optimization. Some other blogs are converting based on your advice of creating credibility and recommendations and as you said, same times, without me touching

  • well what I have to say if you are good with Photoshop and know a good deal about coding then you can create a pretty sick website I think blog sites for me are good if you know how to change to look of it I know how to change to look of it to where people can't even tell if it is a blog such as wordpress. now the goal with my site is to keep people updated with what is up with me mostly here on youtube and to also build websites for those who don't know how to do stuff with web design.

  • Very helpful video, as always! Thanks Lisa!!!

  • another good video, I'm trying the two-pronged attack myself; Then, I saw this video and had a happy-happy moment. I feel like i'm on the right track. I still have a long way to go. My website is now my own domain and it seems like things have changed since i origionally was designing it. Feels like there is a lot more styles of code/technology than before. I thought i was half way there to understanding but, i have a long way to go. step by step is the only way i can do it.

    Just a commment

  • This youtube video don't seem to show up on your facebook page. Do you post them manually there or is it supposed to autopost? Just curious.

  • aye she got her hair on point!

  • what is a static website?

  • @henryblazer20 it is a site that is done by using basic html/css coding and is not generated using something like wordpress or joomla it is how you would say a site made from scratch.

  • huh... I see

  • Simple Affiliate Theme kind of helps with the content arrangement issue that blogs have.

  • Sister what's going on with that hair? You look like a mango tree!

  • My Blog has more visitors than my static sites. But I earn more with my static sites. My stats show: My Blog attracts the same pool of people with only gaining a bit over 5% on new users each month, and recurring members tend to click less on ads than new users.

My static sites do not have many recurring members, but it attracts more one time visitors, who do end up clicking on ads because they are new to the website.

That is probably one of the reasons I earn more with static websites.

  • Preach it Lisa!!!

  • "my mortgage payment and then some" lol... I have wondered if blogs were going replace static sties all together. It seem today that most people are taking that route. But that is very interesting information. Come to think of it i am always struggling to keep my blog post a float in google while my static pages seem to hold their own. 0.o

  • Oh Lisa by the way, i like your ideal of using a blog as a static website. The only problem is do you think you can build up a problem solving content blog in static website fashion with 30 or 40 pages of solid content, and leave it to sit for 6 months or maybe a yr without slaming the brakes on progress?

  • Wassup Lsa.. i was going to build a blog, but as you said.. in order to progress with a blog you must update frequently. So in the near future i plan on using sbi to build a couple static websites. But for the time being im using hubpages to write articles so i can do my affiliate marketing and build up my google adsense income. In my eyes, static websites will always have the "upper hand" in terms of longevity for those who plan to produce solid, problem solving content, peace!
