Well, it won't all fit on the ukulele, but usually the melody will with a bit of the harmony. Most of the time I work off the piano score's right hand part. The real trick is finding fingerings for the left hand on the ukulele that can be played smoothly at speed. Unlike piano, there are 2, 3 or 4 different places on the fingerboard to choose from to play most notes. The best sounding one is sometimes not the most obvious.
in parts it reminded me of those old game themes, like super mario, that kind of thing, on the ukele. Its strange, you can tell its the same thing as on piano but it has a totally different feel... good though!
Excellent. Did you learn to pluck the strings from a book or just wing it? I'm a horrid "winger" and would prefer to see what is needed in a book if such a book exists (preferably for a ukulele).
I learned picking as a banjo player using books like "Bluegrass Banjo" by Peter Wernick.
John King has some excellent books with finger picking arrangements, although they probably are not intended for someone just starting out. Elderly Instruments has the John King books and a bunch of other books that could be helpful.
